If I remember well, Dynamite was the first BTS song all in English…..For the little story, it was hard for them to sing in English, except RM….and when the journalists asked V which part of the song was easier to sing, he replied : « na na na na na na 🎶 « …😂😂😂

I really hope you get the chance to react to Jimin’s high notes and raspy voice video. His voice is so unique and angelic. He’s my absolute KPOP bias and has been since day 1. I also love Jk, V and Jin’s voice as well especially Jin’s in the Japanese song’s they have. Don’t get me wrong I love RM, Suga and J-hope to I just have a soft spot for the vocal line especially Jimin. Thank you for your reactions Nathan💜
It took me a bit to get names right to so no worry. Also yes they do love MJ. This song has alot of MJ dances. A fact that the 40 year anniversary of thriller documentary has a side by side of MJs move with BTS and they mentioned BTS in the documentary. I think MJ would live and be proud of these guys. And would be honored as well. I'm happy they were mentioned and showed a side by side of them together were MJ is doing his moves and BTS is doing some moves in this video that pretty much match. Yes this was the song that got them their 1st grammy nomination and should of won. They had the numbers by a land slide but you know Scammies and all that. I enjoy watching you react to these guys. I see you really enjoy Jimins voice. My bias is Suga. His lyrics and delivery strikes right I the hearts he has a way to make you feel what he is feeling. Same as Jin tied bias because his passion way of singing just draws you in. But truly they all are. I've never heard such different yet amazing voices that come tether to make the perfect harmonies in one group before. Thanks for you continued reaction and support to BTS AND ARMY.

No worries about identifying the members correctly the first few months. It took me a long time to tell Jk, Jin, and Suga apart bc their facial structures are similar. And I’m an Asian too. Now, I can tell them apart just by glancing at them.
I had trouble if I saw J-Hope when he wasn’t smiling. I kept wanting to say he was Suga. I have always felt Jin and JK could be biological brothers or cousins at least.
For me, I mistook J-Hope for Jin but I quickly distinguished them by their smile and voice. But if you really love them, you recognize them easy soon.
It only took me two days to recognize them... it wasn't difficult, and i've known them for three years now...
I had problem because when I thought that I could recognize them, because V was the guy with mint hair and Jimin was blonde, the next time Suga was the mint hair guy and RM was blonde.
Then I decided to do like the people from the immigration department at the airport and check only their ears, eyes, noises and mouths, and it was easy!!
Lmao I too am Asian but had some difficulty. Now I can tell by their shadow lmaooo. Don't beat yourself up if you can't get it right at first.

@@NathanWalters There are so many good videos that it's hard to choose. I personally like "BTS were wild in 2020" by bunnyswag, and "when BTS don't understand English" by Sadgry will never not be funny to me. I'm sure other viewers have some more great suggestions.

Thanks Nathan. I don't always 'hear' the various instruments, but I will always remember first hearing BTS' incredible use of the sax in 'Dope'. I've long been a fan of the sax...I listen to a lot of Dave Matthews music where the sax is featured pretty prominently (RIP LeRoi Moore). Have you ever listened to Paolo Nutini? When I first discovered BTS in 2020, I could tell RM, J Hope, Jimin apart right away! The other four were harder. It is embarrassing now. I can tell them apart with just a quick look! Do not feel bad!

I'm an older music lover from different genres.
I'm 63.
My first Korean musician I liked was/is Seo Taiji.
He changed a lot in the Korean music industry.
Then years later the first Korean musicians I liked again was/is BTS.
They literally opened the doors for other Korean musicians.
By some awards they have now K-pop awards.
RM Suga JHope Jin Jungkook V Jimin are very different/unique with their own take on life.
BTS inspired a lot of musicians too.
At the moment while each BTS member is doing and going to do their mandatory military service other Korean musicians are following their example.
BTS collaborated with UNICEF.
This year another Korean group called Seventeen followed in their footsteps and collaborated with UNESCO Youth Forum.
The Seventeen fans can tell you all about it.
BTS was invited at the White House.
This year year another Korean group called Blackpink (a female group who doesn't have mandatory military service) also followed in their footsteps.

Yes, the BTS members love Micheal Jackson, but they also get their inspiration from other musicians and in return other musicians are getting inspired by them.

It always starts with listening, enjoying, exploring, trying, creating, making your own.
The reason why I like BTS is because, they can write, compose, produce and are also complimenting others who help them.
They are story tellers.
I like Nightwish (symphonic metal) they are story tellers too.
Nightwish and BTS both totally different are unique, getting inspired by art, nature, poets, books etc.

It’s all Benny, and he’s playing a manic BTS army - he is even wearing Jimin’s Dynamite video lavender outfit! Its hilarious.
During the making of this, RM had fun, making fun of the clothes that they had to wear. The pastels at the beginning and end. He said they looked like Teletubbies 😅 Started calling each one Tele-tubby names 😅 loved it!

