I mostly agree. She needs to hit ~35% of those wide open 3's. Her defense and tenacity is obvious. I think her range is mostly in the corner (which is fine), which is 1.5 shorter than the rest of the arc.
The FIRST move is get Sides GONE! A real Coach does NOT repeatedly continue to blow 28 and 30 point leads. Get her a true consultant OR get her gone.
I think part of the issue is that CC and AB need to rest at some point and what better time than when the Fever are so far ahead. The real issue is that most of the players on the bench are kinda terrible, or at least aren't going to be able to play anywhere near the level of CC AB. It is just straight up painful to watch Dantas. It's like she is encased in molasses. Wheeler is... OK but she can't be an island. Berger and whoever those other people are.... not idea bc they never play.

Against Phoenix, it was Clark and Mitchell who contributed the most points to that win. I don’t think Mitchell’s going anywhere. Why would she? She’s part of one of the best, maybe the best backcourt in the WNBA right now. I think she put herself out on the market which was a good business decision to see what kind of money she could get. If she gets an offer for more that she’s making now she’s going to ask the fever to at least match it or better it. I think they’d be crazy not to because I think that she plays exactly the way Caitlin Clark wants to play if that game last night against Phoenix was any indication.

The proof of the pudding will be whether Kelsey plays collaboratively like she did against Phoenix in a second game, and a third game, and beyond. No question she can do it, but does she want to enough to sustain not going solo gunner? She really did look great in the game, but it seemed to me that cautious CC was not assuming anything about Kelsey beyond the immediate moment in the postgame media interview. Kelsey has been a very very hard sell.

The Fever need Kelsey Mitchell. I think she gets along with CC. Clark is a team player and she makes everyone who plays with her better. We do not need Wheeler. Is Nalyssa Smith really going to play with the China league after the season? I think Wheeler, Smith, Berger and Dantas and Wallace are all expendable.

Megan played for Spain's Olympic team. Like Caitlin, she's an Iowa alum, but graduated before Caitlin's freshman year. Megan set a number of scoring records for Iowa's program back in her college years, but then Caitlin came along and broke them!

In this last game Caitlin asked to be taken out so it wasn't Sides decision. Running at the pace that they do players need a break especially just coming back. The other team took advantage of it because the Fever's bench is weak.

Mitchell’s play has completely changed my opinion of her professionalism and basketball skill set. Unfortunately, of late, she has been hinting about leaving the Fevers to dip her toes in the free agency market. However, is this just her cleaver ploy and negotiation tactic to command more money form the Fevers i.e. if you want my skill set, pay for it. Nonetheless, long term, her leaving the Fevers will be a regrettable mistake on her part.
Unlike Shaq and Penny, 1:40 and Kobe, I hope Mitchell “I got it moment”is not in the rear view mirror. If I could say anything to her, it would be right now, you are a iron in a red hot fire so, stay with the Fevers and work with CC and AB until the fire dims naturally (which will come soon enough).

You are so far off on your Kelsey isn't a fit and both sides will be better without her. CC looks to make the right BBall move even at the end of the game. Not to mention the woman isnt stupid. She knows the Fever are by far the most popular franchise right now. Means there will be a lot of marketing opportunities for CC's co stars in the future. So 1st option (probably not contending) on a team and way less people care, or 2nd option (probably contending for years to come) and a lot of people are interested.

Hey Mick, there's nothing wrong with the Fever roster. If there is any change that should be made it's in the coaching staff, not firing anyone, but helping them improve a ton. The Fever should hire Phil Jackson as a consultant to further strengthen the coaching staff's playmaking. The current Fever roster has what it takes to be WNBA champions. They just need to believe in it.

