the ending is about forcing to put this series to end with a disappointing clustered story and shorten hours of play compared to the first two. this game doesn't even feel like the end of a trilogy instead it feels like tomb raider 2.5. 😔

Is a knife and silver box that is actually from real mythology that hard to believe that you think this is going to happen? We actually don't know much from the Myan, Aztec, and Inca myths due to the Spanish conquistadors. So, I found this story to rather interesting and well thought out.

I finished it yesterday. And then went to complete a couple of tombs I missed. I love those tombs! I had heard about Lara Croft but never played. Got the game for a song and really enjoyed it...the stealth, the Indiana Jones vibe....awesome!

And on that note, Jennifer, if you ever have the opportunity to play all the other Tomb Raider games, jump on it! I've been playing this series since about 98, back on PS1 and have loved every adventure!

I "love" how, after millennia of clandestine operation, the entire command structure of Trinity was toppled in the span of half an hour.

Yeah they sequelbaited so hard with rise of the tomb raider and then just didn't explain anything about Trinity and then just had them blow up and that's the end of it. Pretty dissapointing tbh lol.
@@jamisongarrison1972 Yeah, most of the trilogy is pretty disappointing, to be honest. The gameplay, graphics, and attention to detail are good in all the games, but there's so much missed potential outside of those.
The first game is excellent. It revamps the old, campy adventure genre; it sets a likeable character in a beautiful and uniquely horrifying environment; it has great acting, group interactions, and character models; and it sets up great potential for sequels-imagine seeing this up-and-coming adventurer explore equally-intricate uncharted territories in the modern world, and imagine her doing that with the rest of the gang, Jonah being the strongman and voice of reason, Reyes being the technician and supporting combatant, and Sam being the public relations expert and co-historian. That would've been something unseen in video games, and it would've added an enduring vitality to the game, similar to virtually all the great, long-running television series.
But by the sequel, they cut out Sam, Lara's best friend, and Reyes, an interesting foil to the more levelheaded and naïve Lara, and left us with Jonah for some reason. And they changed Lara's and Jonah's faces, making them feel like strangers to us. And they watered down the horror, which was already done masterfully in the first game and was one of the most interesting aspects of the series-how often do we get high-quality horror in AAA video games? And they changed the composer, even though Jason Graves created one of the most distinctive and aesthetically-pleasing soundtracks for the original game, including both the music and the jingles. And Lara sounds out of breath all the time, for some reason.
There was no way that the Trinity arc could've been finished satisfyingly within two games. They had a good anthology series set up in the first game, but they wanted to add an overarching plot of some kind, and they ended up tripping over themselves in it. Not only that, but they centered basically all the lore in this timeline around Trinity and their pursuits of world domination when it feels so unearned and shallow. People keep talking about sequels, but the creators pretty much eliminated all prospects. Lara is retired as a tomb raider by the end of this game; Jonah, one of the only other interesting characters in the series, has left her; Sam, the other interest character, is still undergoing psychiatric treatment; and no other artifact can beat the one that allows for eternal life, or the one that causes the apocalypse. At least the first game was more conservative on the scale of paranormality that it tackled.
By the way, it's weird that this militant Christian organization is run by some Peruvian heathen who came out of nowhere. One would think that they'd be a little more particular about their leaders.
Also, the third game never shows us what was happening in the rest of the world-for some reason. Was the Mayan apocalypse affecting England? New York? China? Africa? Wouldn't that have an immense effect on society and humanity's conception of the supernatural? How many people ended up dying? This is all no-brainer stuff to cover in an apocalyptic story, but the game seems to want to forget about it.
This trilogy, which didn't even have to be just a trilogy, could've been great, and all this lost potential makes me very disappointed.
I mean, Lara alone already murdered hundreds (if not thousands) of Trinity soldiers by this point how many mercs can you keep hiring before they realize that others never return from previous missions? 😂😂😂
This game is an underappreciated masterpiece.
If you are wondering Tomb Raider protagonist Lara has less actions and stuff is because she is a tomb raider . A person who raids tomb and finds history where nobody believes . Its not all about action and she didn’t feel scared about climbing debris and stuff is because she has been doing it since she was young . The game stated everything and she is a wild brave child .

