- There's lots of vids out there with people swirling their Ibanez and rock guitars.. So I thought I'd show the process of turning my Telecaster into a Reggaecaster. After this swirl, it is getting cleared and buffed to a shine and decked out with all black hardware. ONE LOVE!

Just beautiful! I'm wondering what state the finish is after the swirling, and if there I much sanding the paint job, and how the paint reacts to sanding. It looks fantastic, I just can't get my head around how to treat it after the paint.
No sanding after

I'm new to this.
So you're just pouring magic marble paint into a big tub of water and then swirling it around? After which you just swipe the paint away with newspaper and viola?!
Your guitar looks awesome!
It looked like barf pizza at first
What kind of paint do you use ?
you forgot black
Awesome! I am inspired! Thank you for posting this. :-)
It seems I've seen a hundred of these guitar swirling clips, and I have yet to see one where they included a picture of what the guitar looked like when it was reassembled.
im for 99% sure that is magic marble paint. (no borax need) for people who wanna so it themselfs
@spookybaba, thanks! The paint reacts just like any other paint job. It can be LIGHLY sanded. Be careful tho, it is a really thin coat. Finish it with a clear spray lacquer
Josh..did you add Borax to the water first? The paint shouldn't spread out and disperse as much as "pool" till you stir it after all the paint colors are added. If it disperses to much, then the paint is to thin. Always shake whatever oil based paint you use prior to pouring or it may clump if its older. And no...paint does not have an expiration date.
I wanna see the full finished product with hardware and all that. For some reason these videos never show that.
Oh, one more thing I forgot to ask.. What type of equipment (paints) brand did you use for the paints to swirl your guitar in. I'm looking to get this type of quality in my future swirled guitar and I would highly appreciate it if you could point that type of information in my direction.
Testors model paint is good.
Why doesn't your paint run like mine does? haha
that is badass. how many of these have you done?
Reminds me of the Integer camo on BO3
Falto el negro y queda perfecta
it looks like green pizza with pepperoni
Yep! It is magic marble paint.
I have a question. What degree did you set up the water to be? If that's not to much to ask for
75 degrees F.
When I try to do this my paint doesn't disperse, what should I do? This didn't happen the first time I did it.
Josh W Start with your darkest color first, I recommend using pipettes instead of dripping like he did here to get an even coat. There are some colors that don't spread well when placed on others, like white on orange, that you'll learn with trial and error. If that happens don't stress and add more paint to that area as you should still be able to get some desirable patterns if you move your swirl stick, something flat as opposed to round, through the center of the blob that didn't spread. Also keep your water between 74-78/79 degrees Fahrenheit and use enamel based paints and not oil based. Good luck!
What kind of paint are you using?
Awesome vid!
Testors model paint is good
Very cool man
Bad ass!
Saladcaster
Sickkkkkkkkkk !
@funnymandan666, the water was room temp.. About 70 degrees
i read it should be 60.. do you think the temp makes a difference?
Is it farenheid or celcius
That would be fahrenheit if it's room temperature at 70 degrees...room temperature in celsius is about 20 degrees
Rad
Jesus that song is terrible
