Very informative! Great video, not many RUclips reviewers actually talk about things that an owner would talk about and future owners would want to know. Thinking about going from Model Y to the X, and these are definitely things I would want to know before making a decision.
Model X is definitely the more comfortable out of the two I would definitely suggest the X especially after the huge price drop. Be sure to use a referral link before buying either so you can get promotion and discount as well or whatever tesla promo is for the time of your order.
I just sold mine because it left me stranded on the side of the road after being less than a year old and very gently drive. Do a search for "Tesla inverter failure -solar" to see how common this is. You have to put the "-solar" because Tesla solar has so many inverter failures too. It's almost unheard of to be left stranded on the side of the road while driving by an new ICE car. No more EV for me. Back to reliable ICE cars. Having the car shut off on me while driving and then not being able to get going again is something even very old ICE cars haven't done to me.
Nice review, but for the fogging, you have to press twice. If you press once, the icon turns blue and just ‘blends’ the air, for defogging in colder months, you have to press twice and the icon will turn red and blow hot air. That will remove the fog immediately.
Excellent video. I have a 23 X and have experienced many of the same things. I have not yet been through a northern Illinois winter, so perhaps I will have to add the cold weather frustrations. The window fogging looks like the most dangerous. I suggest the steering wheel heater on automatic for the button problems. I never needed gloves on my Model Y. The auto setting prevents it from overheating, which my Y would do if I just turned on the heater.
Ya i drive with my gloves off, it’s just when I get in the car after shovelling snow or taking the snow off the car i wear gloves and when i get in I forget to take off the gloves. Heating steering wheel being auto is the coolest ever
3:37 For the fogging issue, I found two things that helped: 1. Rain-X anti-fog spray 2. Adding extra seals around the A pillar. I noticed the seal wasn’t tight between the windows and air was getting let in.
Your last gripe about the tyres rubbing is because you're turning the yoke whilst stationary, that's normal on any car and you can't complain about that really.
Nice video I love my x as well and have experienced the turning noises when stopped until I figured it out. The “hill assist” is on when stopped it looks like this on the screen ((H)) It holds the brakes when you remove your foot to prevent you from rolling ie backwards down a hill. Tap the accelerator and the ((H)) disappears then turn the wheel, no noise. The tires naturally want to move a little when turning but the brakes are preventing any movement until it “breaks free” creating each tiny thump. Hopefully this was insightful.
The tech in tesla is top notch, also looks good but man all these little things would drive me nuts overtime. I wonder if the germans rivals have these faults
When the weather is hot, my front doors refuse to open all the way. And the Falcon Wing doors refuse to open at all. It is embarrassing to the point other people nearby see me and my family or friends struggle to get either in or out of the Model X. Also after heavy rainfall, the rear brake lights show water condensation. Tesla Service Centers (2 of them) tell me the same thing that "it is within Tesla's specs" and there is no fix for that. OMG, I have never had any cars in my life with water condensation in brake lights except my first Tesla. Besides, Tesla uses a lot of plastic pieces for its exterior and interior trims. As the trims are exposed to sunlight and hot weather and cold weather, the plastic trims harden over time and when the car runs on uneven road surfaces, there are interior rattle. It is not loud, but is annoying especially when I and my wife are listening to light music or classical music while driving. Then, there are various spots with panel alignment issues which Tesla Service Center has said to me that they had tried their best to fix but could not fix any further without causing other alignment issues somewhere else on the exterior of the X; and I just have to live with that since it was my fault not to check the car thoroughly out of initial excitement on delivery day. However, should Tesla has better quality control especially for such an expensive car? I have the performance model, so there is the well-known front upper control arm failure issue under fast acceleration. Tesla has not done thorough testing of the vehicle with its super fast acceleration and Tesla has failed to therefore know this design defect where the car is relatively top heavy compared to other Tesla sedans and with the air suspension on Regular height setting or High setting, the sudden transfer of weight breaks the upper arms easily. I have had the front left upper arm fixed once and front right upper arm fixed twice. So far, I have some regret of buying it especially the depreciation is crazy for Tesla cars, they lose values so quickly.
I live in China and it's been six months since I got the X, I've been waiting for it for almost two years. The most two things I don’t like are rattles and auto wipers. My FWD always makes noise when I am driving, I went to the service center several times and it was fixed but only half to one month, I’m looking for someone who has the solution to fix it once and for all. Another thing will be auto wipers, it's just like a savage kid who doesn’t know what he is doing. But overall, I still enjoy my car so much, and I would still recommend it to my friend, based on clearly explaining its pros and cons.
Other brands have Wiper fluid go down window.. my ipace and evoque for instance. Rattles will be in any car, just more audible in an electric. Ipace is actually pretty quiet, just with horrible range and service.
TMX is such a good deal to me, in comparison to Q8-etron which is on my shortlist, but there are just small things you showed in the video, which forces me toward Q8 even though I would pay ~20k USD more for top spec Q8-etron. Btw, owning TMY from Berlin, except the firm suspension the car is good, wanted to stick with Tesla only because of infotainment but more videos from real owners I watch the more I do not want to purchase it.
Maybe you can apoly your car for the buyback tesla program. One youtuber in southern California did it and they gave him all his money back because he has too many problems with his model x
Canada does not have buy back lemon law that is why I did not try to do it after them never able to eliminate the rattles and falcon wing driver side to function 100% right all the time
After 1 year of having my Model X, I started missing my Model Y. I got the X last December and since then I started knowing every technician working on the Service Center because I see them every several weeks. Other than the car now is worth $30K less than what I paid. Do you think the Lemon Law work for us since Tesla is not fixing our cars noises?
I’ve never experienced the falcon wing door hitting anything with my 2022 model, also never experienced that kind of sound (experienced a sound but got fixed) maybe you should return the car at this point. Do you have the swivel screen with the better GPU? Maybe it’s cause it’s the older version
We loved Tesla Model X with autopilot on expressway (130KM/H), We can rest in Luxury MVP as House Room or Reading Books, Our Time looks like gold, We never care about Crazy Lamborghini Car (No Google Services, No Carplay), Bugatti Veyron (No Carplay), We need making to feel great in expensive cars as our feeling live in Mansions or Big Houses, R.I.P Supercar or Hypercar, We had Tesla Model X

