@Florence81226 it was literally my first or second time out with it. Ive done more proper offroading since then, and it is just fantastic for a camry wagon. Look up Peters Mill in Virginia, thats about as aggressive as Id go without a lift. Didn't sweat it at all, but I did use my custom skidplate a couple of times 😆 I also take it out to GreenRidge every year where there is a few pretty challenging trails.
Interesting. I was thinking of a 2 inch lift from Torq engineering and falken wildpeak AT trail tires on my 2022 awd Highlander for camping and adventuring on mild trails. Lousy approach and departure angles get me cautious.

Looks like some great scenery. Leaves all changed here a few weeks ago and are pretty much all gone now. I’ve had mine down some trailers a few times, I think found clearance and suspension travel are the enemies here.
I never dragged on anything. There is one obstacle up there thats for the big wheel, high clearance boys otherwise everything else is perfectly manageable.
GARAGE79R I’ve not dragged mine either, but I’m pretty aware of it. There’s some trails here that got almost too hectic for the Grand Cherokee I had even with all the electronic traction aids and proper off-road tires. I don’t dare even take the highlander near that lol
As was I! I was rolling with the local Yota crew and they said we are going to the watershed and I was like wait...its still open?! We had to clear a couple large fallen trees but hell yeah
Nice off roading. Is it in the midwest??? I own a 1st gen highlander 2wd wrapped with 255/70/16 in front and 245/70/16 in rear. All bf goodrich ko2s. Not too many guys off road on the Highlanders because its not a 4runner..(chuckle)
@@brianchisnell1548 but it's a very fun rig if you know what you're doing. Im now running 265/70/16 bfg km3s wrapped on pro comp 252 street locks on 1 inch titan bolt centric wheel spacers. It's lifted 1.5 inches. I went through mud,snow, and private steep gravel hillclimbs up the bluffs and never had an issue. Especially it's a fwd. Traction control helps alot. Getting both sides of the wheels to spin and slip. Plus I don't spend as much money on maintenance compared to the 4runner guys. My brothers rig. The master brake cylinder broke. It cost 2000$ for the part. Mine cost 600$. I can still have fun offroading.. yes it's basically a gambler not meant to tackle deep ruts, and rock crawling. That is a pretty tame road to test a Highlander. I have a 2012 and I have been dealing with snow this week and it handles OK.

I feel like the first gen highlander was great but the suspension was its weak point. I still own an 04 that i daily to keep the miles off my truck.
Just brought a 2005 4wd highlander cam it handle the sand beach

I own one too 2002 highlander Fwd she did just enough of off road but I absolutely love it the comfort the capability that car is invincible
Highlander is a camry. 4wd v6 is a great snow car. It is not a truck
