I’ve been a NICU nurse on the East Coast for 25+ years now and yes each week up to ten preemies, of all socioeconomic classes and races, die. This has been the pattern since I first started working, way back when.

How many of those babies mothers are married? How many are on welfare? These issues are key to this problem.

@MorganaEly no, personal responsibility is the reason. Taking your kid to doctor BEFORE the disaster is not banned in US. America has personal responsibility problem, not quality or even acces to healthcare . This stuff is fine.

Why is the English content from Al Jazeera unable to be seen in the US? Luckily I have a VPN and can see it when I switch my location to another country. Is it that Al Jazeera is choosing not to show it to the American audience?

“WE’RE PROUD OF THE EFFORT”….. excuse me? What effort? Cutting programs… making it nearly impossible for POC to secure decent jobs.. health care… a roof over their heads… food for themselves and their babies… cmon. COME TF ON! UNacceptable. ABSOLUTELY DISTURBING. WE NEED TO HELP THESE PEOPLE… We need to change this. This is unacceptable on every level.

The system is so messed up! In fact, I'm actually being financially punished for NOT having kids!

This is an outrage. People like that senator are a disgrace. I noticed that this was filmed in 2013. I pray that he and others like him are voted put. America should be ashamed. But because this is happening to a people who dont have political clout or money then its ok. One day when we stand before Jesus and he asks why did you let my children suffer so, what can we say?

I wish this wasn't the only Al-Jazeera video that I've been able to see all week. What's going on with this channel?

This makes me angry. Of course the politicians don't care. Makes me mad he cant even talk about it...he probably was a racist. These politicians shouldn't make so much money so we have people who actually care about people and not money in offices.

truer words could not have been said, a state or a community operating solely on welfare rarely work, the Scandinavian states being the obvious exceptions of course.

Let us settle one thing, the problem isn't race, it's poverty. What I mean is that race itself is not a factor in this except that in a white, racist state such as the US most blacks are forced to live in poverty.
In a dog eat dog culture based on hatred and violence such as the US these problems are endemic to society. It should be of concern to every American that one of the prime indicators of the collapse of the USSR was high infant mortality.

why didn't they tell her she was having a girl, and that she had a birth defect?? they can tell all that on an ultrasound, and they can't detect birth defects through the mother's blood. smh

There are many blacks living ok in America. Don't have kids when you are poor. End of the case.

watching this video I actually felt sadness and this high about infant mortality rate in this CLEVELAND city and this needs to improved. I am sorry, to see and hear death of children the whole world particularly African American. For me, I think that it can be attributed for the poverty and lack of care for the pregnant women. I hope, best for the children and pregnant women in the all the world.!!!

It is truly aweful that so many children die when it could be prevented, and that the state is not doing everything they can to change this.. But I did think to myself throughout the show that perhaps it would be a good idea to also try and stop this at the root. Why is so many getting pregnant when they are in a situation where they can't take care of themselfs during the pregnancy without the states help? Getting pregnant is almost always a choice (choosing not to use protection). Why are so many girls getting pregnant when they can barely take care of themselfs? Not blaming these people, simply saying that there is more than a lack of state fundings etc that's causing so many babies to suffer...

Getting pregnant is almost always a choice ??? Most places in the world , it is not a choice ! not at all ! And now with Mr. Trump ?? :-(

    • @saravdb6897
      @saravdb6897 7 лет назад

In America you have condoms do you not..? Trump took away abortion, which is upsetting ofcourse. But condoms is still available. So; it is almost always a choice.

You write with spaces and enters in weird places so its a bit hard to understand you. But I dont live in the US, I live in Sweden. We are one of the least religious countries in the world (which is awesome), so whatever you wrote about christians and racists dont apply on me. All i wanted to say was; there is plenty of girls who could just use a rubber and dont have kid when theyre not ready for it. And i wrote that in the commentsection of THIS vid, that was in the US where most people have a choice.

Sara vdB where’s the other parent that helped create this baby? This question is never asked and this is why they will go on create more kids that only the mother has to take care of

  • @jaelynn7575

Please ladies, Please stop having so many kids you cannot afford. It's not what people do and it's not going to make life better for you, your kids or for society. You have the stress, the kids are more likely to grow up in poverty, suffer abuse and stay in poverty. Society has to pick up the tab.

Ahhhh yes. The good old victim blaming. You must be white. And if you’re not. You should be ashamed of yourself.. you should be anyway.. you’re too uneducated n too ignorant to even be speaking on such subject that you DO NOT understand and have not experienced. You’re an idiot… I’m sorry but you’re a very ignorant person who clearly doesn’t understand the system and why this shits happening which makes me pretty sure you’re white.
