Yours looks identical to mine as far as speed... I cannot get more than 246 kph out of my bike and that is at redline. I can't figure it out. The manual says 264 kph top speed, but even if I pull the mirrors in tight, I can only get 246, and I have owned the bike for 20 years. Pirelli Diablo Super Corsa SP V4's, stock gearing, K&N air filter, Vance and Hines muffler cut down to 7 inches.
I've had a 1996 SRAD for 2 years now apparently it's good for 168 standard although I have a Viper exhaust I'm not sure if it gives it much more power as I haven't had the chance to give it full speed ahead..( although I did hit 140 on the A316 towards Sunbury and that was screaming in third Gear)
@@halo-7797 Definitely, i just bought another bog standard Gixer 750 97. They getting rarer and appreciating in value. You got plenty power for the roads and they still so much simpler n easy to work on than ur modern cyber machines!
Beautiful machine and great piece of footage. I have the 750 also, with a leovince exhaust and altered gearing to improve torque. Can I ask if you are still using the factory steering damper? It's one point im not happy about on my bike
I bought the same bike only different color just a few weeks ago. Did 240 with just over 10k and almost shit my self cause after 10k the bike went berserk like I'm hitting on nitro so I backed off on trotle with plenty to go on.
Check your safety switch on your kickstand. Mine would flop down for a split second when I hit a compression bump on the highway ... stop the engine cold for a second .. scared the shit outta me because I lost ALL power to the back wheel while in a turn.
Had 2 srads fi and carb,mate good video but stop being scared of corners that srad can corner trust the bike and go stop slowing down for slight curves.you will see what that old machine can do.

Love the '98 SRAD750. I had a 98 SRAD 750 and a 2006 R1. The 750 was more fun to ride and I prefer the 750s over the Liter bikes.

Umm I did 240 with only slightly over 10k with plenty to go on when I pulled back on trotle.
Maybe check compression, then valve clearances? The stubby exhaust may not be helping?

Most non-racing exhausts usually take away 2-3hp if so. 140 on an almost 30 year old bike is still impressive

Why the high range is so week? hardly to get 260...
yeah was wondering the same, it is over 10years since i drove the one i had. but it did pull ALOT harder than this one.
I've got the 600 SRAD and it will do 255 on a good day, so this struggling for 260 is strange

The tranny has been opened. You can hear straight-cut gears. Maybe the final was shortened?
Gear ratios had to have been changed somewhere.

I think after 1998 the 750 have Injection. The one in the video has Injection.

Anyone else here with a 1999 750 an have the issue with the bike jumping and stalling when put in gear ? ...had new clutch plates in but still jumps
