My question is when using APEX where is the database actually stored?
What if you want to use a local database with going to the cloud/internet?

Database is actually stored on the cloud.
Local database will need to be imported/exported

I am trying to create the drop down menu through "Select List" but all my items"are under "Column" rather than the "Items" tab. How can I fix this?

APEX 5 has gotten rid of the old APEX tabs concept and instead replaced it with the APEX Navigation Menu. This is a very positive change and, tied in with the new Universal Theme it, certainly makes life easier.
