This is so interesting to learn. I have a spinal cord injury from C4-T5 caused by Transverse Myelitis and have a combination of all of the symptoms. My lesion is not clear cut throughout my cord but in blotchy areas and largely affecting my right side. I became paralyzed in my hands and then right leg in an hour's time. I have since gained much function back after 2 years but still lack fine motor control in my right hand and have various paresthesia in all of my limbs. Despite having to relearn how to walk and use my hands, I will be graduating in a few months with a degree in medical laboratory sciences. I hope some day we can cure and fully treat spinal cord injuries!

Taught this better than my med school professor who specializes in traumatic spinal cord injury and who herself has one. You just caught a subscriber and my future step1 score thanks you. Your patients will be very lucky to have you. Consider going in to teaching later in your career as any highly ranked program would be lucky to have you in its curriculum.
My mother is having some neuro problems im driving her 3hrs 1 way to a hospital at least once a month while watching her mobility and stability decrease. She has t11 lesions along with some high levels on spep and matching o. Bands ....im learning a great deal and have been able to understand conversations with neurologist thanks to you. Just wanted to say thanks.

naaaahhhh people do not understand this , this topic of spinal cord lesions is considered one of the most difficult part of neuroanatomy say most difficult part of basic sciences . Students who are preparing for usmle part 1 or FCPS part one exam knows exactly how difficult BCQs/ MCqs are from this topic alone !
however this dude has made this topic study so fun to watch and listen and i can bet millions rupees who ever is having a problem in understanding through books can definitely definitely get benefit from this lecture !

please check this out! I was in a accident, my spinal sac was ripped open, my back was broke in 3 places, I have bulging discs in my neck. After 20 years of being told the leg acheing pain I go through is because of the fore mentioned. I extended my lower jaw one day and warm relief went into my legs, and I also found out when I extend my lower jaw my headaches are relieved. My sinus fluid flows down the back of my throat, pressure on my gums relieved. And I can go #1 and #2 without forcing. Ect... What happens when I don't extend my lower jaw first I feel a cold sensation in my right ear. And then a hot sensation down my neck, then all the tingling starts in my legs stomach, rear end. Sinus on one side of my nose plugs up and a little on the left nostril, head pressure, about 20 to 30 min later not extending my lower jaw my legs are affected and I have told my doctor. If you cut my legs off I would be happy, but not really. This evidence has taking me into a 13 year search with not much info of why. My idea is I'm pinching a artery which causes blood to back up into my head and there's the right nostril thats plugged and who knows what else is getting plugged, I also found out I have celiac disease and imflamation from gluten and just doing stuff. Take methadone 1/4 of a pill every 6 to 8 hours also effector 1 a day. Please help you seem to be the most knowledgeable person I have seen. When my eyes are closed I see fluid flow over my eyes like pouring paint over a ball over and over again. Until I extend my lower jaw it keeps going. And a relief of pressure feeling in the middle upper chest area, every so often. This really bothers me. I was thrown from a truck on the highway in 1994. Plus a lot of other trauma before the accident.
