Thank you for the reminder. Yes I have heard Mr. Price's SAINT and it is marvelous too. I should perhaps qualify my post to say that Roger Moore is my favorite actor to play THE SAINT on the telly as the Brits say.
I loved this series as a little girl, on black & white TV p, in the ‘60s. Thank you for uploading this full episode! Great plot. Series and films in the ‘60s had actual plots. And the British have always had inventive plots rather than rehashing the most successful plot-lines, as Hollywood does.
It's odd that you did not order a lifesized blow-up doll. From the preponderance of comments, makers would have become the Bezos of their time. Yet, the Original Super Mario was not, apparently, so arousing to the half-witless commenters, who plague the movie comment columns with their online pubescent ravings.
I think what made these tv show so amazing back in the days is the cast : Roger Moore , Diana Rig , Patrick Mcnee and many more .. they were perfect in their role , as if they were naturally born to portray their respective characters , but above all , they had charisma , and this is what missing from some actors nowadays

Thank you so much for airing this classic of British TV ITC production. "The Saint" was famous in England as well as in Canada before it seduced the American TV households as American networks were protectionist of shows produced ("Made") in USA only. Northern States could watch the early episodes from their neighboring Canadian TV-broadcast stations. Something similar was happening in the South/Western States who could listen to early Rock n' Roll by listening to American disc jockeys transmitting from south of the border Mexican radio stations. Thank you for the memories of a time of freedom and innocence, Ciao, L (Maine, USA)
The Saint, Secret Agent Man (called Danger Man in Britain), and The Avengers were on PBS first in the US in the late 1960's and into the 1970's! Those were leaps and bounds BETTER than anything Hollywood could produce at the time! And later came Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Mr Bean and Spitting Images -- all classics now! I sneaked and watched these after "lights out" at 10 pm on my 13" black & white TV back then! Thanks for posting these gems!
Wrong. Try Google and see how wrong you are. And my point was THESE WERE BETTER BRITISH shows and not from Hollywood. In the 1990's Hollywood did try to copy TV shows from Britain-- (Three's Company was a rip-off of "Man About the House!") And The Man from Uncle was another attempt to copy Danger Man (Title was changed for American audiences) & Get Smart was poor copy of The Saint.
@@andreb.thomas5926 Yeah, I don't think Moore was the best fit for Bond. Not ruthless enough. Stanley Baker, Oliver Reed, or Patrick McGoohan would have made better Bonds (interestingly, Baker, McGoohan, and Sean Connery all appeared together in a little known 1957 movie called The Helldrivers, along with Herbert Lom, David McCallum, and William Hartnell...the first Doctor!). Moore did make a perfect Saint, though.
Yes, I was almost always staying up late to see The Saint on CKLW-Windsor 9 back in Detroit, MI!! As well, as Danger Man . This is a throwback indeed to the mid-early sixties back home.
Grew up on The Saint and the rest of Roger's characters. ( laugh out loud at the Brando impression ). I think his auto biography was one of the best I have read. Would have loved to have met him, a true gentleman. Thanks for posting this.
Roger Moore was often derided as a lightweight, but if you watch him closely, he was a surprisingly good actor. Talking directly to the camera is actually one of the most difficult things for an actor. He made it look effortless.
He was not a great actor, but pretty decent. What made him exceptional is that he always took his job very seriously and worked very hard to give the best he had. And even though he often played characters with a big ego, he didn't have one.
At one time, this TV show held the record for the most international sales: there were few countries in the world where it wasn't shown, making Moore (who owned a third of the rights to the books and the show as producer) one of the earliest British TV Actor millionaires, long before he became Bond. He joked (accurately) that he took a pay-cut to play Bond! Remember, in the mid-60s, a million pounds was worth a hell of a lot more than it is today! A new Boeing 707 for example, would cost you $3 Million. Moore could have bought several, just from his royalties...!

Of course they don't make them like this anymore - it's rubbish, slow and boring!
There was plenty of shooting, fistfights and car chases in this great tv show!
Along with my brothers, I grew up in Cookham so this is a real nostalgic blast from the past, especially Jack Smith's the butchers where I worked as a Saturday boy for a number of years. The station is a memory too as I used it to get to school in Maidenhead from 1966-72. Memories!
Hi....I lived at Winter Hill then ...and Roger Moore stayed at his friend Robert Brown’s house in Cookham Dean while filming this Saint and as a 23 year old I met him at the Chequers pub with Bob and my late Dad.......what a genuine charmer RM was.....happy memories!!
Great. Thanks for posting this. I look forward to watching the rest. This was one of my favourite series growing up. I always loved Roger Moore.
Ah, the Saturday/Sunday afternoon re-runs of the late 60's! The Saint, The Avengers, The Prisoner, The Sons of Hercules; such lovely memories! Thanks for posting this!
Thanks for posting this. The Saint was a favourite of mine back in the 1960's. Look forward to you posting more of these classics.
Sir Roger Moore will always be my favorite SAINT; with all due respect to the exceptional George Sanders.
Shout! Factory Thank You for posting this episode of this brilliant series.
Mustafa Jackson you forget the US radio version, with Vincent Price as The Saint.
Thank you for the reminder. Yes I have heard Mr. Price's SAINT and it is marvelous too. I should perhaps qualify my post to say that Roger Moore is my favorite actor to play THE SAINT on the telly as the Brits say.
Mustafa Jackson p
Mustafa Jackson 💖
The Tusk Force... Nothing !... I love Ian Ogilvy... But... Roger Moore is more... He is more ... a little more in everything !
I loved this series as a little girl, on black & white TV p, in the ‘60s. Thank you for uploading this full episode! Great plot. Series and films in the ‘60s had actual plots. And the British have always had inventive plots rather than rehashing the most successful plot-lines, as Hollywood does.
