I don't know where these are coming from, either but, it's so wonderful, again, to be able to see them. I was an early teen and, a car nut. I remember being excited, when possible prizes would be previewed and, one would be a new Cadillac(or, if-as I saw, once-somebody WON a Caddy)! I ask, again, am I the only one who found the 'close' memorable? Talking, about the music and, Mr. Edwards' exit and, finally, the studio, going dark.
AIR DATE, January 28, 1975. KNXT 2 I have access to newspaper archives and looked up the Charlie Brown Special 7:30 The New Treasure Hunt 8:00 Charlie Brown Valentine 9:30 Benjamin Franklin - Statesman Melvyn Douglas
The late Geoff Edwards walking off stage while the theme music plays & the studio going dark was also somewhat memorable for me too even though I was like 2 or 3 years old when this was on tv.RIP GEOFF EDWARDS EMILE AUTOURI JOHNNY JACOBS CHUCK BARRIS NAOMI DEVARGOS & JAN MURRAY(host of the original 1950.s version)
22:17--Longtime Los Angeles television newsman Joseph Benti. He was among those on the air for CBS News in the immediate hours after Robert Kennedy was shot in June 1968.
Seen Monday nights at 7-30 on CBS 2 WCBS-TV New York. And at 10:55...that was the car that caused the woman to faint. That episode was seen on GSN a few years ago
NEPatriot Same too! It was on WCBS-TV (channel 2) until the mid 1970's, but the show returned in 1981 as "Treasure Hunt" when it was on WOR-TV (channel 9) where it has the same game as this one.
By the way, I live in CT, but in the NYC market. I saw a Game Show Wikia about The New Treasure Hunt including some old ads from TV trade magazines. It was seen in the Hartford/New Haven market on WHNB-TV Channel 30. The station now goes by WVIT, NBC CT.
Never saw this one, gonna love the closing music, because it was the instrumental version of the "Winner's Theme" from "True Grit" with John Wayne. I have not seen "True Grit" when this song was played. That closing music was from 1973 until 1977, but it was replaced by a different closing theme from the revived "Treasure Hunt" in 1981.
KNXT (and now KCBS-TV CBS 2) L.A. & Southern California Airs "THE NEW TREASURE HUNT-A Chuck Barris Production (SONY PICTURES TELEVISION)" at 7:30PM PST Starring The Late Geoff Edwards & The Expired Johnny Jacobs as the Announcer on January 27-February 2, 1975 in Color.
Geoff Edwards and Chuck Barris, along with Mark Summers on Double Dare and What Would You Do, actually ripped off Soupy Sales' brand of jokes, puns and slapstick humor for these game shows of the '70s and '80s.
CBN showed most of the run of 70s Treasure Hunt circa 1983-84. GSN only aired a few episodes of the 70s version and about 60 of the 90 episodes of the 1981-82 version.
Whoa!! A 1937 Rolls Royce phantom 3 & a Mercedes Benz?! They were considered cheap because today?! OMG!! Do you how much a Rolls Royce & a Benz together would be now?! At least a couple of million dollars!!
By that point that Rolls Royce Phantom was nearly 40 years old. You can buy a 40 year old Rolls Royce now for under $50k. A new Rolls Royce now goes for around $300k. A good new Mercedes is just over $100k. So not quite a couple of million.
wow...where are you finding all these(?) - are these mostly quad reels or Umatic tapes(?) - eventually you are going to turn up something real rare/desirable - like some appearance of some band that has been missing...or some missing episode of something.....
I've been waiting a long time 2 C other episodes of The New Treasure Hunt that I haven't seen since I was a kid. R U going 2 air other episodes of this show anytime soon?
50 years ago. Send me back please! And thank you, Chuck Barris, for this fun!!!
I was nine years old in Los Angeles when this aired - great memories!
Always loved host Geoff Edwards...
You couldn’t do a game show in the 70s without Jane Nelson. She was everywhere!
I remember watching this as a kid in the 1970s. So fun!!!

R.I.P. Geoff Edwards
Geoff Edwards was such a great host for this show!
Probably the first and last time she ever saw a 1000 dollar bill.
They were in process of being withdrawn from circulation at the time. Last produced in 1946. The U.S. Treasury decided in 1969 not to issue anymore.
Hey, there's Liam Dunn in a commercial!

Thursday nights at 7:30 on KPIX for me. After doing research...

@Andrew: IIRC, living in SanFran in the early part of 1977, KPIX Channel 5 had *Evening Magazine* as a weeknight show at 7:30.
In Louisville, it aired on WAVE 3.
I remember the ending theme. They used to play this on our local radio station to lead up to the top of the hour and the news segment.
Richerd Chikosky The closing music was the song from "True Grit" with John Wayne.
It Was On KING 5 TV In Seattle An Affilliate Of NBC In 1973-74.
KTRK - ABC Channel 13 aired all 4 seasons of this show.
GOOSEYGOOSE9 several years later in 1976-77 it moved to KIRO 7 (CBS) in Seattle
Literally, at the moment the commercial came on, I took a pack of Juicy Fruit out of the bag I take to work. Serendipity!!!!

The grand prize should be if this will come back to tv either $100,000 or $1,000,000 with A NEW CAR!!.(A DREAM CAR THAT IS!!)
It aired on ABC Channel 13 in Houston, TX from 1973 to 1977.
WJW (which was the CBS affiliate back in the day and is now today a FOX affiliate) in Cleveland aired the 1970's version weekly.
12:35- "THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW" did a parody of this ad----and Carol and Harvey flubbed their lines numerous times in the "blooper reel".....
"It's a veal cutlet, you cluck!"
This was a great game show reminds me of lets make a deal I bet most of all the people that appeared on the show are gone.

These game shows weren’t playing around when it comes to the money.
After counting for inflation, the $1,575 in 1974 is worth over $10,000 in 2023.
Just in case anyone cares, this is Episode #U - "NTH" - 74 VTR: 7/10/74
This was Taped the Same Day as The Rolls Royce Fainter Episode.
She passed a frog, she won't be "croaking" over that choice
If anyone here hails from the San Francisco/Oakland area, what channel aired it for the Bay Area folks, please? Thanks.
KPIX 5 aired this until 1976 when the station dropped game shows for Evening Magazine.
1:23 - Evenflo Toss'Ems Disposable Baby Bottles System - Babies in Heaven
Wonder if this episode was shown on CBN or GSN before. Great find!

CBN Yes, GSN No. The 1974 Episodes GSN Aired So Far was one with a Parrot Klunk/$8,000 Win, Ruth Davis $25,000 Win & The Rolls Royce Fainter Episode.
Yes. I think I remember seeing this one on CBN in November 1983.
Buzzr should get this!
@@Lupton2000 Which episodes of Treasure Hunt reaired on CBN in August 1984?

They should've had the frog turn into Emile.
19:06 That disco klunk music…🎼
Emile was the best part of the show
Back Side of Satan? Interesting product I would assume!!
I don’t think Back Side meant tussy in this case - it meant the back part of Satan
So how much was the frog (which Geoff just moved aside when the prince appeared) worth?
19:22 at least it's nice

No, he passed away in 2017.
