The history channel that we all want to be is back!
i agree this channel is great
its a great channel but id rather be myself thanks
I missed this man.
My skin is mine! You can't have it.
indeed
What I wish the companies realise is that a well rested employee working 7 hours can do far more than an exhausted worker working a 10 hour shift
Really depends. I know some people who do jack shit even if they get a good nights rest.
companies & people in them tend to be fully aware of that. The point is having exhausted workers is more important to them than maximizing productivity.
@@noblechief4023 And they do jack shit even when working 10. What is your point?
If they won't do realize it on their own, we'll have to make them.
@@martinsmolik2449 I think the point is well-rested is only one(while important) of many reasons how productive work can be not the only reason. Some can rest well and do well while others won't even if they rest well.
The industrial revolution and its consequences... has turned me into a sleepy little guy.
"Good morning sleepyhead :***"
*BOOM*
“I've got a bad case of the 3:00 am guilts - you know, when you lie in bed awake and replay all those things you didn't do right? Because, as we all know, nothing solves insomnia like a nice warm glass of regret, depression and self-loathing.”

"Our Culture Is Ruining Our Sleep

Even better is that the video premieres in the early mornings for some places. you got to have a shit sleep schedule to watch a video on why you have a shit sleep schedule

@@D00000T I mean, that's more due to the fact timezones exist. There's literally no upload time that won't fuck over someone on this planet. That's how the earth works. However, the stream service sponsor is funny.
Growing up is realising that your parents are right about them regretting about giving you a phone
lol
The funny thing is I never asked for a phone nor did I want one yet my parents insisted in giving me a one anyway.
This hits too close to home…
And now they end up victims just like you :(
@@hazzmati wait why? I practically begged my mom to give me a smartphone when I was 10 years old
As someone who has had insomnia for most of my life and it’s hell. Some nights seemingly randomly and usually at least once a month I just can’t sleep and stay up all night resulting in a hellish day afterwards. On a more positive note though, it used to be a lot worse when I was younger happening almost every night at one particularly hellish point but it’s gotten a lot better over time
Melatonin tablets. Try them
Good to hear you are better. I remember that on holidays my sleep cicle shifted every 3 days. Sometimes I would sleep at 6pm, sometimes at 6am. The only thing that saved me was when I started working. Although I still somehow manage to sleep only 6 hours, it got significantly better compared to what was before.
How the fuck do you deal with it? My insomnia has led me to drug addiction and utter despair.
The guy that mentioned melatonin has clearly never had insomnia. This is another thing that drives me nuts, people have a small bout of shitty sleep where they can only manage 4 or 5 hours, and claim they have insomnia.
Try having a complete inability to sleep leading to total dysfunction in your life. Try going so long without sleep that you begin to hallucinate.
The human brain just isn’t designed to be able to handle prolonged periods of severe sleep deprivation.
Sorry for the rant, but it’s really driving me up the wall atm. I don’t know what to do.
@@caseclosed9342 ok it's been years you think they havent tried that yet
this video comes on the fifth day where I managed to sleep between 1 to 7 am ! I literally can't remember the last time I managed to do that but I've got my fingers crossed it continues and I hope one day I'll be able to do these 11pm-7am kind of nights everyone else seems to have, anyway, great video mate, I'm glad you're back seriously and take care of yourself too bro
Yall celebrate 6 hours of sleep? What the fuck has the world come to. God help you wagie.
@@streetsnotsafe1713 well I'm more celebrating the regularity of my sleep time, not really the fact that I sleep only 6 hours every night, but yes, even 6h is an improvement lol. Sometimes I'd attend a lecture at 8 having slept literally for 1h30. Sometimes I would simply miss classes just to get some energy, fucking up my next night. Or sometime I'd decide to stay up all night and be awake for 30 hours straight. My record is 54 hours though, but that was because of a bet (which I won don't worry).
So yeah lol, I'm not happy to only get 6 hours, but for now I'm just thankful for it, you know ?
Anyway I have no idea what wagie means but thanks !
Good to hear it man. A good 6-7 hours of sleep in the dark night (actually how they call the time between 10pm and 6am) is more than enough. But what’s amazing is that you find your happiness in it. Way to go brother 🙏🏻
@@1949AA thanks man !!
Night work destroyed my sleep patterns. My Apple health shows I only averaged about 5 hours of sleep a day.
It’s been about a month and only now have I cracked 6 hours of sleep on average.
This is so based. This reminds me a lot of Mark Fisher's book, where he talks about the huge, historic spike in depression, anxiety, and ADHD in recent decades (and not just because of better reporting). This way of life just isn't healthy.
People using buzzword are ADHD
Just like "wholesome', ngl, cringe, based, callling people legend (for doing nothing), "literaly" doesnt mean anything. People just overeact to present an image they are not. Same thing applies to "american fear" words.
