Every time I hear this woman speak, I am reminded of why I adore everything about her. Such a beautiful mind. Such a beautiful woman. Björk is like no other.
No doubt she's a totally self-aware high potential intelligent person gifted with uncommon skills and open mind. The word "genius" will seem too strong for most of us... but we have to admit that she's the definition of it!
She said she might be in the Autism spectrum. I watched a lot of interviews she gave recently and she is always extremely deep and intelligent in her responses, no matter if it is an English or German interviewer, always original in thought.
If you look at her interviews over the years, this is about authenticy. If she is not completly happy with the interview - it shows, if she and the journalist hit off in a great way, it shows. Also travelling and having different amount of energy on different days.
When I feel a bit low, grumpy. I like to come here, to listen to this interview. Makes my heart feel warm and full, brings clarity to my mind and reminds me of what is truly important. Thankyou. Is a wonderful comfort you provide.
The thing that I love about her the most is that she could be talking about the most basic and simple thing in such a beautiful way. No matter what that thing may be. She finds beauty in everything. I think she’s very intelligent
She so beautiful and so shy she gives us so much of herself in her music I listen to her voice when I'm falling asleep whispering in my ear the most beautiful sound.
She did that because she was being stalked for 4 days, they asked disrespectful questions to her son who was a child then. She said that she exploded, she is human! and she apologized too.
I think creative people are curious people . When you are curious you have a lot of questions and you get a lot of answers and when you don't get an answer from someone or something you try to figure it out by yourself and this pushes you to do think and be imaginative. And creativity is, i think, "just" the consequence of curiosity .. There is nothing more sad or boring than people who are not curious and imaginative and who do not ask questions or do not try to find answers by themselves, to what they don't know . This is why i do not make any difference between artist and craftspeople or scientists , all these people are people who are curious and thirsty for answers , and this is why they are so creative . We owe everything accomplished by mankind throughout its entire history, to creative people, both the best and the worst . Bjork is one of those people who brings out the best in human's creativity in her own field(s). This is what makes her so unique . A lot of artists are driven by fame , money, recognition, etc... For them art is not the aim, it is the way to reach the aim. Bjork and people like her , are like scientists , and for them the path is as important as the goal , and just like scientists try to figure things out because they are curious, true artists create things because they enjoy the creating or creative process as much as the outcome and understand that true art is truly its own reward . I have to stop writing stuff when i am drunk and stoned . Anyway i'll read that again tomorrow and see if it makes any sense. If i can remember i wrote it . .
I want to "like" this comment a billion times! Curiosity is such an endearing trait, IMO. I couldn't agree more with what you said: "There is nothing more sad or boring than people who are not curious and imaginative and who do not ask questions or try to find answers by themselves". There is no way to gain intelligence, knowledge, or garner meaning from experience without curiosity. Sadly, many schools ( and parents :( ) seem to still be on a mission to quell this natural trait in children ( examples of this include: limiting kid's interests and choices based upon their gender; not letting them express themselves adequately- creatively or otherwise) , and as a result those children grow up without any imagination, creativity, or critical thinking skills/ intellectual autonomy. If we want innovators, we need to allow and *encourage* curiosity! It's better for the kid's mental health, too, as they are allowed to explore their natural talents and be whoever they authentically are- WITHOUT shame. Anyway. I know this is an old comment, so you may not see it, but sending love and high-fives back in time to you! Peace from Aus x

very profund and beautiful answer at the end, when she speaks about dedication an family. Never thought I would get emotional at hearing and interview like this. you know, when u expect to hear certain "creativity answers". She was very moved by saying that. Something so simple and beautiful at the same time... Loving this one. Thank u for uploading
@MorbidManMusic she did say that she was fortunate because she sold some CDs in the 90s but hardly made any penny in the last 20 years because all the money went back into her work. So i would say she's been overlooked by the mass
Bjork has this free spirited childlike Characteristic to her that is so unique. "She breathes and exists for her Dreams ". While the rest of the world pursue a title get a job, pay bills and die.
"I think it's just the way I can't do anything else" - on creativity. See? This is why I wish there was a place for each & every musicians/artist to flourish & live their confusing lives to the full. But money comes in to it. That filthy word that destroys people's hopes & dreams.
+EVERYONE - I want those who agree to speak UP & re-enforce my words. Don't just click like & disappear... we need to form a group of artists whose ideals far exceed the confines of the simple man's greed. No matter what your creed, colour, culture etc. You MUST stand with me!
Economic freedom needs to be in place for everyone! You might be interested in the group Artists for Basic Income. A culture that's based on alienating people for the sake of economic profits, need to at least provide an unconditional basic income to everyone so that they can live freely.
