Art is so powerful isn’t it? Surprise tears and joy. There’s something about seeing Jung kook honor usher here and just both of their fun and beautiful performances that get you in the heart. So looking for a behind the scenes for this one!
I loved that JK did defer to Usher at certain points-staying slightly behind him, etc.-after all, he is paying a bit of homage to this other icon/idol, and also loved that Usher did his own choreo at certain points. Just loved it-the vocals were great-just an iconic, rather epic pairing!
I don't think they are trying to outshine themselves in the video, JK has a lot of RESPECT for Usher, you have to remember JK is only 26 and Usher 43, Jk has expressed in the past that he has always admired Usher since he was little, the space he gave him during the song to do his art is pure respect, Usher is an incredible singer, performer and dancer and JK it is too!! The tearing? yes...we all got that, it is an outstanding collaboration! The camaraderie during rehearsals and the Tik Toks they did together reflect how good they got along.
Tearing? Oh yeah! That's a normal reaction to see art and history being created 😊 To me, JK's solo version is the greatest, but this has another component: two greatest artists together (re)creating musical history. And the best thing, I think, is: two humble artists! None of them wanting to be THE star and, this way, shining, both, even brighter!
Ooh forgot you didn’t react to the choreography video. They killed it. Usher was such a perfect person to collab with. Especially knowing Usher was friends with MJ and had the opportunity to dance with him. It all just comes together. 💗 ALSO! Jimin just dropped a song called Closer Than This. A little something for the fans while he’s away in the military. Would love to see your reaction to that 🥹💜 And no, every time BTS collabs with any other western artist, they give them the spotlight. They’re always humble and always show love to whoever it is. They treat everyone with respect.
Nathan, yes Jungkook's hair is different- shorter than before- he said that he was going to gradually make it shorter to prepare for military enlistment ......fantastic remix for stars of different eras, age wise....and Usher still has all the moves - Jungkook always seems to create that camaraderie with those he works with- you also see it with Jack Harlow. I think he is very easy to work with..and always looks like he is having fun. So today when you spoke about reverb....I actually knew what you were talking about! Getting input from a producer really focuses attention on aspects that one might not be aware of - adds to the appreciation of the song, so thank you! 🙏💜
It made me tear up when I first heard it too… It’s pretty great to hear them not try to overpower each other, but just it just blends like it is now as it was always like this way… they compliment each other perfectly…
I feel like it’s been so long since we had big pop names collab in a way that hits this good! I had also forgotten how damn smooth Usher sounds…the layers of subtle harmonies between him and Jungkook are so gorgeous.
So true the first I thought but not to take away anything from this incredible young man. These young kids idolized MJ and to see how talented he is is totally awesome. MJ is smiling
I heard Usher will perform at the Superbowl. Can you imagine how crazy the crowd would get if JK walked onto the stage to perform with him? 🤯 Too bad JK is in the military now.
You missed JK hit the "Peace up, A-Town down" symbol as they were walking away! Epic, 3 generations in one video! MJ's spirit was all over this! Also, check out MJ's old video Dancing Machine.
May I suggest going back to that part where you started to tear up (at your 8:10 mark) because Usher does a move with his necklace that I just love. His voice is so smooth, and when BTS was asked a long time ago in an interview which artists they would like to work with. Jungkook said Justin Timberlake and Usher. He visualized this!! I think Usher adds such a great dimension to this song and the video, and I feel like he shared space with JK and amplified him while bringing his own flavor. New video suggestion, since you have an affinity for Jimin, and you want to learn about more great K-Pop artists, check this out Taeyang - VIBE (Feat. Jimin of BTS) Live Clip. Jimin's number one artist in K-Pop that he emulated and wanted to work with is Taeyang from BigBang, who has a beautiful voice, and this live version is my personal favorite. Enjoy! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and I'm looking forward to more reactions ahead.
Two generations with passion, dedication and love for music and dance, a very professional and fun collaboration, there are behind the scenes where you can see the camaraderie and comfortable that they felt together 💜
You like jazz? Check out Samara Joy. She's 24 years old and won Grammys for Best New Artist and Best Jazz Vocal Album in 2023. Her Grammy performance of 'Can't Get Out Of This Mood' is amazing.
It takes me back! Usher is still the charismatic performer he's always been! And I look at him supporting JK in their nod to another great performer! It certainly made me emotional. JK is so darn humble about the success of this album! He looked up to Usher all during his early days. Draws you to him even more! I understand Usher fit this in during his residency in L.V. Props to him. Now that JK is in the military, people will be waiting to see what's next even more in 2025! Way to go Nathan!!!❤
BTS members always show respect and humility whenever they collaborate that's why i love them so much.. they don't have to prove anything to anybody..💜
Yes shout out to big daddy usher still rocking it at the age of 45 And to baby JK we miss you so much please come back soon. JK gave a lot of gift to army before he enlist to military. This is perfect collab from the two GOAT of POP!!!
En mi opinión la colaboración del año. Estuvo en su punto. Buena química entre ambos. Mucho respeto y admiración de JUNGKOOK hacía USHER. Fue increíble verlos hacer esta performance juntos. Un éxito verdadero. Gracias por traer la reacción 😊
His dancers are well known and so famous love the dancers as well they bring a different element to it. I cant wait till 2025 it cant come soon enough.
Great way to start the day!! I have watched this video several times and see something new each time. This time I caught Usher did his necklace around the neck move. Merry Christmas here’s a little Christmas cheer from V recorded six months ago Le Jazz de V live clip. Cheers!!
