    I bought it when Donda 1 was released in August. I didn’t see it as a stunt and I didn’t buy just to listen to Donda 2, I’m very interested in his creative process. He started developing a prototype during the Jesus Is King era and I’ve been interested in how technology can work like that without buying expensive music equipment. As a person who loves to listen to EVERY part of a song, I found this device to be such a such a huge step forward in how we can listen to music.

    Wouldn't say it's worth it for Donda 2.
    It is worth it to be able to break mixed music down into music stems so easily, though; that's not a simple process even with today's software. Donda was looked at as the main selling point for most people, feel like they missed the point of the stem player entirely.
    It's certainly not intended to be a media player primarily.

    Bro honestly hearing you say is a media stunt is kinda disappointing, you clearly don't understand how massive this could be not for the future of music, but for the future of artists, this is ye breaking a boundary once again on how artist can give the music to the listener without streaming platforms milking their work, c'mon brah

  • @SeanK1998

    Really great idea, but it needs to be polished before i consider buying one. I would only want the highest quality audio files which would take up a lot more space, so it needs more memory. I’m a drummer, I would primarily use it to isolate/cut drum tracks, mixing would just be a gag with friends. Hopefully theres a second edition w acceptable memory.

  • @itsnoodlesznpt2
    @itsnoodlesznpt2 2 года назад +15

    i’m definitely buying one of these - playing with stems of a song sounds like a fun thing to do to kill time. i mean, 200 quid for only an 8gb device seems like absolute shit, but i absolutely adore the features and the fact you can even add effects to a song. not only that, but you can do it with any song thanks to mp3 and yt links.
    oh, and new music is always being released, so even if you do get bored of the device, you can come back to it in a few weeks to mix with some new songs or discoveries.
    though, if you’re buying this just to listen to donda 2, i would not recommend paying that much for an album that’s unfinished anyway.

Songs that weren’t made for this (ie created with 4 separate “stems” [though even stems is pushing it]) are probably just passed through a band filter. Something you could do with any free daw with better results.
