True story: I've been a drummer since about age 4, but started wanting to play keys somewhere in my later teenage years. Grew up in a family that had ALL the Hawkins records. I remember Peace Be With Thee from the New Dawning album and just loved it. I sat with that track so many times just absorbing it - the lyrics and the piano. The meaning of the Peace of God really comes through. Fast forward to when I finally sat down to get some piano lessons as an adult - my teacher asked me to play him something so he could see what level I was on. I gave him some of this song in C#. He almost threw me out of the class LOL!! He said "If you're doing all that, I'm sure you can figure out the rest of what you need to know" 🤣. I was like not at all, it's just one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite pianists. Good music has a way of drawing a musician in to be able to figure it out because it has that much of an impact. Now that I think of my late father and my late piano teacher who gave me that wonderful memory, I appreciate the song even more. PEACE!!! So apropos to so many situations. Such a powerful word. A testament of a God given gift and having a true heart for glorifying God through that gift is Minstrel Kevin Bond! One for the ages, thank you for allowing God to use you to write such beautiful music for DECADES!!! 🙌👏