Polycube I agree. Although I think it would be best if we declared money obsolete, & we have a resources based economy instead, with a completely alternative purpose for our existence on the planet. One of fulfillment, liberation, freedom, & getting the best out of our brief time here. Not just for artists, because I believe every human has art within them. For everyone.
Caldera Records I am for that as well, a resourced based economy would be great if it were decentralized like in Cantons. There's a potential for a centralized one to become too Authoritarian and unresponsive. Basic Income is universal as well. It's not only for those with their 'artist' card :)
Polycube I was talking to a friend about this the other day. And it's funny that only scientists, philosophers & artists can see the way to the future. A thinking man's world perhaps. Music is the keyhole through to these alternative worlds. I'd urge everyone to take up music & let it liberate them! God.. my hipster is on overdrive today!!
Damien Hurst's comment 'but you didn't' is quite crass really. We can all go out there and be artistic and create something that no one has done before. We do it as children when we build dens, each one an individual piece. What people get upset about when something is intrinsically basic like Tracy Emin's 'Unmade bed' is the weight the art world gives it. I firmly believe everyone should be involved in some form of art and creative process, whether it be painting, music, acting, photography, writing, poetry etc, etc. It gives worth, value and self expression to one's life and can be a great form of release. Bjork comes over really well in this interview. I like the way she looks at the artistic process. I don't think you can formulate that process because each individuals creativity is triggered by different things in their life.
Check out "Screaming Masterpiece"; documentary on ALL Icelandic music. She says some very good things in that film as well. Not too mention the performances themselves. Amazing film. That and "Heima" (means home) by Sigur Ros. The country actually payed for it. Very high production value. Iceland is very special. Screaming Masterpiece and Heima should be seen back to back... Thank me later...
Bjork is surely the most creative artist on earth. She can give any artists out there a lesson on how to be creative. I wish I could be as creative as her.
Björk is a big inspiration in my own music making in the way that I don't feel I have to follow any specific genres or trends, I'm making weird instrumental electronic metal. Look it up on my channel if you want to listen to something different.
I used to be creative, but I'm afraid 56 years of school military working and raising my family kinda dampened it. It feels like the fire is still there but so small and tired
WHY ARE YOU CREATIVE ? IT'S BECAUSE EVERYBODY CAN SEE THAT IT DOESNT MATHER HER AGE, SHE CONSERVE THE SAME KEY THAN CHILDS... THE INNOCENCE THAT MOST OF US LOSE WHEN WE GROW UP
What and who else can you love, when there's a Bjork! ) But why? May be men over the world love her just because she screams and hails so much just like a passionate human female ready to fulfill all your sexual dreams? But that's only one part or plane of her attractiveness. The other is purely musical and her unsurpassed master level of voice control., its dynamic and emotional range The 3-rd one is her sincerity, simplicity ("being stupid") and openness.. And I'm sure, there's much more why we all will always love Bjork..
Every time I hear this singer I reminded of how she smashed the face of a Japanese Reporter trying to ambush interview her in the airport and how she screamed like a swan of a lady.
to me, bjork looks more beautiful in this video as there's not much makeup on. her hair is like "i dont care" kinda natural style/look regardless the camera and interview.
Well, I grew up in the lower middle class, which is harder, in some ways, than the working class because they expect so much for very little. My type are going insane currently in the US. My family has been mostly farmers or lived simple lives. I'm tired of people who have IQs like 140 thinking that they deserve everything like my stuff because my IQ is lower. 140 is like the median IQ in my family for the most part, minus the few who were diseased. My sister got that result and declared she was average. They made tons of art, past generations and then this generation. They were good in school, but no one behind the generation of my grandparents dreamed much of upwards mobility in society, just good at school and hyperactive on the farm or building houses. We all have a bit of ADHD in us. That's probably the "evolution" they throw at everyone, especially the disabled. On another note, I don't like when people think that we can't do other things besides our jobs.

Hmmm....Ok...I have to admit, I always thought she was a little pretentious and attention seeking with some of her stunts. Her music is just OK in my book. Some songs are good, nothing I would lose my mind over. But...I dig her vibe here. She seems to have a decent head on her shoulders...And some of her videos are pretty cool to watch...She might...MIGHT be growing on me.
She's anything but pretentious. Unless knowing what she wants and being uncompromising is pretention.....it isn't. A decent head on her shoulders is an understatement. I think that it is difficult for her to explain exactly what goes on in that wonderful, complex head, because it's beyond the understanding of most.
