THIS is the real Rocky I. Always liked Richard Conte, he looks the parts he plays.
Worth watching (listening) for the exquisite playing of the guitar and the beuatiful sound it has.

Vanessa Brown is someone I hadn't noted too much before hearing some of her radio work today, and she's very good here, too...
I'll admit, not exactly Academy Award level, but the build up to the fight at the end, as well as the brilliant photography of the ring action, is extremely well done. Conte and the other fighter do an excellent job, very "Rocky'esque!"
May I venture to suggest that this film concerns a bit more than avenging a family murder? The message outweighs the medium; it's about individual sacrifice in the face of oppression. These old movies have depth. Keep up the good work, PizzaFlix!

This is a terrific movie, def worth a watch.
I like the way the story is told from the start of the film we dont yet know Conte,s character,s reasons for helping the Mexican political newspaper,s editor until Lee J. Cobb appears.It,s almost an early Pulp fiction.

The two broads who Conte’s opponent “trained on” lost a good portion of the $5000. purse too. No three way back at the hotel that night. The fight scene rivaled those of the “Rocky” franchise.

Of all Conte Films this is clearly the odd one out! Story, direction, even acting, all weak. Must be a behind the scenes reason why Conte and Cobb agreed to do this strange movie - especially when they were both at the peak of their careers....
