Very impressed with how easy this was!! Just used these steps for the first time for a file someone gave me to use that was way too low and this worked perfectly!!! Thank you for your channel!
This is definitely helpful. thank you for sharing this. My question then will be, do i upload them with the white background and the clients can then remove the background to use them for their various projects?
This is the perfect video for using free tools to get the job done, but i have one question.. when i am making png files to use for crafty projects ie: sublimating a mug or for a print for a t-shirt and i follow your instructions is that all i do or is there another step required ? I only want to create the image so it can be used for different projects, hope this makes sense as i'm new to creating quality images.
Hi Rui, the most obvious example would be a Christmas themed clipart bundle. Etsy has not mentioned whether it considers digital as giftable, so be aware of that.
I have a digital supplies question. I am an artist. I have an archive of digital drawings. Many are themed and some are coloring pages, some are greeting card designs. I’ve been watching a lot your videos. Your reviews say get specific. If I’m digital supplies, is it specific enough to have sun niches like “greeting card - (theme names)” and “Coloring pages -(theme)” or is that confusing the algorithm? Everything will be hand drawn digitally.
@@etsyconsultant But I google it and found "This program includes the Text to Image Generator feature (Image Generator) and the Brand Kit. The Terms of Use for Designer (including Image Generator) state that it is for personal use only and not for use in the course of trade or commerce." Am I overlook any information?
Thank you for your video. the trick is to be able to sell them. I have been doing mockups on midjourney and I am able to sell them on Etsy, but the competition is fierce. Any tips on how to be more competitive on ETSY in the AI image niche?
The problem with that is that as soon as you upload a transparent background image to upscale and save it, the new unpscaled image is saved with a black or white background.
one big issue is the white background. Literally no-one wants a coloured product with a white square around the main pic . I would always remove the background. Literally no one sells PNGs with a background colour unless its part of the actual subject/picture.
.... And I thought you're so anti-AI? I've watched almost all of your videos, which has taught me a lot. In many of them, you slam AI. Now I'm confused.......😉😂🤭
Hi Jessica thanks for your comment. There is nothing being stolen here. I don't doubt that rules will change one day surrounding AI, Etsy has put it's support behind it in a recent statement from Josh Silverman.
@@etsyconsultant Stealing art is precisely how AI works. Hi there, thanks for your comment. My mistake - yes you need to remove the background before listing.
Thank you! I have been struggling all morning with Designer cutting off my images. Just tried your method and it worked!
No problem!
'Isolated on a white background' usually does the job in any generator.
@@TravelPointDotOne-ku4eh thank you!!!
thanks this was so easy. After doing this do we still need to make the picture transparent or just download it to a png file. thanks
Hi there, yes my mistake, I would remove the background.
Do we need to also remove the background for this image to print correctly for a client?

thank you so much for your help so quick and easy yet so effective and excellent. Bless you 😊

can anyone help me pls with my question. After doing this do we still need to make the picture transparent or just download it to a png file. thanks
Hi there thanks for your comment, yes I would remove the background.
Great tutorial. I would definitely remove the background and sharpen it up. Mine came out somewhat blurry even after I upscaled it.
Thanks Karen, yes background removal is useful for transparent PNG's
Hello.
Hope you are fine.
One question how can i Turn clipart into giftable mode?
Thanks to you
Hi Rui, the most obvious example would be a Christmas themed clipart bundle. Etsy has not mentioned whether it considers digital as giftable, so be aware of that.
So, is selling PNGs better than doing POD? Is it a good idea to start a new shop and upload 1 design a day?
My general answer here would be yes. POD is insanely hard to crack, PNG's are not easy, but not as difficult as POD.
I'm new to the PNG files and selling. Could I ask what people use these files for?
Putting them on shirts, mugs etc…
Hi there, putting them on tshirts, as @Oneil1570 mentioned below, thank you
@@etsyconsultantcake toppers too.😊
Can i do this on an iPad if i don’t have a laptop ?

That's fine.
Is that allow for commercial use and sell the images?
Yes.

Glad it was helpful!
You can use this image, that you didn't pay for it, to sell on Etsy?
You can create clipart with AI yes.
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
Do we need to make it with a transparent backround when we send the buyer the file?
No, you don't. You can make a separate listing for a transparent version, or sell both together if you like.
Nice! Thank you!
No problem
So if I create png file and use it to a t shirt would it be legal to sell it on Etsy?
Yes, that would be fine.
but png usually don't have background
Hi there, I created this file with a white background which would work for white products, however you can remove the background.
Thank you for your video.
the trick is to be able to sell them. I have been doing mockups on midjourney and I am able to sell them on Etsy, but the competition is fierce. Any tips on how to be more competitive on ETSY in the AI image niche?
Research, creativity and lots of images.
THIS 100%. For every successful design created dozens will fail.
Great quick video, though I feel like you should have included a background remover tool such as remove.bg and then upscaled.
I agree. I think you needed to talk about removing the background and saving it as a transparent png. Just my opinion.
True, nobody wants a png with a big white square around it SMH
The problem with that is that as soon as you upload a transparent background image to upscale and save it, the new unpscaled image is saved with a black or white background.
Thanks for the suggestion, noted!
@@LisaShoemake Indeed, I have noted this.
The problem here for me is that once you convert to 300 dpi the background needs to be transparent, not white.
The file came out as .jpg not .png Did I do something wrong?
No, you didn't do anything wrong, I missed a step in the video. Use canva to change it to a PNG.

Hi, I am not anti AI I am anti low effort AI. AI is part of a design process, this video is about supplies, these dont need much modification.
Thank you for this!❤
No problem, thanks for watching.
The Image Upscaler only gives me 3 credits for free, and that isn't enough to upscale x 4 😢
Have a look around, there are a lot of upscaler sites which have varying free offers.
Forgot to ask… these images can be for commercial use?
Yes
Yes but double check whatever software you use because they all have different rules and requirements.
@@Oneil1570 Ok, thanks!
Yes
Thanks
Encouraging art theft is gross. May not be illegal as of yet but sure is unethical.