Didn’t realised that, Roger Moore was so handsome!
He is some kind of charisma.
Maybe get new glasses.....
SPLENDID MR, MOORE
I watched this story may be in 1968 in the Malaysia tv.I was 10 years old at that time.Sir Roger Moore,a very handsome men in this world.
One of my favorites with British Tele!! The other being The Avengers! Those were THE days♦
Diana Rig was hot!
I think what made these tv show so amazing back in the days is the cast : Roger Moore , Diana Rig , Patrick Mcnee and many more .. they were perfect in their role , as if they were naturally born to portray their respective characters , but above all , they had charisma , and this is what missing from some actors nowadays
Simon Templar voelde mijn kindertijd.
Ik herinner me nog steeds mijn vader en moeder waren geduldig wachten op deze film Infront zwart wit TV-scherm.
Het was lange tijd geleden.
Tijd die tot nu toe net als een vlees passeert. De wereld veranderen.
The Avengers was the most fun
@@tunkunrunk charisma. They all seemed perfectly healthy to me
LOL Its so hilarious when he takes off his wig whilst looking in the mirror, and the music suddenly gets really loud, like we didn't know it was him. LOL
RM at his best. Many thanks for posting this gem and hope to see more episodes.
You can watch all episodes of The Saint on Shout! Factory at www.shoutfactorytv.com/series/the-saint - Thanks!
@@ShoutStudios Unfortunately the hearing impaired are screwed yet again and unable to on that site. Bigotry be everywhere, smh.
@@zyral.f.6938 If you see this comment, I saw The Saint over at popcorn flix. There are subtitles you can access on the episode, but they're a little ahead of the actual video. Might help a little I hope.
Oh Yes - Ms. Shirley Eaton ⭐🌹😍❤️☺️She got painted gold in the 007 James Bond film 'Goldfinger' ... A Gorgeous Lady.👸🌹.. Became Mrs. Sean Connery ❤️🤴👑⭐🏆🕴️🕶️🌩️💪 for some years. . 🙂😃😌👍👍🙏🤞🖖✌️💪🤗
I really enjoyed that, thanks for sharing. Loved Roger Moore in everything he did. He was brilliant.
tomdid1 JUST A LIGHTWEIGHT ACTOR.
@@jacksugden8190 and you are the heavy one nothing can beat roger Moore as a spy and as charming English man as him
The opening, talking directly to the viewers, shattering the fourth wall!
Rest in peace Roger. you'll always be the best Simon Templar & James Bond. 1927 - 2017
It's weird because chartris wrote the first book in 1928 lol. The saint meets the tiger, is a great book.
Vincent price was nothing to sneeze at
@@danathanaurelius4685 I am referring to film and tv productions of the saint. Vincent Price’s voice in a radio drama... Sadly doesn't count.
Currently, local channel telecasts this superb, depth of character, noire series. This is my FIRST viewing of Series 1: Episode 01. What a treat❕ Roger Moore [R🙏P]~wore this role like a Savile Row suit🙌 Grateful that you're curating these gems.
I watched every episode with my Grandparents on a Sunday afternoon. Loved it!!
He was adorable!! Loved this man.
i never miss an episode in the 60's of this series.ill try to watch.all episodes again.thanks for sharing.
I believe the The Saint and the Avengers aired on ABC. Secret Agent Man aired on CBS back in the 60's
Them a 55yo american who loved to watch British Tv Spy Tv series back in the early 70's
Its my childhood memories .Today after almost 40/50 years ago i watched here again & went back to that era my golden days .. Beautiful episode ...
My favourite TV show when I was a kid 😁
I grew up with Roger Moore as James Bond and just heard about this show. I will have to watch some Moore.
Wow, so honored to watch the 1st season of the 1st episode. Absolutely a hoot! Roger for ever best saint and best 007!
A hoot? Really?
@@pravinasings8098
...best Saint, yes.
...best Bond, no.
Connery.
Wow, grew up watching The Saint. So many great memories.
WOW! I never cease to be amazed by the stroke I had and the way it completely wiped my brain! I have no recollection of watching this episode!
This was a great episode. Madge was bless John did not kill her.
Thanks for posting this.
truly a class act, he was
I love this show...I remember watching it as a kid...love Roger Moor, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for this amazing Movie 🙏.
Let's not forget Patrick Mcgoohan in the Prisoner. He was pretty cool as well. Those Brits. Suave, sophisticated and always so well mannered.
Loved this series as a teenager in the 60s
Moore was brilliant. Just a great actor.
Sir Roger: Master of the fourth wall break.
As was Bob Hope.
thank you- enjoyed it again after many yrs- as they say "old is gold"
Thank you so much for uploading and sharing this wonderful series.
Loved 'The Saint' when I was a kid back in the 70's. 😇
Lol! I had nearly forgotten this series that we watched on black&whithe TV back in the "Good old days"! Fun to be down "memory lane" for a moment...
I was under the impression that Actors ' always ' talked to the camera!
Why would it be hard to talk to a camera????
OrangeTabbyCat Because there's nothing coming back at you. You've nothing to react to or peg your performance to.
Utter rot breaking the fourth wall is a piece of pi~ss for actors
Love this show. Especially the quality black and white. Rest in peace Mr. Moore. 8-2020.
Add gray color too.
I never used to miss the T.V.series of Sir Roger Moore in my school going days,in fact I used to love ❤️ him and now I’m 70+but still the Saint couldn’t be turned out from my heart,A real talented actor with special accent, decent acting, most talented actor and of course a very handsome personality “, May Allah bless him and his family
I met with him 10 years before in los Angeles. He was such a wounderful guy.
