What a lovely loving couple. It's so nice to see 2 people so respectful and comfy with each other. In awe! Thank you for sharing your experience so well
I can't wait for this one! I lived in Panama (Army brat😊) during the late 60's. We would always go to Rio Mar to surf...and just hang out. Great times! Edna
I like all of the videos that I've watched, but I absolutely loved this one. Keep up the good work Jackie, thank you for all you do. I will be in Panama on 10/04/2024 to get my temporary visa.
Finally we can find at the channel showing something really decent and classy in Panama. Yes, such places do exist and RioMar is one of the top ones. Welcome Paula and Dean to our paradise 😀
Cool. I live in Indianapolis. I grew up in Panama and Rio Mar was my favorite beach. There was absolutely no development. Just some bohios where you could spread out your picnic lunch.
We have seen pictures of it back in the day and it looked magical! I'm so happy you got to experience it here. Indy is wonderful too for different reasons.
@@pkfreedomgirl We currently live in Arkansas but got our permanent resident visas 3 years ago and are trying to get to the point we can move there permanently. We are going to Bocas Del Torro on vacation in 2 weeks but love the look of Rio Mar there in San Carlos. We need to put that one on our short list 👍Maybe we will see you round. 👌Great interview too
Expensive compared to where? We live for MUCH less here than we did in the US. There are much less and much more expensive areas around Panama. Work through your personal budget and see what works for you. 🌞🌴
@@pkfreedomgirl HOA at $500/month is pretty expensive for Panama. I realize there are a few other developments with higher HOA's but this is pretty spendy for Panama.
@@mtngrl5859life is a choice. We chose here for so many reasons. Yes, we pay just below $500 which is higher than other properties. We love the smaller property and the other residents so much. We also are floored at how amazingly well it is maintained. The fees also includes our gyms, a spa, our gas and water and a parking spot within a covered garage. So, for us, it is perfect. 😊
@@mtngrl5859 while it is true that we could have chosen a much less expensive area, we chose it here for SO many reasons. Our fee is below $500 but it includes our water, gas, a gym, a spa, a beach we like (with pirate caves and a surf school), perfectly manicured grounds and an amazing community of like-minded people who we simply adore. Definitely do your research when coming to Panama. There is something here for everyone. We are so thankful to be where we are.
We all have sprinkler heads in our units in Rio Mar which is concrete construction. Also, I've heard someone else joke about the firetruck thing as well. They said they wouldn't live above the 5th floor. We live on the first floor above PB. 😉
Paula and Dean my wife and I are very interested in the Rio Mar area for living --- although I am a golfer LOL ... is there a restaurant in Rio Mar which would allow us to see the amenities? Looks like you two are very happy to be where you are ..... love it! - We are coming to Coronado Dec 26-31 this year
@pkfreedomgirl - enjoyed watching the video and hearing your story. My wife and I were born and raised in north-central Indiana. We moved to Texas in 1995 and raised our children there. Rest of family still lives in Indiana. As a matter of fact, I'm writing this from my FIL's sofa in Rochester, IN. We're up here for a month to check on them. We retired in 2017 and moved to Mexico. Love it there. However, I still have an interest in exploring Panama. Rio Mar sounds very nice. I've watched a lot of videos about other places in Panama, including Coronado, Costa del Este, and Playa Caracol. Before moving to Mexico I had considered Boquete but looking back am glad we didn't land there. Would enjoy hearing more about your lifestyle there. Do you think it is particularly hot and humid? My wife thinks it would be too hot. We currently live in the central highlands of Mexico where its never too hot or too cold. Do you have Panamanian health insurance or do you just pay out of pocket?
@@troymills9437 hey fellow Hoosier. We have our residency in Mexico as well, but we call Panama home now. It is definitely hot here but it amazing how quickly you acclimate. We don't even have air conditioning in our old classic Jeep we brought down. You learn to love it. And the breezes are amazing where we are. As far as insurance, we currently pay out of pocket, but are trying to decide to what to do currently. We are impressed by the care here and the prices are very affordable. Someday Medicare, but for now...🤷🏻♂️
Remember staying in some run down trailers on the right side of river there....5 dollars a night with running water and electricity, surf on the point to the right there is awesome at low tide, I knew they were kicking the old guy and his wife off that side so we got a collection to give him....this time frame was 92-95, in 92 was just myself and an older guy and his grandson....love Panama, Daugters family still live there
We're not much of conventional medicine ppl. Do you know how the integrative/functional medicine is in Panama and naturopaths, Herbalists etc. are they cheaper than in North America? Thank you. This spot looks so beautiful ❤️ Thank you for sharing your experience 🙏
Well, when you have lived in a state where you have seen entire neighborhoods and towns flattened by tornados, a big thunderstorm is fun to watch and ride out!
Our sand is mixed both black and lighter sand. It's beautiful to watch the two sands intermingle. Santa Clara is white sand as are the Caribbean side beaches. We love the Carribean too. 😊
Apparently, you've never been to some of the beaches in Florida. At least you can afford to eat/still live in Panama because The Caribbean is too Americanized/expensive to do anything but vacation there.

MY RULE TO STAYING OR LIVING IN ANY HIGH RISE DWELLING...NEVER GO HIGHER THAN THE TALLEST LADDER TRUCK FIRE TRUCK.
Which is what floor?
@@rodmosley1699 I would think 3 floors there. Panama firetrucks capabilities might be different than the US ones.