Compare Bjorks thoughtful, sensitive gestures to humanity to Madonna's ever-inclusive ego-mania. // Not that I don't think Madonna did some amazing music and music videos. And she did have some sort of actual social conscious, at least before she turned to the Kabbalah. // Not that I don't think the Kabbalah is an amazing meditative work, they just got the math somewhat wrong. Which is what screwed up and enevitably demonized Madonna. Literally. // Not that I have anything against demons. I simply prefer Bjork. // Come "C" my remix of her "Utopia." - _The Acoustic Rabbit Hole_ Clique on the rainbow rabbit!
In an older interview she said that she doesn't like giving autographs because she feels like people who ask her the autograph are humiliating themselves in front of her, and it's pretty stupid to treat her like she's some higher being. She would really like people to be equal to her and not kneel in front of her just because she's a celebrity or something. To her, the musician and the bricklayer are equally respectable.
I think she is not very feminine. I rather see in Bjork the person without different sexy identity. She often seems like boy( her gestures, her mimics, her species, her fat eyebrows, her body), and also she has gerlish species. She is talanted, but not very feminine
None of us is 100% male or 100% female. But I personally think of Björk as very feminine. Her music is also very feminine, sometimes very matriarchal. It's more that she doesn't follow our common aesthetic models (i.e. women must have thin eyebrows, must have a certain attitude, etc.)
Every time I hear this woman speak, I am reminded of why I adore everything about her. Such a beautiful mind. Such a beautiful woman. Björk is like no other.

Never thought I would get emotional at hearing and interview like this. you know, when u expect to hear certain "creativity answers". She was very moved by saying that. Something so simple and beautiful at the same time... Loving this one. Thank u for uploading
I hate women like her go unnoticed, the views should be more. I love you björk
@MorbidManMusic she did say that she was fortunate because she sold some CDs in the 90s but hardly made any penny in the last 20 years because all the money went back into her work. So i would say she's been overlooked by the mass
Her work is not for the mass to understand or appreciate.
They have Madonna, Miley Cirus et al.
@@enriquegranados5179 Madonna is a genius tho
Makes you a hater.
I love listening to her speak.
such an intelligent and tender human creature
what I love most in Bjork is that is finds beauty in EVERYTHING
She is so sweet.
Bjork The Queen Of Stage 🥰😘
Bjork has this free spirited childlike
Characteristic to her that is so unique.
"She breathes and exists for her Dreams ".
While the rest of the world pursue a title get a job, pay bills and die.
This is the word that describes her to me the best: Pure.

I agree.

I was talking to a friend about this the other day. And it's funny that only scientists, philosophers & artists can see the way to the future. A thinking man's world perhaps.
Music is the keyhole through to these alternative worlds. I'd urge everyone to take up music & let it liberate them! God.. my hipster is on overdrive today!!
A great example you are for us all. We thank you Bjork!
I Love you Björk!!!! I love your voice sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much
An incredible lady Bjork -so humble and so honest.
She really isn't unnoticed.
Sooo so beautiful!
I don't think you can formulate that process because each individuals creativity is triggered by different things in their life.
so humble
Wise young woman.
i love bjork sooooo much
💚U Bjork ... Creativity is just a compliment
I like Bjork.
Omg she is so cute and full of tenderness :)
SO CUTE
Shes so wise
Check out "Screaming Masterpiece"; documentary on ALL Icelandic music. She says some very good things in that film as well. Not too mention the performances themselves. Amazing film. That and "Heima" (means home) by Sigur Ros. The country actually payed for it. Very high production value. Iceland is very special. Screaming Masterpiece and Heima should be seen back to back... Thank me later...
I'm so obsessed with her
Most all-around beautiful woman ever!
She have an asmr voice.
Абсолютный гений и художник. Из других миров...
LOVE YOU ❤
Bjork is surely the most creative artist on earth.
Beautiful Björk I love her and your voice and face be eternal ! I looovee so much much ...! My Love forever!
You are Extra terrestre in show business
great video
I used to be creative, but I'm afraid 56 years of school military working and raising my family kinda dampened it.
It feels like the fire is still there but so small and tired
WHY ARE YOU CREATIVE ? IT'S BECAUSE EVERYBODY CAN SEE THAT IT DOESNT MATHER HER AGE, SHE CONSERVE THE SAME KEY THAN CHILDS... THE INNOCENCE THAT MOST OF US LOSE WHEN WE GROW UP
Love her
she range the library to the beat and discipline her Voice as Regular Balance because it still can be luck of enough when i naturally being laud more.
She is great
Bjork's Creativity
> Much Like Her Country is a Constant JuxtaPosition of
Fire & IceLand Creative Chaos
i like her accent.
She seems distracted and reserved here, maybe she had something on her mind that day.
Unnoticed?, she's a superstar!, alltho i think she doesn't care lol
I magine if her and Jeff Buckley had married and had children? What a world we'd have!
