There was a death at my Hospital, one of my patients. As I was walking into the room to wrap the body this song popped into my head. I began to sing out loud. Shortly after, I needed to do inventory of the deceased belonging and I found a picture of our LORD and Saviour, Jesus Christ. All glory to the Most High. Amen and again I say, AMEN.

Once upon a time, it was my dream to sing in the choir of the Air Force Academy. Unfortunately, my allergies started causing issues with my voice & I would have laryngitis for several weeks a year. My voice never really recovered enough to even continue in my high school choir, so I gave up my dream. All the choirs of the Armed Forces are such a blessing & a gift to our nation & our troops.
I lost my grandson 2 years ago, S.O. , Master Navy Diver, from injuries received during his active duty. I cherish all of our military guys and thank them for their service. They are truly real men.

One last comment. I found myself serving in Okinawa from ‘74-‘75 in the Marines. A fellow Marine who was a Church of God member invited me to the Christian Servicemen’s Church of God in town. I ended up spending my free time there over 13 months, Rev Wright was the pastor. All the members were Americans from the four branches along with their families I made many friends there. I gotta tell ya the love and the camaraderie I experienced was tremendous like never before and never since. The experience created a very special warm spot in my heart for all the troops of the United States of America, truly the cream of the crop and the best experience of my entire life. Semper Fi.

This has always been a very emotional piece for me…I remember hearing the original by Leonard Cohen, and it just hit me as so stark, and so singular a prayer. Then, Pentatonix and their version, and I just fell apart. In High School, was involved in vocal music, and this just hit me at the very core, because of their beautiful rendition. This version, too was like a gut punch, but very, very beautiful. Thanks.

This is not a Pentatonix arrangement, this is the way the song is meant to be sung, by anyone. Also F.Y.I. Home Free is a much better A Capella group than Pentatonix.

This has always been a very emotional piece for me…I remember hearing the original by Leonard Cohen, and it just hit me as so stark, and so singular a prayer. Then, Pentatonix and their version, and I just fell apart. In High School, was involved in vocal music, and this just hit me at the very core, because of their beautiful rendition. This version, too was like a gut punch, but very, very beautiful. Thanks.