They need a starting caliber small forward. Katie Lou, Lexi, Wallace are all backups taking turns but we get killed by A caliber small forwards like Copper every time we play them

I think you have a good case with Wallace. However, while Katie Lou and Lexie may not be a lot of flash, they give good solid minutes and they can run. Both aren't going to give 15 points a game but both are quite capable of catching passes on the run and converting. Both can knock down open 3s. Lexie is a beast on defense as well.
As for Copper, she is extremely talented. Nobody can take that away from her. That said, 18 trips to the FT line? That's a bit out of whack for any player in any game.
Copper has this tendency of lowering her shoulder and just seemingly attempts to bulldoze her way to the hoop. There's no way with that type of attacking style you get 18 trips to the line with zero charges called.
The officials in the W get themselves into too much controversy because of the cherry picking they do. I'm not going to say how many times I believe Copper should have been popped for charging last night, but it certainly looked like it should have been more than one.
It's gotten to the point with her style that even with an intentional foul like CC committed, which was mostly ball and below the head, Copper got really mad. It's apparent that she expects a foul to be called every time she lowers that shoulder and drives to the hoop. That's a problem despite how talented she is. And the thing is....she is getting most all of those calls. Again....18 free throw attempts with zero charges? Really?
Develop a deeper bench. Helps the substitution rotation. With a high-octane game, starters will get burn out. Get better players to support the big 3...

Mitchell is a big reason why the Fever wins. The rest of the team are somewhat mediocre players. Without Kelsey the Fever would be lacking a key player as CC is getting heavily guarded and cannot always score. They need to do whatever it takes to keep her. I think Kelsey just wants to see what other teams offer her. She was non-committal in the interview what she intends to do.
The person that must be let go or traded is Erica Wheeler. The fever needs to do what they can to keep Kelsey Mitchell as she is a high scorer and has worked well with C C and AB.
I know Caitlin won't say anything about sides. What I would like to know.... what was said to Caitlin that made her change the way she was bringing up the ball at a snails pace which in turn started the Mercury comeback. I would love to see more active/high-energy players like Mitchell to pair along with CC. Definitely need a pretty solid spot up shooter, since CC has a lot of drive & dish / pick-n-rolls now.

Honestly, I'm not convinced that the Fever need any more "stars". IF they can keep Kelsy, get Smith's attitude and defense a little more "on board", AND. if Sides can just get the proper players on the court at the same time, they will be fine. The 1st quarter was evidence of that. This team just cannot slow up the pace for any extended length of time. That's what happened in the 3rd. As soon as CC started pushing the pace in the 4th, look what happened. They need to run a simple offense on set plays. Give CC the ball, and set a bunch of screens. CC is virtually unstopable 1v1. When they blitz her, pass off. And she does. Really, it's that simple.
Smith, Wheeler, Wallace should go.

I am by no means a basketball strategist. I grew up watching football(American). But I would think that if you are trying to build a franchise with two young players like this, I’d be trading for young stars or draft picks. Try to get lucky with key role players and hit in the draft. Play for the future get a good young team around CC and she will win a few rings.

Indiana has no value past Hull on the bench. I do not want to lose Hull or Samuelson this year. Fagbenle I would not trade. Mitchell would be a rent-a-player for 12+ games for another team. At best Fever will get the 6th spot. No trade will get them higher or get them passed one round. I hear all this about Gabby Williams and personally I have never seen her play. From 2018-2023 she played for Chicago 3 years and Seattle for two year. She average 7 points 4 rebounds and 2 assist. Her last year was 8-4-4. All down from UCONN numbers but UCONN were less than double those numbers.

Smith, Wallace, Wheeler gone…Temi healed up and they’ll be in a great position to bring in great players. The reality is that they have some young players on minimal contracts. They need to get the Forward and Center situation figured out. More height that can run and keep up with the transition offense. Off season will be awesome…the reality is that good players will see what Indiana is building and want to go there. KM, CC, and AB with a couple more strong players and man look out they will be unstoppable.
I don't know, the team looks pretty dam good as of late, and they'll have Temi coming back soon who fits perfectly into the run n gun scheme. Wheeler and Wallace are more than likely gone whether it's this season or next.
