The game has multiple modes which including colouring in, exploring racing and missions. I just record a few random missions as there doesn't appear to be any particular amount needed to achieve anything. I record the full race modes as well. You can also colour in any of the supplied characters and those colour choices will be used in the game. The game also has an interesting use of speech samples. -

This game is sooooo under rated. Really quiet surprised revisiting this and how enjoyable it is.
The sheer amount of voice work for a mega drive game is insane, although its weird hearing an American accent in a Thomas the Tank Engine game.
Willing to bet that PAL region releases of the game probably had a British man doing the voice samples. Hearing an American accent in this game isn't so strange to me since we had George Carlin doing the narration of the first four series/seasons of Thomas the Tank Engine here in the States, although we did initially get the original Ringo Starr narrations for series/seasons 1 & 2 before PBS decided to hire Carlin to redub them for American audiences.

But what’s odd is that even though the SNES game of TtTE was developed in America and has an American announcer, it got a UK release! They did change any mention of Freight Cars and Sir Topham Hatt to Trucks and The Fat Controller respectively, but aside from that, it appears to be the exact same game

On one hand, it doesn't look great... but on the other I respect the effort. They actually tried to do something with the series in a video game and the presentation isn't awful.
I remember my friend and I trying this out on SEGA Channel back in the 90s . The amount of digitized speech is pretty impressive for a Genesis game. Makes me wonder how much space those voice samples take up on the cartridge even as bit crushed as they are. This game is 1 megabyte (8 Megabits) and they'd have to lower the sampling rate to keep all of those samples smaller than 8 Kb because that's all the audio RAM the Genesis has to hold that data. But it has to fit them into that 8 Kb along with all of the music and SFX sequencing instructions the two sound chips use on top of that.
Even though this game is weird, it's unusually to see the mega drive having much speech sounds with this clear audio quality... Nice video.
besides the creepy faces, and even more creepy voice, the games doesn't seem that bad.
It's really not the game's fault that the game looks somewhat creepy. Trust me, the real show is not that creepy.

Used to play this on my grandma’s sega genesis along with sonic the hedgehog, sonic 2 and sonic spinball when I was very little probably like 2 or 3 years old. Good ol nostalgic memories right here. When I get the chance I’m going to try and get this to play on my retron3

I think I have played when I was three or four years old. In other words, I remembered when I was young, I watched Thomas the Tank Engine, and I loved it. It was one of my favorite shows in my childhood.
I played it a lot of times when i was 5, and it was a very fun game to me tbh. I was a big pro at it though 🤣
I had a PC port of this in the late 90s, and I guarantee, you didn't miss much. The game was pitifully easy, regardless of which difficulty you select. Plus the game has no real ending. You deliver some cars without a time limit, you race a few engines, that's about it.

Overall this game is ok. The nes one is also ok. But the snes was cheap and lazy. Actually Nintendo got the pretty mediocre Thomas games while sega got a decent one