O! This was such an iconic performance & remix. Can't get enough of both of them. I can't thank them enough for bringing back the MJ era right here. I loved the way you teared up unknowingly. It did happen for most of us. I mean who could have dreamt this could happen. Thank you 💜🎶✨
What an uplifting start to my day watching your reaction! I love that you shared you forgot about Usher, being caught up in the moment focusing on Jungkook's vocals - something I love about your reactions - getting into and explaining details I know nothing about. I always learn something from you. Thank you!
This is one of the best collabs! JK and Jimin are big fans of Usher and have said in the past that they would love to collab with him. I know how much you love Jimin's tone also and Jimin has a new song for ARMY released last night. Closer Than This
I love the symbolism J K did with the bowing of the microphone as to pay further respects to MJ. One thing with BTS and Stray Kids as well as a great deal of other KPOP idols they are very gracious with other artist they work with on colabs or performances. I'm sure they used BTS choreographers, too. I I would also love to hear a Bruno Mars remix and a Weekend remix of this.
Love this reaction!!! And yeah Nathan....banter was the word. Great to see you can still get so excited over a music video. It's obvious you loved being 'in the band' and you totally dated yourself with the bellbottom remark. 😄 And that relaxing jazz music is awesome btw.
Nathaaan! such a delight to watch 😂😅 even when you sometimes get lost for words or whatever, funny part where you said your eyes were tearing up and questioned it yourself haha.. “what’s happening” 😅😂 🫰🏼🫰🏼🫰🏼💜
I really feel like this video and especially the end was almost a passing of the torch to the next King of Pop, much like Michael Jackson did to Usher. I absolutely teared up at the end.
Both artists here shined in their own ways. JK being a huge fan of Ushers, since he was younger, of course definitely let Usher be....Usher...with all respect. Alot of haters were out there sayin' JK couldn't dance as well as Usher blah blah blah.....as usual someone always stirring the pot. JK paid homage to his faves and that is monumental. I think these two have future collaboration together...they blend SO frickin' well together. Thanks for your great reaction !!!! All you haters go look in your mirrors and love yourself please ! 💜🙏💜🙏💜🙏💜🙏💜🙏💜
Jungkook, when he started doing solo, (he always did solo covers) he did a song with Charlie Puth. It was Charlie's song featuring Jungkook but JK was in most of the video.... It's called "Left and Right". Oh, Jungkook's hair? It's for military service... they left last week. So you're asking for different music to react to... I've been watching a group: (Blackmore's Night - The Circle (A Knight in York, 2012) 133K subscribers) that you might try... they mostly do Ren Faire music, oh, I'm old but... anyway, 'The Circle' is a great New Year's song. And they are a really good band. Happy Holidays.
They did have some banter in there too. JK: Standing next to you. Usher: I'm standing right here. Then JK taps him to go to the other side and as he moves Usher says "I'm not going anywhere". lol. It was a really nice collab where Usher brought something different to the table and no one tried to outshine the other in my opinion. I think that BTS, when they collab with those they look up to especially, they don't seem to mind giving them a bit more spotlight as a way to honor them.
1:35 Now we know the reason for that... Bro gave himself a short bowl cut in his trip to Japan with Jimin, right before shooting this😅 I can tell stylist really did some WORK to make it look cool like that😂
Nathan I just want to say thank you for these videos. I really enjoy your perspective and insight. I'd love to see you do some of their older songs too like Danger, Fire, Pied Piper, Dimple etc. I hope you're having fun fall down the rabbit hole with us!
BTS is well known for letting collaborators shine. Thats why everyone is happy to work with them.. one content creator fan said they temporarily become another member of BTS where everybody gets their moment in the sun.
The bell bottoms add a lot more movement. Not a huge fan of Usher, enjoyed him here. Not sure why, I have trouble understanding his voice sometimes. I have hearing issues too (not hearing things well, unless it's sharp) , so I am sure that plays apart. I can listen and watch JK 24/7. 63 here and never was big fan of any soloist....other than MJ. BTS brought me back to life with their music! A good collaboration.
As of todays generation BTS is the phenomenal and superstar boy group because of their exemplenary ,unique and one of a kind talent each one of them has. I'm a big fan of your group , I know you have a nice voice I would like to recommend Jin song epiphany live version, jin song yours and jungkook stay alive, I know you love to listen nice and natural voice try to listen to it.
I love your reactions!! would love to see you react to someone that wasn't BTS or related to them. of courrse you reacting to NSYNC was my fav video you did!! STRAY KIDS THE KING OF KPOP
A BTS member will alwys humbly yield to the artist they collab with. They don’t need to flex on a cherished legend.
agree to that!💜
I literally just said that before I went to the comments
Lol

That dance break duet makes me me so so so happy! They're both so good at what they do, and having so much fun 😁
I am still amazed that Usher is collaborating with Jung Kook. In person, in dance! Wow. What a way to wrap up his work on this album.
It made me tear up when I first heard it too… It’s pretty great to hear them not try to overpower each other, but just it just blends like it is now as it was always like this way… they compliment each other perfectly…

Oh yes I second the recommendation to check out Taeyang “Vibe” featuring Jimin, or Taeyang “Seed” - especially since you love piano.
This featuring was great!!! To have the opportunity to watch the boys perform with people they look up to is amazing!!!

Absolutely loved this reaction. Grew up listening to Usher and this was just legendary.
Speaking of jazz, V did a Tiny Desk Concert with an R&B/jazz vibe. It's such a great jam session with his band.
J.K let Usher do the scong half off his song, that is how he is our humble Idol
