You’ll have to go to a place where the vehicles are side by side. It’s a night and day difference. The Maybach feels like cheap junk compared to basic Chinese cars. I went in the minivan which was selling for just under 500k RMB with my friends and were were shocked at how opening a door sounded like an explosion. The s450 door handles were also a joke. Everyone had trouble just opening the door and we were greeted with lights that looked exactly like the same ones we had from our Mercedes in the 90s. If you don’t have Chinese cars in your country to compare, you probably don’t know what luxury is in 2024. One other point, the model X we drive was already way better than the Maybach in so many ways. Just really poor design. Tesla isn’t great in China but it’s ok. German cars are actually just junk unless you think this is the year 2005

After stepping into a Li Auto Mega today and then driving back in the model X, you really feel like the car is just super boring in comparison and not on the same level of luxury and detail. I was very surprised by the Li Auto L9 and Mega both being able to turn their car into a massive and pretty comfy bed. On top of that, the third row of the Meta was way more comfortable than the second row of our Model X… it was a magical third row experience.

Most of the Designers for these Chinese Cars came from Germany Well known Brands . Ex Employees from Brands Like Porshe , Audi ,Bmw ...etc China has Money to Buy these Designers so they can Work for Chinese Brands. Money Talks
And China employs designers from Europe because its main export destination is Europe. It would not be suitable to use designers from China, Korea or Japan, for example 😂

I think these Chinese cars are style over substance lets see what they look like in 5 years of use, I can see a lot of these having reliability problems and a short life. Good luck getting one Insured, serviced or repaired.
NIO are wasting resources NO ONE needs to drive 1000KM and swap in 4 minutes. That is CANNONBALL RUN lunacy. The Battery Swap should be used to sell smaller batteries like 50 or 60kWh as a daily driver then rent a 90kWh for a road-trip. NIO prices are too high and their design does not inspire me like ZEEKR, XPENG or even the best BYD. If NIO does not launch the ONVO L60 in every European country in the next 18 months they are done outside of China. Prior to the new Tariffs NIO sales in Europe are very poor the prices are way too expensive (they are not available in the UK). XPENG has far better leadership and real plans in the international sphere. XPENG just launched in Portugal. XPENG's co-chairman and head of product planning Dr. Hongdi Brian Gu, who presents simply as Brian Gu to Western media speaks the best English and understands Western markets better than any other Chinese auto leader, even better than Stella Li of BYD. Even if you double the price of the XPENG P7+ no German brand can match the car and the price. The car XPENG will focus on first is the G6 if the price is right it will make XPENG in Europe.
