I bought a dishwasher from Home Depot and it was a lemon. Bought the 5 year protection plan and they had ASSURION people come out to repair it over and over and over and never fixed it correctly - after the last repair man came out I got a letter from them stating too many repair calls and they voided the warranty and said no more repairs will be made. SO no more buys from H.D. for me.

Home Depot refused to honor the 5 year warranty on my Milwuakee M12 Rotary Tool because I did not have a Home Depot specific warranty on it. I took it to Ace Hardware and they exchanged it, with the Home Depot receipt as my proof of purchase.

Just paid $180 for the 5 year protection plan on a new $898 KitchenAid dishwasher. No one at the store mentioned the 30% refund at the end of the plan if no claims were made. That’s great news!

Thank you so much for your positive comment a lot of times people who sell Electronics and appliances and have any kind of services generally don't know much about them and the reason why is because a lot of times they don't believe in them are they don't know sometimes you get lucky and you find somebody who knows their products their services and their guarantees it sure makes a difference to know the good the bad the ugly and the warts and all when it comes to your guarantees. Sometimes on some warranties you get nothing back put a piece of mind I haven't always used my guarantees but there have been moments when I didn't have them I was screwed and when I did have them I was able to take advantage of some of the maintenance if there was maintenance or some of the products that needed to be done and service work to keep the product running properly but you never know it's better to have a guarantee cuz I've had to use them and when I did get a chance to use them it paid off big time. Thank you for your support and have a blessed day

Deborah you are totally correct in the past my parents had a problem with their equipment the refrigerator add to have three ice makers replaced and a lot of time on the phone like you said unfortunately sometimes products get made that shouldn't be made and sometimes we buy those products and they're not always that great I've been helping people buy things for years and I sold electronics for years and years and some things seem to last forever and some things die I need to be buried so I agree that they need a lot of work to get their quality control under control not saying bad things about all products but sometimes you wish you would have had another opportunity to purchase something else my parents bought a refrigerator and had to have it replaced I had it on that had to have a refrigerator similar to the one they bought and unfortunately they were not happy it did however come to an end where they got a resolution I wish I could say that anything this woman made man-made or machine made would last forever or for a good long time but I guess that's why they offer these extended service and maintenance agreements so at least you have a chance to get help a good customer service goes a long ways unfortunately not everybody has good customer service skills or even cares thank you for your support and thank you for your information I pray God blesses you

I guess it depends on how much the warranty is, but given the lifespan of the new appliances it may be worth it because they seem to fail much sooner than before and right after the manufacturer’s warranty is up!

Thank you so much for your positive message I really appreciate it electronics for High-Tech they've got multiple brains it seems like inside of them what's different chips and things that they didn't used to have at one time but technology has gotten so technical that guarantees pretty much pay for themselves all you got to do is have one service call and then you're totally ahead of the game you have to weigh the facts if you read through the inscription that I sent my information on this video you can see all the different things that they cover if you have questions and concerns you might want to give them a call but you are correct Good crap breaks again thank you for your kindness and God bless you

Here’s how the warranty works you pay money up front then they might honor it. I will never buy a Samsung again. Just replaced one of the polycarbonate door bins that broke after two years cost me 157.00

If they didn’t profit A LOT on these extended warranties, they wouldn’t offer them. Chances are, you won’t need it. If anything is going to go wrong, 99% of the time it will within the first year (manf warranty) or after the typical life span. These warranties are crap. People who buy them are SUCKERS.

@@GaryLeeStanleyYourSalesGuy it’s like an insurance policy. Chances are extremely high that you won’t need it. With appliances, doing a little research on the most reliable brands and models, and using resources like consumer reports makes extended warranties unnecessary. My message may not be positive for extended warranty companies or salespeople, but it’s positive for consumers.

Purchasing an extended warranty - my experience through Sears, Home Depot, and Best Buy .... YES you should, and NO you should NOT. It Depends.
If you purchasing an Item that should have a long life span of 15-20 years and the cost of the item if it fails after the manufacturer warranty expires is as much as the unit you purchased then yes, it may be worth it, depending on what it covers.
Example: Dishwasher, Kenmore it was 20 years old, for the first 10 years we had an extended warranty on it, good thing too, the computer board failed not once not twice but three times. The cost of that board was $375 never mind labor. As a result of the warranty YES it paid off, the warranty itself was $99 for 5 years. So I did pay $200 for two 5-year extended warranties and got three computer boards replaced at no cost. Was it worth it? Yep in my mind it was.
If you're purchasing a computer or a smaller item that you could replace then I would not bother...but large ticket items, yes ... Dishwasher, dryer, Washer, Fridge, freezer... Sure I may have spent another $129 on the new dishwasher coming this Saturday, but that is really just $2.15 per month for the next 5 years. A drop In the bucket considering the dishwasher was $549 + Kit + Delivery + Install = $1,000+

Wow thank you for engaging great information thank you for taking the time to write all this that's really really cool and thank you for reaching out and making a statement that's awesome again when you buy a warranty or service agreement you may or may not ever use it but for myself on some of my smaller electronics and things like that I haven't purchased I guarantee I've had some inexpensive computers under $300 break crack within the lesson 6 months and then I'm stuck was broken stuff and it sucks. But thank you you are correct there are circumstances to weigh the facts thank you my friend for sharing

It might be I am from the south the terminology is just used and it's still being used by some of the people who are in the industry but it's not personal it doesn't have anything to do about color it just describes the Wood Finishing on the brown goods and the white goods because doesn't have anything to do with anything else I know it's funny I'm never the type person who wants to offend anyone so thank you for sharing and bantering back and forth with me you're definitely awesome
