    If any of you are from my other videos because you sorted by oldest and are wondering why this video is dead compared to my other long-form videos, this video was made before the channel truly blew up from the Mojang videos, and, because people pump out 5-20 of these best server host list videos almost every day asking for people to buy a server off their affiliate link, we are literally competing against thousands of other videos rather than the usual couple of videos.
    I made this video because I was doing a lot of research and I made this video literally for myself for if I forget any of this knowledge.

      I have fixed up the thumbnail and if you look up "minecraft server hosting" we are competing with hundreds of these videos, we are competing against AI generated videos and people who get paid to pump these videos out for a living because they sneak an affiliate link in their description. I made this video knowing this wasn't going to get seen by a lot of people, because I wanted to watch this video myself in the future in case I need it.
      Sorry for not responding to you immediately, notifications are cluttered for obvious reasons. These videos will barely make me any money regardless but I made this video cause it was something I would have wanted to watch myself.

      dude true i spent like a day watching vps videos for hosting a mc server and also to do personal projects and all the videos i have found were like 1-3 years old and were sponsored. This is the only video I found that lists all vps gives their critical flaws that are not mentioned by others which u have to sign up and then realize how bad they are, and is rlly informative bro. If i had only found this video earlier i wouldnt have had to spend hours looking at other biased info that didnt make u learn anything rlly

      @@emmascripted4515 I might make an updated/more ADHD-friendly version however it probably still won't have a chance because we are literally competing with 1000s of other videos that are AI generated or template garbage.
      The other server provider I found after I made this video is Crunchbits and they charge $3/TB but are hosted in PA and WA and have $1.80/month servers, those guys are insane. I appreciate hearing this, but don't worry I have been rewarded quite well on this channel, sadly not for making this video however

    just putting my perspective on this:
    I use the free Minehut plan for my server as right now i just need practice using and making things with Skript, im in the process of making a Bedwars minigame with Skript and simply having random people as playtesters is a nice option, but having friends to test is alot better. I feel that once i finish my minigame after testing with friends, and fixing bugs, i could probably feel comfortable using up the rest of the 10 player slots with random players (/ad) for something like an event or something.
    (just my opinion on how i use one of the free programs as an up and coming Skript programmer)

      AdvinServers, Oracle, or the almighty king, HETZNER. People have trouble getting through the Hetzner bouncer, but if you are European, you shouldn't run into any issues. If you have a VAT exemption, you may however need to provide some other forms of ID as I've seen in some cases.

    Which would you specifically recommend for a pair of 30 something broke friends, one in Ireland and one in US(third probable in UK) with not a lot of tech knowledge when it comes to hosting(but a good bit of tech knowledge otherwise)? Probably not looking to run much in the way of mods.

    • @cubedimensions

      I don't know if oracle takes prepaid cards but if you can manage to get a prepaid card or are willing to watch closely your Oracle Cloud account, you have to bind a credit card on there if you want their free 24GB of RAM server, which is FREE. Lots of people have reported no issues despite them requiring a credit card but obviously just lock the account down and be careful so you don't go over the literal free 24GB of RAM.
      If you want to actually just outright buy a server that runs 24/7, one of the managed hosts I suggest could work, or Crunchbits or EthernetServers, where you can pay $12-$25 for a year of a server

    what hosting do you recommend for a server in the apac region and has around 25-30 players (just playing vanilla tho). I am ok with paying a little bit of money.

      AdvinServers and Oracle (maybe free?), the $1 hosting is for servers in the U.S. only, so your latency would be bad with some of these extremely cheap ones.

    Hey, I appreciate the information. I know a bit about computers but this stuff is beyond me. I want to host a server for like 10 people or so. I’m based in the US but one person that I want to play with is in South America. I’m good with paying a little bit of money, but I want a server that runs 24/7 and isn’t running on my computer. I have a good computer but I don’t want something accessing my network or using port forwarding or anything like that. Sorry for the info dump, but was wondering what suggestions you have. I would also like to be able to use some plugins/mods if I want to. Thank you!

    • @cubedimensions
      @cubedimensions  Месяц назад

      You'll need to buy a server located in a middle ground between where and your friends are, and where your South American friend is, but, in most cases Minecraft should be bearable and fine to play, perhaps choose Florida or Texas as a location for your server if you can as it would be somewhat closer to South America, however people have played across the seas in different continents on my server and play for hours and hours without having major issues, so I wouldn't worry about this.
      Sparked Host or PebbleHost, perhaps 2GB-3GB+ of RAM is what you'll want if you want to use the most recent versions.
      For do-it-yourself type servers, EthernetServers, Racknerd (they don't let you delete your data/account even if you are done renting), and CrunchBits offer some of the cheapest servers. Once you go beyond 10-20 players, that's when you'll need to start looking into premium/extreme tier and start going for dedicated servers.
      In most cases, you and your friends should be fine if you buy a budget tier from PebbleHost or SparkedHost, if you need WAY more players and plan on wanting to put in a ton of plugins, go with the extreme tiers with more RAM or it can be cheaper to go with one of the dedicated servers or unmanaged hosting on this list, perhaps pay attention to core speed as well.

      Thank you for the information! Most people that would be playing on it would be based in the US so that should be find. Following up with this, would it then just be better to go with realms or does that limit your ability to do plugins? Thanks

    • @cubedimensions
      @cubedimensions  Месяц назад

      @@Jalu_liveontwitch you cannot put bukkit plugins on realms, go with something on the list in this video, or ethernetservers or crunchbits. Minecraft Realms is marked up extremely, you get some benefits but nothing good enough compared to the custom content you get from plugins, you can also use geyser so your server is cross-compatible with bedrock and java.
      If you go to ethernetservers, go to unmanaged servers, and you can get to their other store page, there is a section with the words "Special Offers" and you can get a 1GB of RAM server for $15 for a year or $1.25 a month, or a 3GB of RAM server for $2.08 a month with 100gb of storage, or $25 for a year, and they come with a 60 day refund policy in case your server keeps crashing. I'd advise them over Racknerd as Racknerd doesn't allow for account deletion.
      If you plan on putting TONS of plugins you'll need to find plans beyond 3GB of RAM and I advise looking at CrunchBits (which goes out of stock frequently) or a dedicated server. I'd just go with the 3GB of RAM and see what happens, check the refund policies, and follow some tutorials and set the server up yourself in a linux machine!
      If not, just go with pebble or sparkedhost budget tier which can be the cheapest option.

      Will a spark host or pepple server run at all times so anyone can play without the host there? That’s my main worry. The only mods I would do are like setting a home for tp commands and graphics mods. Thanks!

    I want to do a small 10 player server and it'll be vanilla since we will run client side mods, and our own textures and shaders. What do you recommend? Cheaper is better and I am in Australia

    • @cubedimensions
      @cubedimensions  Месяц назад +1

      First of all I am shocked anyone is watching this video on my channel. If you're just doing a small server with clientside mods, not even plugins or barely a plugin or two, head to SparkedHost and go with them. I don't recall any unmanaged host on this list I made actually covers Australia other than Oracle. If you want something extremely cheap, try to check if you can go with Oracle and host below the free 24GB of RAM instance (they might not offer it in Australia), however, I would advise to be the most safe, head with SparkedHost.
      The 3gb-7gb of RAM server is what you can go with, if you are going to have at max 10 players on consistently. Take a look at between budget, enterprise, and extreme. They offer free trials too, so you can try out the budget 4GB of RAM instance.
      Hope this helps, and check out Server Hunter and filter by your country to see the best deals, filter by virtual private servers and then dedicated servers (which will be the most expensive) to get an idea.