Tesla know to make excellent computers on wheels. Now they just need to learn to build cars.
Thank you for pointing out real life troubles with Tesla

I have done that and it still does not work properly during extreme cold
Excellent video. I have a 23 X and have experienced many of the same things. I have not yet been through a northern Illinois winter, so perhaps I will have to add the cold weather frustrations. I have the same complaints as you have. Like the door fights with you, horn position, turn signal issues, wing door hitting us
Yes totally annoying

Ya tech and minimal interior design is just amazing from Tesla

The most honest video.
Other brands have Wiper fluid go down window.. my ipace and evoque for instance. Rattles will be in any car, just more audible in an electric. Ipace is actually pretty quiet, just with horrible range and service.
The windshield wiper fluid getting in the car has happened to me with multiple vehicles that's just Tesla tho .
I do believe those are rear seats. That is happening on my model x too.
I just bought a model x. Is being shipped and getting here in a week. 😮😮😮

8:45 wondering if most of the owners had this problem!?
I have a 2024 MX, been one month, and yes rattles.
Surprised about this, I have a 2018 MX and I don't have any rattles at all.
Maybe you can apoly your car for the buyback tesla program. One youtuber in southern California did it and they gave him all his money back because he has too many problems with his model x

Unfortunately Canada does not have lemon law
Have you had any of the half shaft/CV vibration issues that seem to be common? What about premature tire wear due to camber?
Love your videos!
Glad you like them!

Mine does not have swivel screen, also how could I return a car
I love tesla model x plaid❤
Still very nice car.
Absolutely
does music cover the sound of the rattles?
Yes
Are you happy with the yolk steering wheel? Going to order Model X soon, trying to decide which steering wheel to get???
