Thanks man. Just Finished my Rears. 20 minutes a side beating the rotor with a dead mallet to get it off.
E-brake tends to stick. Seems a little easier to get a chisel or shorty bar in there and pry vigorously rather than just pound on it.

Thanks very much for doing this. Really helps. Wife took her '14 Durango to dealership. Said it was 'Only cost $350 to do rear pads. Told her to leave and I'll do it. Pads only cost $60 on Ebay.

My dad has a 2013 Durango and shop quoted him almost 700 for rear rotors and rear pads I told him I'll do it for a nice lunch lol
I just got a price of $1300 for front and back. Parts cost me around 325, and thats with slotted and drilled rotors.
Great Job. Just Remember To Have Your Emergency Brake Off. Rotor Will Come Off Much Easier.

How I adjust the rear parking brake shoe without taking the rotors off?
Good vid. What do you think the purpose of that rubber seal is for? Of all the brakes jobs i've done over the yrs, my guess is to hold the rotor on durring the assembly, like those thin rings around the lug nuts. I can't see it serving any other purpose. What is your thoughts? Getting ready to do all 4 on my 14 hemi grand cherokee. Has 87k miles on original brakes
+Henry Perry Dang. My 98 cherokee seems to have long lasting pads too. I agree with you its probably for assembly at the factory.

Do you have to have a wind back tool for rear pistons?
Oreillys & autozone rent them for free with deposit.
I use a clamp i bought for 2 dollars at Walmart lol it might be more difficult than a special tool but its cheaper
I cannot get the piston to compress. When I removed the pad, piston felt loose, could move in multiple directions. I 'jiggled' it in place and it does not move freely... also will not compress. Any ideas? Certainly not nearly the same as doing the front brakes!
Try cracking the bleed valve while compressing the piston.
Before you try to compress your piston you need to open the hood and remove the cap from the brake fluid reservoir.

Years ago you could go to an auto parts store and have your rotors cut, I cant find anyone where I live who will do it, and I tried calling allot of places.
I work for O'Reilly and we still turned rotors for 25 a pair
