    Very nicely done. I have the Elitebook 8670w and I thought the keyboard replacement would be a technological horror story. THANKS!

    Great job. You can upgrade a non lit keyboard to a lit one if you wanted a backlit feature. Just an extra wire to plug in. The location exists on the motherboard already.

    Hi. Veri nice video. I was wondering if you can make a video about how to fix the lan port of this laptop, because mine stopped working. Thanks in advance.

    I have a 8770w.. Is an 8760w keyboard compatible?

    • @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101
      @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101  10 месяцев назад

      It depends which version 8760w keyboard it is. 90% of them are interchangeable with the 8770W, but there are a few that aren't.

    How can I know if the pins on the ribbon cable are lined up properly? I disassembled my 8760w a few days ago and now the keyboard doesn't work or doesn't work properly. Depending on how the ribbon cable sits, it either doesn't respond to any key presses or displays the incorrect character (eg. pressing E will result in 3, Z gives a $, some keys display something while others don't at all, etc)

    • @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101
      @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101  4 года назад

      If the cable is not damaged it will not have any play to move or shift right to left. It will be a perfect fit with no gap on either side for it to slide off alignment. So if your cable has enough room to slide in and out of alignment with the pins it means you either have the wrong keyboard or the ribbon cable has been damaged.

    I have trouble removing the far right side of the keyboard the left side I got off easily, but the right side is giving me trouble. I don’t know why it’s giving me such a hard time.

    • @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101
      @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101  8 месяцев назад +1

      Either you still have one more screw to remove, or the keyboard is glued by double sided tape from the bottom.

    • @guardianoftexas5188
      @guardianoftexas5188 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 that’s what I’m thinking don’t got a tool to help ease it up.

    • @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101
      @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@guardianoftexas5188@guardianoftexas5188 Try using a hair dryer from a safe distance so you don't damage the laptop, and once the double-sided tape is warmed up, it will be much easier to open. Again double and triple-check for a screw first because if there is one more screw that you forgot to remove, forcing it will damage the laptop.
