Horses still ride from above Murphy Ranch, and the three inclines are brutal but extremely rewarding! Watching the planes coming into L.A and the quietness is soooo peaceful!😊 Another awesome video on Whittier history!😊
I love Murphy Ranch Park and have been hiking it on and off since it was set aside as a wilderness park in the 70s and a lot of that area was still being developed. I hope it doesn't get over-exposed through social media and ruined, like what happened at Hellman Park, with the neighborhood having to go to permit parking only and the park hours having to be restricted to save the habitat. Enjoyed the video, but glad it hasn't been seen by thousands!
I go to sycamore canyon trail on workman mill rd. Next door to the Rosehills cemetery. Elevation gain is like 500 feet going up the switch back hill 😇😇😇
Could you tell me how get to the little white office? I’ve tried looking online but no luck. My Grandmother was born on the ranch I would like to show her this building, thank you.

Simon J Murphy was my great, great, great grandfather. My Grandmother was Elizabeth Murphy. Love seeing family History!
That's amazing!! Thank you for sharing!
I too am part of the Simon Murphy family… my Grandmother was Adelaide Murphy. Mike Campbell
Great trail. I love it when they bring the goats to eat the overgrown shrubs. Been in Whittier over 30 years. Kool video!
I didn't know they did that! If they have a schedule or something I'd love to see them!

Yes it's a great hidden gem! Thanks for watching! 🙂
Actually did Arroyo pescadero this past weekend with the fam, was debating this one. For sure on the list to try. Thanks for the video!
It's a great hike! If you ever see me on the trail be sure to say hi!
So much fun!
It was! Glad you’re my partner in crime for life 😘
The hike is a bit more challenging if you go up on the right just as the hike starts. It’s one of our favorite hikes and so close to home.
I can see how that would be more difficult, a steeper climb on the way up. We’ll have to try that way next time 👍
Wish I knew about this growing up in Whittier. I always considered Friendly Hills the rich people area you just drove by. lol,
It is kind of hidden!

I'll have to film a video on that one next!
That’s my Great Grandfather in this pics.

We will have to stop by next time. I love seeing the remote control trucks on the trails!
I was surprised that nobody said Turnbull Canyon. The entrance is in uptown Whittier.
Turnbull is nice too!
What type of wildlife you guys find?

Sorry just noticed you put the address in the description :)
No problem! Did you take your grandmother?
Where do you find all these old photos?! It’d be pretty interesting to see old Whittier, good video btw.
