Yeah they're one of those bands that were just quietly there the whole time. Nice stuff though. (Guess it makes sense I'd remember them now. Been rewatching jyu oh sei a bit. I watched it alone in a dark room, quietly , with headphones of course, (iirc) in my single room at the beginning of my freshman year in college. Looking back, I can't really blame myself for not being more outgoing, trying to meet more people. Well actually I did try, but maybe you get what I mean. This song has that timeless kind of feel to it. I remember listening to this years ago. It still sounds just as good as it did the first time I heard it.
No way, I finally found the song thats been stuck in my head forever. My younger brother loves NHL games, and this song was in the soundtrack. He always sells the previous copy for the new one, and neither of us could remember the artist or song. I'm so f****** happy right now.

I am so very sorry. My sister died almost 8 years ago. I miss her every day. I've lost track of how many times I've wished that I could simply talk to her, because she understood me far better than anyone else ever has. There are quite a few songs that remind me of her. We have to take comfort where we can❤
Me too, mate, miss them everyday! That’s some screaming at the sky-type of music, my favorite band of all time and always great for surviving some love in decline! Stay Strong, brother!
I've been listening to this song for over a decade. It was always just a 'hypothetical' song for me. I would get really sad listening to it even though I had never been through anything quite like it. Then at 33 years old, I did. The worst breakup of my life. Told I was unloved and unwanted over 1,000 miles away from home on a vacation that I was really looking forward to so we could spend some quality time together. I'll never forget her saying, 'see you on the flipside' as she drove away. A year later and I am still very much healing and making great progress, but this one still hurts. It's time I let somebody else lay at her feet, where I used to be.
THIS SONG NEEDS TO BE REINTRODUCED TO THE WORLD!!!! THE LYRICS, THE MUSIC, THE PASSION!!! This is song always reminds me of being back in my hometown with all my family and friends and kids that I work with in after school programs. Nothing compares to being home and thank you Gaslight Anthem for making such an amazing song!
Waiting 3 & a half hours on line in a light drizzle on a cool May evening in the early Summer of 2012 is how this night started for me... it ended with me being second row for this absolutely incredible show. Out of the dozens of concerts & performances I’ve been to in my life, this one will always hold a damn special place in my heart. Thank you Gaslight Anthem, thank you!
Same! Second row right in front of Alex Rosamillia. Such an amazing experience. Well worth the 3.5 hour drive from central PA to be there and then back.
10 years later an this song still speaks to my soul. Sends chills down my spine an has helped me cope with many negative emotions. That’s what music is all about. Mental revival and healing.
Takes me back to sitting in the living room with my Dad, Brother, and Cousin, playing NHL tournaments on PS4. The town in the video looks like my hometown which is just outside of St.Louis. Grey skies, blue collar, cold in the fall/winter. But not too cold to head over to what was the Scottrade Center at the time and catch a Blues game when we could score tickets. As time went on we moved out of that house, family all went their separate ways and I moved to Texas to be closer to the woman I love. You don't truly appreciate a moment until it becomes a memory. I'll forever be grateful for Gaslight Anthem and this song.
My ex-boyfriend from high school used to play his NHL game all the time and that's how I first discovered this song, and I've been in love with it ever since. During this period I was just stumbling into the beginning of my 9 year long journey of heroin addiction. Here I am sober today, and I still love this song. And I hope my ex boyfriend is happy and healthy somewhere.

Im in loved with this band since I heard their music video of "The '59 Sound" played in TV. After that , I growed up to their albums every year and in loved with them all. Since, the last Get Hurt Album, I kinda missed these guys. I know Brian started good with his solo albums now, but come on guys. You guys need to make more beautifull songs again. Your songs inspired every aspect in my life and help me through the good and bad days. I missed you guys.

Literally feels like my mind blows starting there and increases towards 2:16… Insane really. Feels like all my energy unleashes there. Again and again and again. Rosamilia is my hero!
Listened to this for the first time in Pandora back in the day (2013) while laying on my moms couch after a long day of work. I was dealing with deep depression and used to listen to music so I could ease my mind. This song definitely helped by coming out a random day on an online radio.
I saw them play and hungout with them a bit in 2007 in a small venue behind a skateshop in my hometown. I didn't even know they were still around until I saw them on the shakey knees poster just now.
Such simplicity yet the beautiful double meaning of the song consistently rings true every time I want to hear Gaslight, or every time I end up messing up another relationship. I have to let someone else lay at her feet.
I remember when I first got out of the Army and tried to see if my on-again-off-again girlfriend wanted to try again and she said she'd found someone else (100% my fault. Thought I could do better, then realized too late what a fucking mistake that was). Just realizing that it was real this time and there was no more us after we'd been through so much and had so many amazing times. With all the other craziness going on in my life trying to adjust to life after the army and not having her there after she always was for so much, this song just came out and the station I listened to played it a lot and it helped me get through that time.
Heard this song a decade ago when I was trying to get over someone. Now I'm hearing it for the first time since I've been widowed. And it brings back a lot of the same emotions of trying to move forward in life albeit with a lot more conflicting feelings. Great song.

