Thanks! My first time growing basil and I wouldn’t have known to do that.
This is timely. I'd better go and pull out my old flowering basil. Hopefully, I'll get seeds from the flowers.
If you want to collect seed, leave the flowers until the seed sets....(often they don't set seeds) Must try to do a video on that one....
Thak you new at this😊
Thanks for watching, and good luck with you basil.
My basil plants always bolt too quickly. Thank you for these tips! I will apply them this season and see what happens. 😊
Thanks for watching. What is your climate zone, we may be able to be more specific.
Will it stay alive through winter? I’m in Perth and just bought one of those pots from Woolies which contain many cuttings so I planted them all up into pots a couple of weeks ago.
If the temperature stays above 8°C it MAY stay alive however it will be slow and eventually die. In Perth it best from spring to summer into early autumn. Give it a try and keep it in the warmest sunniest spot over winter.
@@johnnyAGardening Thank you. I’ll see how they go and will put some inside soon under grow lights for safekeeping. It’s been a really warm autumn here and we’re still having 28 degree days for the past couple of weeks.
