I was thinking the exact same thing when they went through Jämtland, my home county! 😍 It's fabulous to see the beauty through someone else's "virgin" eyes so to speak. ❤️
Lea, Everything is just picture perfect. I am not surprised you have taken so many weeks to get here and that you stop so often to take photos. And from the air it is even better. The beauty of Europe vs. N America is you have natural beauty as well as 1000's of years of history as well. Awesome episode..... I know I keep repeating myself
Hi Lea, good day. It's lovely to watch your new Episode of traveling to Lake Silijan & Red houses in Dalarna region of Sweden. I've enjoyed your journey thoroughly. Thank you for notifying me.
Hi ya Lea and travel partner yep absolutely loved them wooden house's fantastic carpentry..gorgeous sunsets and mesmerising Drone flying. So soooorry you broke your favourite sunglasses really enjoyed this vid...and the swimming well what can a bloke say but wow 🧜♀️🤭 see you next Thursday night adventure outstanding stuff 🤗🏍👍✌
The houses are beautiful. So many beautiful lakes to relax at. Every little village would be tempting to stop at and sample the local food. As always, thanks for posting this. 👏👏👏👏👏👏✌️
Sehr gut again Lea. The old bike is looking a little battle worn but still keeps going. I see you manage another sweet delight snack, it looked yummy. Swedish countryside, what more can be said. I hope you get yourself some new sunglasses soon.
Dalarna is a very nice place in Sweden. I've been there few times. It's very nice and beautiful. I live in Åmål. It's few hours to Dalarna. Thank you for a nice video 😎👍
Traveling in Dalarna is like experiencing Sweden in a miniature. The mountains and the Sami culture, the lakes and mountains, the red cottages, the craft tradition and the exciting industrial history.
Hi Leah. Greetings from Oz. The crystal blue sky made a pleasant change from all the rain you have endured. What a pretty little historic town. I bet the lake water was cold ! Thank you for taking us along on your adventure.
All that you’re doing is making me jealous that I’m not there. So I guess, I’ll do what others are doing. Live vicariously through you and your videos. Truly beautiful but looked like a cold swim. Thanks for sharing your view of this wonderful world of ours. Ride safe and have fun. 🇺🇸
@@Got2Go Well Dalarna is roughly 61° N latitude and I’m roughly 29° N latitude which puts on a latitude line with North Africa. So it would pretty cool for me. But still a beautiful place. Ride safe and have fun. 🇺🇸 P. S. Has the snow melted yet in Switzerland? I hope you can get out on your bike. Any hope of getting your Yamaha out of Africa?
Funny that you always long for a motorcycle adventure in some distant country. then you get to see this and see that it is actually fantastic at home, thank you. very nicely filmed.
What a lovely peaceful area. Glad you were able to have a relaxing day off the bike. Must of been hot to abandon your protective gear. See you next week hopefully.
Leksand is my hometown, and I appreciate your loving, sensitive approach. I am desperately trying to find a way to travel back to the Siljan area with my father, who may not have many years left. Thanks for renewing my inspiration and dream!
Just found this gem! Thank you for sharing your trip. I used to work at Green Hotel as the sous chef and lived in one of the houses you passed while filming. Hope you enjoyed your stay. :)
Thank you for joining the ride through your home country! I am happy that you like how it’s portrayed - and not mad about me pronouncing things weirdly. 😂
Hello, I follow you from Spain. I got hooked on your channel for the trip to the North Cape that every biker wants to do but the more I see, the less interest the North Cape produces. however I love the rest of the trip. it seems incredible to me. a trip to do it in 3 or 4 months. so many amazing places .... I loved this chapter. In such a stressful world, your videos give me a feeling of calm and peace that I would not know how to thank you for. thank you very very much
The roads always seem to be very quiet, I love the way the houses are Dotted all over, plenty of space. Fantastic sun set and drone footage. Very nice.

Hi Lea ! Your video is great, as always, and what I liked the most are the explanations about the origins of Falu Red and the Church. Lake Sanya is so beautiful and peaceful ! I envy you so much, but in a good way.
The history of red begins with a desire for more. And some greatness madness. In the 16th century, the Swedish king wanted his castle to be made of copper, just like the really big castles in Europe. But even the king could not afford copper for an entire castle roof, so the solution had to be to paint the roof with red paint made of pigment from Falu Mine. In any case, it looked almost like copper. And after that, a trend started to redden parts or all of the buildings so that they would give the impression that those who lived there were very rich. Red-colored walls at least about the brick walls that the Swedish greats sat when they rested around in Europe, but they could not yet afford any brick. During the 17th century, lots were built in Sweden and the expensive red color spread in the upper social classes. The king was a great inspirer, or an influencer in his time. For what the king did, the nobility wanted to imitate. Painting red was a way of asserting their status in society and the nobles soon began to paint red as well. The king gained more and more followers over time. To elevate its status, the church began painting the vicarages to make them appear to be built of expensive bricks. And when the nobility and the priests began to paint red, the military did not want to be worse, as soon as the offices of the high-ranking officers were red. Ever since, more and more of the military's buildings have been painted red, and even the soldiers' crofts turn red over time. In the 18th century, the color red was still seen as something very exclusive, and a luxury item that only the rich could afford. Having a red-painted house was a status symbol. It was therefore common for the side of the house facing the road to be painted red, especially if the king were to visit. Then the houses along the entire main street could be painted red, while the alleys and walls towards the courtyards were left colorless. But towards the end of the 18th century, the industrial production of red paint began at the Falu Mine and it became possible to produce cheap paint. Now the big farmers are also starting to paint their houses red.
