Thank goodness for the folks preserving such gems and those who are still appreciating the true art here in 2024. The 40s-50s-60s was the golden era of film making. What a serene world it was back then!

You state it perfectly, we did have serene world then. It’s disgusting to see what those grandchildren did to destroy our peace and continue to do so today. Their day of regret will come! Till then they have carved out a world of hell for themselves! They will never know peace and tranquility!

Wow what a great movie!!! I didn't miss a second of it, and whatever became of that beautiful and smart Sally Gray? I almost forgot that she was an English or British Actress, and not an American Actress. She used what I call, alot of "Good Old Fashioned Common Sense" in her job. I Loved this Movie, just Loved it, and Thanks For Presenting It For Us! ❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊❤❤❤

She married an Anglo Irish peer and stayed the rest of her life with him. First in Ireland and then in London. She died aged 91. This film was released in Britain as Escape Route and was her last picture.

George Raft was an under rated actor. His films fir Paramount in the 30s were quite good. He started out as a hoofer so if you get a chance, watch Bolero. He shows off his dancing skills. By the 50she acted for the money but he still had skill in delivering dialogue. One of my favorite movies of his that he starred in was Mr Ace. He had “it” when it came to sex appeal. Most of his earlier films are on RUclips.

Entertaining movie. A nice relief from modern entertainment where every character is self-absorbed, isn’t confused about his or her identity, doesn’t snobbishly scold everyone because they don’t use correct pronouns, doesn’t delve into their psycho drama, isn’t suffering from PTSD, full of anxiety and isn’t preaching the progressive “message.” Trying to make everyone feel guilty about battles long past fought. All of the bitching, hate filled ,self righteousness whining and moaning has all become so boring!
Simply telling a story and everyone acting their role. It’s not a grade A movie but its goal was to entertain and it does that well enough.

A petty and silly thing for which to complain. The very tiny part of the story is the love interest. He is in his 50’s and she is in her 30’s and probably no real attraction anyway. She does a good job in her role and he is convincing enough in his. The story holds the viewers interest and overall it’s a well done movie.
It wouldn’t win any academy awards but it’s good entertainment and the it’s time well spent watching. Relax and enjoy good, old fashioned storytelling and movie making.👍