That's great news! Hopefully you guys have been able to see them on tour the past few years. I've seen them 10 times the last couple of years. It's a surreal experience every goddam time 😂😅
The filming of this video was so much fun. I was about to graduate from college, had just finished my finals and decided to drive to Asbury Park for this filming instead of partying with my classmates. I remember waiting in line in the rain, they played this song 6 times throughout a full set, but on the first run through when the chorus hit and we all screamed "HEYYY! TURN THE RECORD OVER!" Brian had the biggest smile on his face. I don't think he was expecting people to take to the song as quickly as they did.
I'v listened to many breakup songs in search of one that would help me feel a little better. This is the only song that has been able to make me feel just a little better about it all Thanks Gaslight Anthem! :)

This is such a great song. Brian Fallon is great. I love what he does with his voice on this album.
I still love this song so much after several years, but I cant quite figure out why. its one of those songs that really grabs my heart but I dont know how lol
I agree, every time I hear it. It makes me remember 😕
Joel Mcintosh it's a song that always given me an engize for a song.
Rachel Walker same holy shit it always makes me emotional but I never know why
For me it gives me hope, hope that things will get better amd hope that the good keeps being the best it can be "turn the record over and ill catch you on the flipside"
Its a classic, thats why. The whole album is classic.
A friend of mine introduced me to these guys yesterday. Thanks Chad!
This song was played right before my first home run, loved it ever since.
Undeniably one of my favourite songs can't see how someone can say this is anything other than amazing!
they opened up for a rise against concert i went to once along with hot water music..first time i had heard of them and hearing this song live..well shit ive been obsesed with them since 😀
Randy Crump I saw that tour too! I saw them in Milwaukee and that show opened me up to these guys and HWM. Since then Chuck Ragan and Brian Fallon's solo stuff has also been some of my favorite music.
Alan Chairez right?! Ive loved hwm and gaslight anthem along with chuck and Brian's solo stuff ever since along with other similar bands I wouldn't have gotten into otherwise.. Probably best thing to happen to me musically haha
I heard of them from the rise against cover of ghost of tom joad
I went to see Chamberlain , who were opening for THEM in Boston.
Ever since, Love !
The opener and middle band where better then the headliners😊😄
Thank you Guitar Hero Live!
+ShadowHunter31 my favorite one to play
I love to play this song on Advanced.

Now that my daughter is 10, this song relates so much more now, sometimes life will give you what you need not what you want

Now you can!
"And I dance with your ghost,
Oh, but that ain't the way...
I can't move on and I can't stay the same."
Love this song's lyrics. Great band.
The Gaslight Anthem are fantastic I first discovered them when they supported Bruce Springsteen in 2009 at Hyde Park and I fell in love with them
I remember this song from the radio back when it was released. Great song 🤘
Saw these guys LIVE a few times... they're not a disappointment AT ALL. It was a lot of fun and worth every penny.
Gaslight Anthem at the Stone Pony! Those were great days.
This song is absolute perfection.
Just started listening to these guys, surprised I never came across them before. I really like what I hear. I hope they'll continue to create this great music
You'll be in for ahead surprise.... they broke up a couple of years ago...
Your in for a treat they have so many good songs check out their early stuff so good
@@michaelwolf6597 they're back together now!
Have you seen my hands
Just look at 'em shake
And the song just keeps on repeating
Drop the needle again
And I dance with your ghost
Oh, but that ain't the way
I can't move on and I can't stay the same
And all my friends say
Hey hey, turn the record over
Hey hey, and I'll see you on the flip side
There you go, turn the key and engine over
Let 'er go, let somebody else lay at her feet
But have you seen my heart
Have you seen how it bleeds
And the nights are so long, baby
Out here in the deep
The tick, ticking of hours, lonely
I hear the alarm
I used to hear when she would sleep in my arms
But better sense says
Hey hey, turn the record over
Hey hey, and I'll see you on the flip side
There you go, turn the key and engine over
Let 'er go, let somebody else lay at her feet
And all my friends say
Hey hey, turn the record over
Hey hey, and I'll see you on the flip side
There you go, turn the key and engine over
Let 'er go, let somebody else lay at her feet
Where you used to be
Where you used to be
Where you used to be here with me
Rockfest 2014. Montebello, QC. First band as I walked into the grounds. What a wild fuckin weekend I’ll never forget that one.
Come to Cape town I bet you have never done an Africa concert. Not many bands have?
Every time i get depressed i listen to this song and idk why it just makes me feel a lot better
the lyrics are powerful
It's my wake-up juice. Better than caffeine.
I second this motion 👍
I hope you are doing okay these days.
Definitely helps
I don't think it's gaslight's intention
But they make alot of bands look like amatuers...
Incredible
Indeed
fartinazoodle helps to have a producer
So true
fartinazoodle
Producers do help Paul!I would sound alot better with a good mix and master lol. But, I think alot of music has lost edge.People argue it's pop. But I love TGA.Actually writing songs..Instruments. Compared to Katy Perry, Bieber and countless others, it's refreshing to hear music from someone who uses their art, and has something to say.
fartinazoodle well sure if you only look at the top 20 singles. Lots of people trying to push boundaries or make a statement but no-one cares, they want a casual listen
Came across this song a few years back on nhl 12 or 13. Been a fan since!
R.I.P to a good friend I lost today..you will never be forgotten bro...I still can't believe it... bumping Gaslight Anthem in your memory..🎵🎶😢😢
Just found a concert t shirt i had got from a show in grand rapids. Great to hear again!
For years, this song has remained one of those descriptions of perfect better suited for the word than the dictionary definition.
love these guys! saw them live..high energy show..
These Fukkers just SCREAM Jersey Attutude!
These guys are super under rated
this is definitely one of the best and greatest songs ever made and created of all time
Going to see them live tomorrow for the first time as they have come off hiatus, cannot wait.