@@eavyeavy2864 this is certianly true, however I think it's important to distinguish between conditions that can be developed (anxiety, depression, insomnia) and by extension exacerbated by one's surroundings, and conditions that you can be born with (ADHD, autism). Although I can't actually think of a better acronym to describe the world at the moment other than 'ADHD', so I often tend to think that this is definitely affecting the growth and attention spans of children growing up in the 2010's, who knows?
@@eavyeavy2864 I'm not sure if it's just being used in the buzzword context or in the technical context here honestly.
Nice, I did a piece on that, but in French ;)
merci pour ton reponse. j'apprends francais et j'adore histoire. alores, je m'abbone.
Glad to see you back, always been an inspiration for our channel
Thank you for this video!! I wish you the best for dealing with your illness.
Also, the new intro is very very cool :)
Awesome intro. And welcome back, man.
Man you’re not alone. I have not had “good sleep hygiene” primary school. But I am in love with history, geography, economics and political science, along with business. Keep your head up.
He’s back! And the new intro looks really good.
Lovely to see you back on here!
We miss you papa.
And now people who are in this rut are being told by influences that they are having too much sleep and to become happy and wealthy you need to sleep 3 hours a night and have a horrible life or your not working hard enough.
Amen brother. Those clowns should be banned from social media fr
Mate you can always rely on the fact that quantity never overcomes quality. Take your time and take things as easy as possible, we'll love your videos no less
its crazy how your videos seem to be of higher quality everytime you release one
That new intro is amazing!
Yooooooooo welcome back!!!!! I hope you are well and good FH!
I'm loving the new animated intro!
oh man and here I am at 2:00AM looking at this and it hasn't even premiered yet very ironic
Great to see u back 👍
hi great video man really interesting topic to cover
using color filter for turning the screen of our gadgets to black and white helps in reducing the impact of harmful blue rays. Moreover, reading a book before sleep, eating a healthy diet taking and enough sunshine(vitamin D) will help us to combat insomnia.
Good to have you back mate
Return of the King
Me at 1 am waiting for the video to drop in 5 hours
Dude you're back!!!
He’s back!
I have insomnia and your videos really help me sleep
I still remember in high school and college people would subtly brag by lamenting how little sleep they got, and all nighters were already normalized at the high school level. Absolutely insane, but such were the costs people were willing to pay to keep up with their peers.
Welcome back Aussie!
I'm currently only partway through watching the video but I find myself agreeing so far. I think there is a reason why every sleep expert, mental health specialist, and doctor all agree on one key thing in regards to sleep and technology/internet. The tech must be shut off a significant amount of time prior to bed and one must begin a sleep ritual to get themselves brought down enough for a real and proper rest.
Speaking personally, I have all my alarms preset so I don't ever have to touch them before bed, I know they will ring. My phone goes to the darkest possible setting, but I never look at it again past a certain hour. Before bed is not spent on the phone, it might be spent reading a book, or just silently thinking about the day in the dark. It really helps calm the mind in preparation for sleep. Flipping through the phone before bed not only hurts my eyes, it also just messes up my ability to fall asleep and stay asleep at all
Interesting to learn. Thank you.
I'm glad to see you back. Please, don't apologise for staying away.
video on point ☺️
he´s back!
My boy back
Thanks to your video, my insomnia has gone now 👍🏻👍🏻
It lives the channel lives
Finally, the absolute legend returns
Honestly, make sure your physical needs are met. It ain't rocket science....
Full enough belly, hydrated, don't have to use the bathroom, quiet in the residence, low light (cover up windows in city apartments).
During the day, exert yourself physically to the point that your body craves both food and sleep. You can work yourself back into a healthy metabolic rhythm, the human body is extraordinarily resilient and well designed.
To the video creator: thanks for taking the time to upload a free video.
It is ruining my life. I can't sleep for 36-48 hours at a time and when I can it's only 3-4 hours of sleep with heavy nightmares. I really don't understand why but it is quite awful

Employers need to realize how important it is that their workers are well rested. But they are all blinded by greed, and are indifferent to the suffering they are causing.

Brother can you make a video about the history of Lebanese Civil War
I'm sure you know that New Zealand flag had Australian flag stars. 1.20 am in Auckland btw.
If we all stopped watching RUclips and stuffing blue wavelength light into our eyes until 2 AM, we would all be more rested. But then again, that would be admitting that we're messing up our own lives. And that would be uncomfortable.
Not everyone stays up until 2am on their phone😂 Majority of people are easily able to set a schedule for themselves/get a good night sleep. People read books before they go to bed too, yknowww? Its really just your own fault if voluntarily watch YT videos until 2am
And all the healthy, normal people who don't give a shit about social media or time-wasting videos are out living their lives, instead of being in this comment section...

Does anybody know the source of the painting used at 4:58?
I don't sleep much, I get about 5 or 6 hours a night. I draw and paint a lot, and find my best work comes at about 1am. Then I go to bed, wake up and figure out if it's worth refining it when I'm 'normal' again.
