ayooo, smt v funi moments, was planning to release 2 weeks ago but oops anyways, subscribe for more shin megami tensei stuff #smtv #smt5 #shinmegamitensei
SMT V is the most chaotic “heh” 10 out of 10 I have ever played. Sure it has its issues, but all of the gameplay improvements (FUSION FROM COMPENDIUM MAKES THIS AN AUTO 10), the ability for any demon to be viable, and the music makes me love this game even with all of the shortcomings
I think the good animations (and unique animations) in SMT 5 really elavates the experience and noteworthy of praise. In SMT 4, Apocolyse, non-existant attack animation and JPEG demons really ruined the experience quite a bit. And what use having a huge roster (400 demons) when you can't exactly "see" them.
@@fukunaga-kane haven't played any of the 3D SMT's yet, only 4, 4:A and SJ:R. All I can say is that gameplay and story are a must in turn-based genres, doesn't need to do 1 extremely well just have a balance of the 2. I couldn't finish 4:A because the story sucked for me (threw everything from 4 in the garbage bin with nothing of it's own to keep it interesting), I couldn't finish SJ:R because the gameplay was too unpredictable for me (coming from press turn, the story made me near the end but I found myself doing a chore so often that it got to me that I was just wasting time on a good story that I could foresee anyway). SMT4 was excellent and didn't need better graphics or animation tho, the gameplay was balanced and fun, the story was great, and the music was top-tier...it kept me going. I'm interested in SMT5 because it seems to up that balance of story+gameplay, and sure, the graphics also appeal otherwise I'd be more interested in SMT3, but SMT4 was proof that a good game has no need for top-tier graphics or animation to be excellent.
I'm enjoying SMT 5 at the moment. It's fun switching out demon's, deciding which skills to use, building my character, and surviving. To me, this is a game of trial and error with some luck sprinkled on top.
agreed, fun game and incredibly flawed, there are a lot of problems in V that weren't present in previous games like inflated HP (which leads to high MP usage), performance issues or cardboard characters still, I want to think of V as a stepping stone for future better designed megaten games with similar production values
@@grandaaa They just can't get the amount of HP of enemies right. In IV, the bosses could have used a few thousand more HP, same for Nocturne. The issue with V's bosses is that they have both high Vitality and HP. Even regular field enemies have double the amount of HP (usually, I think?) their ally forms have. Some skills cost unnecessarily too much MP like tier one elementals cost a whopping 10MP, Media costs like 26 MP etc. They tried to alleviate this with on-field HP/MP drops and to some extent it worked. But whenever I was in dire need of HP/MP, the pickups were nowhere to be found and when I didn't need them, they were abundant. Bosses can suddenly turn the tides even if you prepare well (level scaling is one of the causes). I'd be very close to finishing a boss then they'd knock out like two demons in my party without even striking a weakness. I'm playing on Normal on an emulator since that's the difficulty of the save that was given to me by a friend. I was fighting King Frost for a side quest. Before the very end, two stacks of Tarunda ran out and he knocked out my Kikuri-Hime at full HP with a Bufu +5, no weakness. She was Lv24 and KF is 30 I think. Low vitality against bosses is pretty much a death sentence. These are my main gripes so far. I don't mind the game being unfair at times and getting game overs out of nowhere, it's part of the fun that is SMT. I'm enjoying the game, the exploration is nice, the music is good. The gameplay is fun but a little questionable at times. Edit : About buffs. I think it'd have been better if they went with the DDS approach. The buffs and debuffs had diminishing returns which meant that stacking buffs/debuffs gave less benefits the more they were stacked. And, like they did with dampeners, gave you access to Dekaja/Dekunda gems so it didn't turn the game into which side can buff/debuff more.
@@flynn1545 100% agreed, I don't know how they managed to fuck up stats even more balanced than before, vitality is very vital (pun intended) in hard, somehow they managed to make agility useless and luck continues being garbage after I dont know how many years for how expensive in mp buffs are, they are very weak, stuff like the gladis and impalers animus are pretty nice but luster candy, debilitate costing so much for such a mediocre output is kinda sad, charge and concentrate are pretty much useless too which is a big sad, I think the 3 turn systems is nice bc it makes it being temporal make it so bosses cant just freely use dekaja on you, I think the idea is there but a couple of number tweaks would make the experience much better yet the update we get is to remove fans from the only dungeon that was actually hard lol I havent tried V in pc but switchs shitty stick make controlling the camera annoying and that hurts exploration a lot, I dunno how loading times work in pc but theres constant lag after the animations which are short (1-1.5 secs) but when they stack, they make the combat sluggish also textures taking a couple of seconds to load are a big eyesore, these little things would be nonissues if smt v werent stuck in such a crappy console but alas
I dont mind the hp. I dunno what everyone's deal is. It just forces you to tighten up your strategy for a longer period of time. Running out of mp is annoying. But it just forces you to fuse more. I dont see that as a bad thing.
I tried playing Nocturne once but I was a coward and couldn't complete it but now I'm on SMT 5 and I love it very much. I was afraid that I wouldn't finish this game either, and for about a month I did basically abandon it but I returned to it recently and have put lots of hours in. The game is really fun to me. Currently at level 42 trying to level up enough to defeat Surt
@@patrickhenry4067I mean Yeah, If being Prepared meant you would win instantly then It would just be a puzzle game, Bosses taking time to beat makes you think and Make decisions actively and choose, Adapt, A boss thats easy the moment you aquire a proper team isnt a good boss
@@Dumbsourplum I'm not complaining, I actually like the bosses taking a while. It makes it more satisfying when you win. I was just responding to why people think the bosses are spongy
@@Dumbsourplum Compared to SMTIV, it's less fast paced. IV was kinda crazy, very high stakes in each turn. IV has some issues, but I prefered how fast it was and the level scaling. More than how spongy the bosses are, my main problem is that being 5 levels over or under the boss often means beating them is often too difficult, or a cakewalk. It's a great game, but I hope they flesh out the next game with all the experience they've acquired making a new gen SMT now.
@@jmiquelmb Im just a newcomer man, I havent played IV, I admit V is pretty slow, I still havent finished it after months, But i like that, I like Taking it slow y'know
SMT V is a great game that managed to meet the expectations of the next entry, but isn’t perfect. The story is really not fleshed out (with some moments here and there), and the maps visually are not that well made. The core gameplay and variety/balancing of demons though? Absolutely banging. Collecting every single one, never felt like I was tired of the same ones or lost in a sea of redundant ones either. I’d give it a 8.5/10, god game
when i saw some of nahobino's skills,i instantly wish this game was like DS : Raidou Kuzunoha,an action game with rpg elements but fixed camera perspective
Was sad that I would have to stop playing this when arceus legends dropped. TLDR bad megami tensei! Time for 2nd playthrough on hard but this time I'll defeat shiva and all the extra content!

we got fusion from comp on smt iv too though iirc. or was it strange journey redux.

persona fans: "why do everyone hate us?"
also: "SMT is just a persona game with the heart"
SO WE TEAR OUR THEIRS
1. Love the sound effects. 2. Why didn't you fuse angel?
1. thanku❤
2. I did but I just couldn't show it in the video because I wanted to fit the duration of the song
Lost it whenever this person named their Nahobino Twink .

“Subscribe for agi on minotaur” fucking subbed lmao
