Its not that he's underrated so much as it is he was not rated at all nobody gives keyboard players pianist enough credit nowadays because they aren't enough featured in bands anymore and when they were featured it was the synthesizer hair metal stuff was cool and all but overshadowed by the high pitched high C vocals and guitar playing and never any on stage solos i barely knew vitalij i heard he passed away the other day and he was in TSO so i knew his talent was beyond there i just knew him as the keyboardist from TSO and saw him play so many years ago but that's all i knew about him didn't know he had his solo projects and other bands so underrated yes but actually it was worse barely known not rated at all 😢
Best keyboardist/pianist i've heard yet, in modern music! He plays so damn fast and yet so damn clean. He is the Paul Gilbert of keyboard! Hats off for Vitalij Kuprij! His name needs to be more famous in the world so everyone can see the talent of this man!

I got VK3 as soon as I had enough money. It really changed my outlook on music. VK3 was a serious Break Through ;-)

Even when you give him compliments later on, it's like they just don't process anything they read anymore. I understand what you are talking about. We all can agree on one thing - he's got more fun than most. Skills are, of course, there. But where is the limit with all that speed? Melodies are hard to find these days in high speed music. Give me some haunting melody, please!
Vitalij is great. His technique is ridiculously flawless, his speed is incredible, and he is having more FUN than any classical pianist has ever had.... wait, did I say "FUN"???? Shame on me, music isn't about FUN!!!!
Viralij SHREDDED keyboards and piano. Whenever I hear this stuff, I hear elements of Rick Wakeman, Ray Manzarek, Kevin Moore, Derek Sherinian, Jordan Rudess....or Mozart and Beethoven. I'm a prog/metal guitarist, and all these guys aforementioned--I hear the "guitar influences", the delivery and phrasings--classical/headbanging/virtuoso conveyances. Kinda funny--looking back in my years, I failed at playing piano. Loved it, but couldn't do it. Ended up learning guitar. I still loved the sounds of prog/metal rock keys, but got successful on guitar. My inspirations? Alex Lifeson (Rush) and Steve Howe (Yes). And to think, I learned 6 strings on 22 frets, while keys/piano can be 88! Do the math!