Kevin Vu this is talking about the new tomb raider. The old version was a lot different and is not their goal with these new games. Lara isAlmost a new character in these new games , but with a recognizable name so people can get into the new games
@@pootytangpooty1 Nah. Dude I've played this series since 98, that's the ps1 games all the ps4 games. That's Tomb Raider 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Angel of Darkness, Anniversary, Legend, Underworld, and all 3 of the new games. Lara is essentially the same character throughout all except with altered history about how she got into Tomb Raiding. There's hardly anything about the new Lara that's different from the old. I don't know how any of the original games you've ever played but al these new 3 did was get rid of Warner, who was her mentor in 4, 5 and Angel of Darkness(6) as the explanation to how she got started. They go rid of him for Legend and Underworld, changing her backstory only slightly there. I van break down the entire series for you, history wise of Lara if you'd like.
I’ve played this game over 5 times, and i just noticed that at the scene after the credits you get to see that Lara kept the box . The Crimson Fire trusted her, as she truly earned

This is the final installment of her ORIGIN story. There will be future series, an open world tomb raider game will awesome.

Closing message after credits (long fucking credits, no wonder the plot was a pile of committee compilation trash and cost $100mil) said that this is the LAST TOMB RAIDER GAME. But honestly, they already went 'game too far.' More than they could handle.

This game evolved to be a lot more emotionally complex, i love this direction, i love this ending, but i do miss the flashy mechanisms, intricate rituals and ancient artifact weapons you had in previous games.

If we really sorted all of lara's adventures out. I like to think all the games connect to each other even going back to the original ones from 1993. You have these latest games from 2012 onwards being laras prologue. Then you would have Anniversary (remake of tomb raider 1). Legend and Underworld where she searches for her mother. Then maybe you would have TR2 dagger of Xian and then TR3 with the Meteorite artefacts. And so on. Then TR4 in Egypt. I imagine thats her timeline and then I think the angel of darkness always feels like laras last real adventure. Remember how dark the storyline was in that game. Where she really just disappears after the events of the game. And finds a new life somewhere..

Does anybody know if there will be a next Tomb Raider game? It would be very nice to have a remake of the old ones or a new trilogy about an older Lara Croft or his Parent, how they met and how Dominguez killed the father of Lara Croft.
I think it will take time, crystal dynamics is working on another project (marvel game) and I'm sure Eidos will not work on a new tomb raider so fast :) it will take time for a new tomb raider and I think the Trinity story is closed, so maybe we see a remake of tomb raider 1 or like you said a game about an older lara croft

This is a bit old, but for new readers, they plan on unifying this trilogy with the older games, but with that development will take longer and it's likely we will still have to wait at least a year for the next one. There is going to be a netflix animated series that is set after this game though, interestingly.

You read it wrong. Camilla said it would be interesting if, in the next TR games, Lara would have a daughter mixed in the story. But Camilla admittedly said she doesn't know what would be next for Lara.

How come Lara never sounds scared? At some points she’s being thrown to the ground, whipped around on rocks and debris, I rarely here her scream or shout.

I really hope that this isn't the final chapter in this reboot series. The game itself is okay and fine as a simple installment but if this was meant to be the concluding chapter then it is disappointing. I really want to see them continue with this Laura and explore her more experienced years.
There will be an anime that focuses on post-Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

The story felt really small compared to 2013 TR. I thought I was only half way in when this mission started.
There is no doubt about it, S.O.T.T.R. is a great game. I am lucky enough to own a high end gaming PC and playing the game in 4K with everything turned to maximum is just awesome. First time i played the game took me 52 hours to complete. Now i am going though the game to find everything and take my time this time around.
Oh yeah Lara is hot too. What is she? About 23 years old. Oh to be 23 again....
Lara is about 24-25 in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. 23 is Rise of the Tomb Raider. The early games however, I'm talking the ps1 and ps2 games, sh was in her 30s. Like 32 when Angel of Darkness is set.
My favorite tomb raider game got all 99 achievements on this game.

I’d take a remaster of the trilogy of Anniversary, Legend and Underworld in this graphic/art style and some updates tombs. Throw in some elements from her origin story so they flow nicely.
