Awesome man! Love how you’re open to trying “exotic” delicacies. Btw the chewiness was coming from the white hard part at the bottom of the egg. It has the texture of an eraser. Many people like to eat it, but most also do not like it. If you try it again, you can leave it out haha.

You should try the one of the exotic food in the Philippines The One Day Old chick a whole smal chicken. It's famous delicacy in Nueva Ecija . And you should try the Lechon Buwaya or a whole Crocodile grilled in DAVAO.,🤩👍

Hope you find time to go to Manila now to witness the New Jones Bridge in Manila and the newly built Esplanade, You can also dine in Cafe 1919 inside the Old China Bank Building near Jones Bridge, or the Le Cathedral inside the Intramuros. Then you may also try Spiral Buffet at the Sofitel Hotel and try visiting Manila ocean park all the way to Okada manila.

But when it is eaten, you do exactly what you did but you shouldn't eat the white hard chewy thing at the base of the balut. This has no taste and doesn't have to be eaten.

Dont eat the chewy part. thats the last part of the balut. You could have left it on the shell. We Filipinos dont eat that we leave it on the shell. Next time eat only the yellow part and the small chick which is the first and second part of the egg. The last part which the whkte chewy part, dont eat it. Throw it away.
