    I don't think people realize that Bjork knows 100% what she's doing here when she says funny shit. Bjork is actually ridiculously smart and she'd been dealing with reporters for over a decade at this point. When she says "we don't have things like golf, squash, or stamp collecting," she's aware that it's funny, and she's aware that people will think she's just being naiive.

    • @BTaylor3444
      @BTaylor3444 10 лет назад +190

      Exactly, she runs circles around people by pretending to "play along" with them. She also doesn't do this in a rude or pretentious way but in a cutesy, elfin way, which people expect stereotypically. She kind of brilliantly exploits her stereotype, while exploiting all stereotypes at the same time.

      +Kelly Marie This interview WAS in the second half of the 90s + I know that she can speak much more fluent natural English + so I know that she's fooling Harald Schmidt + the studio/TV audience at this moment. Nothing "funny" about that, she's a very silly + affected person at this momemt. Not a problem for me coz I only like a few of her songs + her work with 808 State on the album "Ex:cel" (1991). But embarrassing for her to see her so foolish like THIS here....

    Bjork having full artistic control is really key to her career because her stuff is so out there and original and unique and it sounds great and works so well for her I couldn't imagine her singing over standard pop garbage. Instead she writes music utilizing dark minor modes and can sound really jarring and abstract and it fits so well with her voice and lyrics

      Great video and interview. My teacher in music school referenced her edgy tune, Army of Me, for a song written using the locrian mode. It is a minor-ish mode built on the 7th degree of a major scale. Very dark and thought provoking. I am fascinated with her stuff.

    I love Björk, she's adorable! I did watch "Dancer In The Dark" half an hour ago, and I love all her music! And of course I love her accent, she's so charming, her english is not perfekt, but sounds more sympathetic than for example Harald Schmidt's voice. :D
    And I really wanna go to Island!

    She is totally and utterly captivating! I've only just cottoned on to Bjork and have quite quickly become obsessed with her. She's so talented it's untrue, she pisses a magical, enchanting, eccentric charisma all over the place, her voice is lovely and she's fucking gorgeous!

    Harald Schmidt is known for his biting humour and sharp, intelligent sarcasm and for treating his guests so badly that many are almost afraid of him. The Anti-Fallon or Anti-Cordon, if you like. This was one of the rare moments when he was really nice to a guest. Obviously because he adores Björk so much.

    The only clothing designer I know Bjork really enjoys is Alexander McQueen. He did all the clothes for "Homogenic" album, he also designed the dresses in the "Pagan Poetry" music video and in the "Alarm Call" music video. She likes many more but I can't remember them right now--try google! I hope I answered your question a bit. Thanks for watching! ^_^