Dynamite was to cheer up everyone around the world during the pandemic, and also should've won a Grammy to which many ARMY call the "Scammys" now because of the loss.
Fun Fact: the pastel outfits worn in the BTS Dynamite video were auctioned off and the proceeds went to MusiCares, an organization that helped out of work concert staff during the pandemic. Borahae! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 OT7

I never get sick of hearing you say you love Jimin’s voice and tone because that’s my reaction too every time I hear him.
I studied music at school In the 90’s and definitely remember the verse / chorus and key change structure when we had to compose our own music.
The English songs are what introduced me to BTS and the subsequent rabbit hole. One thing I’ve noticed after watching this is how much their English pronunciation has improved over the last few years.

If I’m not wrong, Jimjn’s solo song “Lie” moves back and forth from a minor key to a major key in the chorus. If you haven’t heard it yet you should. I prefer the live stage performance rather than the music video. Either way you can’t go wrong. Thank you for your wonderful reaction videos!!
If you want to hear a song with an awesome cord progression, check out Lie from Jimin. Not the live version, because it's harder to hear all of the music. I think you will find it very interesting. 💜

I can honestly say that finding BTS during Covid lockdowns not only kept me sane, but brought me so much joy. Look at how bright and cheery looking this video is, along with Permission to Dance and Butter, and even the somewhat melancholy Life Goes On. Knowing that they had to cancel their Map of the Soul tour in April, these songs were a real gift from BTS to ARMY, and new ARMY like me, to lift our spirits and go forward.
the B side version of the mv is also a fun watch, they went even sillier with it :')
The reason I didn't lost my mind during many months in lockdown and never gained wait was because of this song. It can be the only Bts song I know all the choreography. People now may not understand, but this song felt like a ray of sunshine and brought so much happiness to anyone listening to it
They do love MJ. There was a special fan concert for their 2018 Festa (their yearly debut anniversary celebration) where Jimin and JK danced to MJs Black & White. Dynamite is just a straight MJ tribute. The choreo makes that obvious. Also the outfits in their live performance for the 2020 MMAs are all rifs off some of MJs most famous looks. If you do watch their 2020 MMA performance, know that only 6 of them are present because this was when Suga had his long awaited shoulder reconstruction and he was recovering. But, as with all performances when he was missing, they did not fill his spot in the music nor choreo, and in fact often highlighted his place with a spotlight and left a space for him in their starting or ending lineup, etc., to show he was loved, missed and needed. Their choreography is often top-notch performance art storytelling with a lot communicated in the moves in regards to story, but in this case not as much. Here they are basically communicating a 70s and early 80s upbeat disco funk sort of joy of dance/being alive. The colors, fashion, sets, and other little choero shoutouts like to Kid 'n Play are all callbacks to this era. Even the filter on the camera. As someone who graduated HS in the 80s this all feels very nostalgic to me.
This was their first all English track and was released during the pandemic as a mental health support song for ARMY and the world, meant to be pure, uplifting sugar. They were feeling very down and the world was suffering and, in true BTS style, they wanted to use their music to spread love and healing. They had no idea it would blow up like literal dynamite and get them their first BB Hot 100 #1 and they were completely shocked. It's so different to most of their deeper or more hip hop and R&B driven music and ARMY sometimes now get frustrated that, because it got so big, it is often the first song new people react to and think that this defines BTS, when really if any genre can be said to be an identifier to their style overall it's hip hop.
In terms of their dance influences, they draw from many dance styles, but especially street and hip hop styles and contemporary. They also draw from many other styles such as jazz, swing, ballet, latin, classical, martial arts and traditional Korean styles, among others. Their dance fusion is really unique.

dynamite may not be the best bts song for me, but this will always have a special place in my heart because this song dropped when i was confined in a hospital with my mom during pandemic.

The 3 all english songs Dynamite, Butter and Permission to dance was made during pandemic just to cheer up Armys during lockdown, so it was upbeat songs whid easy dance. All 3 songs went in to nr 1 at Billboard but the have 3 moore nr 1 , and Jungkook and Jimin also got nr 1 at Billboard 100, the also have 6 nr 1 Albums at Billboard 200

If you’re looking for the MJ flavour, the performance of “Dynamite” that they did for the Melon Music Awards (MMA) in 2020 includes an incredible dance break! The only bummer about that performance is that SUGA is missing because he was recovering from a surgical procedure on a longterm injury at the time, so there are only six members present, but you can really see the King of Pop and funky influences in that performance. J-hope and Jimin really take their dance leadership seriously in that one!

No worries, it always takes time to know who is who. The only way I could do it is by their voice. It's difficult to do by looks because it changes with every video.

I love key changes in minor keys. They tend to be very heavy feeling though, and they suit really dramatic ballads. But done correctly it can really drive the emotion home.
BTS released Dynamite after we’ve already been living during the pandemic for awhile. They wanted a song that would lift people’s spirits.
