    Final Cut is great for making things look professional but CapCut is easy and like you said BUILT for social media. Both are good just different uses.

      Do you use both - Im FCP, but Ive been told by another editor its great for vertical content when you want some cool transitions etc. Would you recommend using both. My video work is now 99% vertical.

    So I’m just starting my professional career as a video editor and from what I gather I need to use either premier pro or divinci resolve to be taken seriously. Not sure how true that is but everything I’ve done on my RUclips channel is with capcut. It’s been pretty easy to use as a beginner

    • @GuilDormeus
      @GuilDormeus  11 месяцев назад +4

      Ya PR is industry standard and so is Divinci. I understand why people say you need to learn those two because if you were to work with a team, everyone could work on the video and those apps make it easy. Depending on the project, the client just wants their video. They don’t care about what you used.

    My son uses capcut, i've been on the davinci kick for years now. Davincis newest version has transcription which you can use to make captions and can even edit from the transcription. I originally cut my teeth on Sony Vegas (which i think was the fastest editor ive ever used) but its kinda fallen behind the curve. Davinci has some things that I haven't seen anywhere else (fusion and some of the color handling tools). Everyone has their preference and what works for one doesnt work for others.

    • @GuilDormeus
      @GuilDormeus  11 месяцев назад

      Many moons ago I used Sony Vegas as a kid. It was a great experience but my old dusty computer at my parents house couldn’t handle it. I have the free version of Davinci and I really like but man, I work so much fast with Final Cut Pro. I love using InShot on my phone too, it’s a super basic video editor and has so many features

    DaVinci Resolve has auto captions, not sure if it's available with the free version but i use it a lot in studio. I gotta admit though, cap cut looks really good for fast easy tiktok and reels edits on the fly than how I do it in resolve studio where i make about a dozen short form videos out of long form.

    • @GuilDormeus
      @GuilDormeus  Месяц назад +1

      Wow, I didn’t know that! You’re right about CapCut, you can easily make clips for social media. There’s even an option to directly upload videos to TikTok. You take long form videos and turn them into clips.

    Goddamn CapCut sucks is it really doesn’t have a normal trim tool? Something like the trim tool (T) shortcut in FCPX. It’s like when I already have a few clips on the timeline and I want to move one video forward or backward within the clip without touching the left or right corner of the clip. I don’t want to change the length of the clip and position; I just want the video inside the clip to start a second earlier or later. For this simple, basic tool, I need to use replacement, then choose that video and find the right spot, or start moving the left or right corner to find that good start and finish.

    • @GuilDormeus

      Good point. I treat CapCut like all of my tools in the real world and my computer, I use it when I need the features from it. Is it better than FCPX, maybe. Not for you or me but to the average person who uses their phone, CC is great
