"Trans-women" are no more women than people who have and will always vote for Republicans are Democrats. The identity has no verifiable basis in reality in the first place, and is at utter odds with what reality we can see in the second.

My son has autism and tourettes, he doesn't get a fraction of the support these "trans kids" get at school, his mother and I are constantly fighting to get him the support and educational help he needs to live an as close to normal life as possible, it makes me sick that we prioritise this kind of absolute crap over real world problems, if I didn't pay as much tax and national insurance he would be in a private school away from this rubbish

What are you arguing? There should be more help for special needs kids? Or less help for transgender ones? Because I don't see how arguing for supporting ANY child somehow takes away from yours. And I'm bi-polar, ADHD, and autistic.
None of us felt comfortable in our bodies during puberty and teenage years. We dealt with it, and as we grew older we came to terms with our insecurities. We didn’t pretend to be a different gender just because we didn’t yet know exactly where we fit in.

Most kids would discuss this issue with their parents though. If your kid feels more comfortable talking to their teacher, than to their parent, perhaps then it is the parents fault for creating a home environment where the child is scared to talk to them about issues.
As a child, I used to think and proclaim that I was "Goku" from Dragon Ball Z! Looking back, I now realize it was just childhood imagination. If my son expresses in school that he is "Goku," I hope it remains a part of his creative play and not something misconstrued into a serious matter, such as his Gender Identity which leeds to altering his appearance through surgery.

I’m a primary school teacher. I’m not qualified to diagnose Trans kids. That’s the job of the parents to take their kids to the doctors/psychologists. If something comes up from the child I’ll report it a CP issue. It’s not my job to deal with that. It’s a stupid idea and the government just needs to ban school intervention and place it squarely on the parents shoulders. Simple as that

Exactly! I am also a teacher and my role is not to diagnose gender disphoria, it isn't to be a psychologist, not call children they, zwig, or a cat. I am there to teach them my own specialist subject, and be a good and positive adult role model in their lives. This includes to make sure they become moral young humans who learn respect, resilience, responsibility, kindness, sharing, hard work and become independent. A teacher's job is also to help them learn a range of curriculum areas (Writing, Reading, Inquiry/Science, Maths, Languages, Art, Music, Physical education etc.).
Teachers just repeat what they read in a book or what someone else told them. They are paid parrots. So repeat what the state tells you.
Come teach at my school please. But seriously, can you please make your voice heard, because we need that before we get to the point of no return.
If you want to get your Driving Licence you need to be at least 18 years old, But if you want to change your gender you can do this as a kid.....

If you feel a child will be in danger then you go to police or child protective services. You don't keep secrets with children not yours as an adult and educator.

As a teacher, I hate all the responsibility that is often put on us to do the job of parents. We are not doctors, we are not psychologists. I don't want to be keeping any "secrets" from anyone ! Yet the way legislation is going we are feeling constant pressure.
I don't want to teach children about trans adults. But I also understand the importance of putting children first (yes, even above their parents) this is something that should always be done in order to safeguard the child. They should always be given a voice.

Many of my close friends are teachers. One of their schools had students protest that they wanted kitty litter installed in the toilets because some of them identify as cats. It got as far as being actually considered by the education department. Ridiculous.

I'm so sick and tired of hearing the argument that children commit suicide solely because they are not called by their preferred pronouns. Unfortunately, kids tragically take their lives for various reasons, including bullying, but often those underlying issues go unnoticed. Adriana Kuch's story, for example, highlights a real and heart-breaking consequence of bullying that doesn't receive the attention it deserves. The only time you hear about a child's suicide is when they are not accepted for reasons beyond pronouns, which is not the case and this is usually used by people like Paula, Ava, etc to push an idea. If everyone took their own lives due to not being accepted or called by their desired name, the population crisis people speak of would not be a problem. The real issues behind child suicide have nothing to do with pronouns but more with bullying, cyberbullying, etc. These are not made-up issues; a child doesn't commit suicide simply because someone refuses to call them by their preferred pronouns.
Being accepted is a HUGE thing during adolescence. I think young people just need to feel accepted and have like minded people (positive adult role models) around them. Name calling should not happen in a family. Western families are broken for many reasons. I think some money spent on mental health for working class families would be a good direction. Forcing pronouns isn't going to make much of a difference. Leaving children alone also helps a great deal too, many kids just want to live a day where they ain't being bullied at home and in school. I have an extensive background in working with adolescent kids in the system and mostly, the problems came from the parents not being parents. The kids I worked with wanted support and instead had substance abusing parents who told their kids not to smoke and drink while smoking and drinking. Then, name calling them on top of that. So, yeah. Additionally, many parents I worked with never wanted to be parents in the first place.
100%. Plus, even if they are committing suicide over pronouns, they should be taught by teachers, parents and society that being mispronouned isn't a big deal and they should just move on. We need to raise strong kids, not fragile weaklings.
I think that while we should try to respect a child’s gender if they are actually transgender and are transitioning with the correct pronouns after a certain stage and all that, I don’t think that we should be harshly punished if someone accidentally misgenders someone. But, if someone has transitioned and then another kid is like actually bullying them for being trans, or using teh wrong pronouns to insult them, absolutely punish them.

People need to learn that other people are not going to be respectful all the time, and while that sucks, they wouldn't lose their jobs over it or go to jail. Words hurt and should be redirected and such but not much past that.

This generation rates kids choices WAAAY to highly. Until they're a legal adult, they are the parents responsibility and so any major life choices need to be made with their parents being made aware and agreeing with them

Why not use the cat analogy? My son's friend had exactly this happen in his class at school in London. He got up and announced he was identifying as a cat. After a few seconds all the rest of the class started BARKING and chasing him around the class. They were winding the teacher up.
