      And on pretentious, hypocritical liberals who preach about #MeToo and women being objectified, all while playing sluts or posing naked on Instagram... preaching against the 2nd amendment while making millions on violent movies in which they glorify guns and violence... or claiming end-of-the-world climatology while flying around in private jets and cooling their 20-bedroom mansions.

    I remember when the first Hot Robot came out. My grandfather, Abuelito, took me to the theatre. He let me buy anything I wanted, popcorn, mike & ikes, and a large coca cola. The movie really helped us bond with each other. Ever since my grandmother Abuelita passed away, Abuelito became very distant from the family. But that movie helped him move on, and I got to spend a perfect day with him. Where were guys when the groundbreaking seminal film Hot Robot came out?

    • @SailorMoonLogic
      @SailorMoonLogic 4 года назад +38

      I am not exaggerating when I say the first Hot Robot film saved my life.
      I grew up in a very strict household, made stricter still because I was a "free-spirit" that embarrassed my family. In my household, art in all of its forms was treated with the fear and disgust of a controlled substance and I was only allowed to consume art and film that my parents approved of. So, when media buzz surrounding the genre-defining, once-in-a-generation EXPERIENCE that is, 'Hot Robot' was making the news-rounds, my parents, in an effort to subvert my artistic and outlandish nature, sat me down and FORBADE me from seeing it. They threatened to disown me, to withhold my college tuition, to bad-mouth me to the rest of the family. As frightened as that ultimatum had made me, my plucky curiosity got the better of me, and I managed to sneak into a screening.
      Hot. Robot. Saved. My. Life.
      Every word, every shot, every boob, filled my soul in ways my "parentally guided" experiences with cinema NEVER had. By the time the credits rolled, with tears down my cheeks and a song in my heart, I knew, KNEW what my true place in the world was.
      Hot Robot gave me the strength to tell my parents off, to pay for college on my own, start a business, travel the world, find my soulmate, and bring this now trilogy to everyone whose hearts need succor.
      Thank-you, Hot Robot, for giving me the courage to be myself.

      Hot Robot 1 came out and I honestly didn't even notice. My life was in a spiraling path of despair. Hot Robot 2 came out and I guess I was just too busy pushing the world away to even notice a glorious franchise had been born. But after my most recent bout of depression ebbed, I saw a trailer for Hot Robot 3 and it literally changed everything for me. I realized that I'd been missing out on life, letting the greatest things slip by while I just sat there, wallowing in my depression.
      For me, the Journey to Boob Mountain was like recapturing my lost child hood... conquering the abuse and looking past the cigarette burns and brain damage from repeated head trauma. Watching the truest love unfold between a robot from Sweden and a nerd, well it just took my heart and squeezed it. It's the kind of love I've always wished for. I mean, I'll never have it... robots don't look like that... and nerds aren't that attractive... but it's Hollywood. The idea is that seeing these pretty people pretend to be ugly and broken like me, makes me think _I_ can actually do something with my life.
      After watching Hot Robot 3, I can honestly say, my depression is over.

    • @TimThomason
      @TimThomason 7 лет назад +97

      I think the movie deserves a rewatch. It's obvious that it was made in a very politically charged and traumatic environment, and viewing it within the lens of a post-Trump society, as a modern work of touching melodrama with a touch of acerbic wit.
      It doesn't match the optimism and enthusiasm of the plots from the first two Hot Robots, written and produced during the nadir of the Obama administration, but that doesn't diminish from the story they're trying to tell.
      Artists and creators should be free to experiment and speak their mind. Andy Perkins' brilliant screenplay and bold directorial choices are a boon, not a hindrance, to the different tone set forth by Hot Robot 3: Journey to Boob Mountain. And the chemistry between Hot Robot and Skidmark has never been better. Witwer and Stevens are masters of their craft and every scene, either at its zaniest or its somberist, is made all the more better by these two brilliant performers.
      I see the flaws in Hot Robot 3: Journey to Boob Mountain. They're not numerous, but they are there. Skidmark is much quieter and has a somewhat shorter libido. Hot Robot doesn't explore her bisexuality nearly as much as one would expect. But, again, we were spoiled by the first two brilliant installments. This isn't entertainment. This is a sobering wake-up call that, like Skidmark, Tweezer, and the gang, we can't just mope around all day. We need to be more active, climb that mountain, and pick up some Hot Robot tail.

      what a facsinating story, great to know this movie inspired you and influential it was. People have been very harsh on this film when it came out, but the truth is that they don't understand how powerfull and deep it is. Yeah it was not the first and second hot robot, it was different it tried something that were shocking for fans of the original but in the end, it was a reimagining and so challenging.
