Thanks for the video. The quad and Whitwood Mall were where my Mom took us to shop for clothes growing up. I remember the Whittier Narrows earthquake happened as my Dad drove me to school when I was a freshman in high school. As you showed that was what destroyed the old quad.
I was going to high school in Mission Hills at the time, and as I exited onto Rinaldi St at the stop light, I could feel my car shake. It wasn’t until I got to my high school when it was evident there was an earthquake. I remember the principal saying “in the words of the king ‘I’m all shook up’ “ 😂
I used to live in Whittier from 1997 to 2005 and use to go there back in the day