+omniscientmoon77 Two of my favorite singers :)
+omniscientmoon77 omg I thought I was the only one thinking that XD
Her & Bowie. :0
Ahhh, Jeff Buckley ♡♡♡
What and who else can you love, when there's a Bjork! ) But why? May be men over the world love her just because she screams and hails so much just like a passionate human female ready to fulfill all your sexual dreams? But that's only one part or plane of her attractiveness. The other is purely musical and her unsurpassed master level of voice control., its dynamic and emotional range The 3-rd one is her sincerity, simplicity ("being stupid") and openness.. And I'm sure, there's much more why we all will always love Bjork..
a better question "what is creativity?"
MAYA lol
Long story short: the capabillity of solve problems with a disruptive aproach...?
🏆💋💋💋
Every time I hear this singer I reminded of how she smashed the face of a Japanese Reporter trying to ambush interview her in the airport and how she screamed like a swan of a lady.
until you fall in love ohhhh
I Agree
Do I? Do you know me? Certain differences ARE Aspergers. Personality is difference, Aspergers is identifiable traits.
What an intelligent question to ask . Gee why are you breathing ,like what drives you to inhale ... Man ,flabbergasted
+Bjorksmusic Regina Bjork magic creativity :)♡. 👽lyricpoetry ☆☆☆
What a weird quesiton.
Turn around and ask everyone else "Why aren't you creative (anymore) ?".
Now this
cause im not good enough lol
When Stephen King is asked..Where do you get your ideas?. His answer had been “ On the corner of ..
to me, bjork looks more beautiful in this video as there's not much makeup on. her hair is like "i dont care" kinda natural style/look regardless the camera and interview.
pero ¿por qué? se adapta a todos los criterios no es una tontería preguntar sabes. Asperger no es un insulto.
Un peinadon, estuvo buena la peda, jejeje.... I LOVE HER ♥
Melodramma in the comments section...
great men in the comments, btw
O Bjork you can do a lot , like sweeping the floor and wash and cook ,but why would you
Hahahaha i'm just watching this because i saw Kristen Wiig impersonating her and i wanted to see if she really talks like this... and yes she does hahahahaha...
you call everyone who are different Asperger? You may as well label every single person on Earth with diagnoses.
Asperger Syndrome isnt an illness its just your brain is wired differently...
She's defiantly somewhat of a realist in all her fantasies in her ideas it winds back to honesty
Elana Vital I love this comment :)
She's anything but pretentious. Unless knowing what she wants and being uncompromising is pretention.....it isn't. A decent head on her shoulders is an understatement. I think that it is difficult for her to explain exactly what goes on in that wonderful, complex head, because it's beyond the understanding of most.
You're fucking stupid
That was intelligent and well thought out. And 3 words, 4 if you count you're as two words.
all artists anoyed by this stupid task of writing down your „answer“ in a piece of paper argh
So in other words, non exposure to main stream western BS.
She looks mad human stop with the race crap
Compare Bjorks thoughtful, sensitive gestures to humanity to Madonna's ever-inclusive ego-mania. // Not that I don't think Madonna did some amazing music and music videos. And she did have some sort of actual social conscious, at least before she turned to the Kabbalah. // Not that I don't think the Kabbalah is an amazing meditative work, they just got the math somewhat wrong. Which is what screwed up and enevitably demonized Madonna. Literally. // Not that I have anything against demons. I simply prefer Bjork. // Come "C" my remix of her "Utopia."
- _The Acoustic Rabbit Hole_ Clique on the rainbow rabbit!
Am I the only one noticing she gets pissed when asked to sign that book? DIVA
Alejandro P. A. She's been cold from Iceland
It's mindless trivia, that's why.
I wonder if she knows she has Aspergers.
“Why are you gey?”
Interviewer: why are you creative?
Artist: [blah blah blah] my parents... [blah blah blah]
Bjork lets have babies..
i want to marry her
She is not a artist she is a cult
This is very poor
Check her political views, you ll be hugely disappointed
She looks mad asian
She ran out of steam a long time ago.
I think she is not very feminine. I rather see in Bjork the person without different sexy identity. She often seems like boy( her gestures, her mimics, her species, her fat eyebrows, her body), and also she has gerlish species. She is talanted, but not very feminine
Николай Невозмутимый you mean you see her as something more than her gender?
None of us is 100% male or 100% female. But I personally think of Björk as very feminine. Her music is also very feminine, sometimes very matriarchal. It's more that she doesn't follow our common aesthetic models (i.e. women must have thin eyebrows, must have a certain attitude, etc.)
You act like she has to be feminine to be validated
A very binary point of vue.
