Do you use both - Im FCP, but Ive been told by another editor its great for vertical content when you want some cool transitions etc. Would you recommend using both. My video work is now 99% vertical.
Quality video dude. I'm mainly shorts at the minute using CapCut, but refuse to pay for Pro. Trying to use Final Cut Pro more seeing how much I've paid for it.
So I’m just starting my professional career as a video editor and from what I gather I need to use either premier pro or divinci resolve to be taken seriously. Not sure how true that is but everything I’ve done on my RUclips channel is with capcut. It’s been pretty easy to use as a beginner
Ya PR is industry standard and so is Divinci. I understand why people say you need to learn those two because if you were to work with a team, everyone could work on the video and those apps make it easy. Depending on the project, the client just wants their video. They don’t care about what you used.
Thanks. I am considering using CapCut for auto subtitle overlay, but the video is better to edit in Final Cut. There are more settings for sound and video processing.
i love capcut as it saves time and its beginner friendly; you can edit short under 30 mins very easily , THATS IT ofcource i am not counting time taken to research and finding footage and picture ,,AND script
Capcut is not only powerful but it’s so easy to use. I forgot to mention in the video that capcut is owned by tiktok and it has all of the major keyboard shortcuts Final Cut Pro has
My son uses capcut, i've been on the davinci kick for years now. Davincis newest version has transcription which you can use to make captions and can even edit from the transcription. I originally cut my teeth on Sony Vegas (which i think was the fastest editor ive ever used) but its kinda fallen behind the curve. Davinci has some things that I haven't seen anywhere else (fusion and some of the color handling tools). Everyone has their preference and what works for one doesnt work for others.
Many moons ago I used Sony Vegas as a kid. It was a great experience but my old dusty computer at my parents house couldn’t handle it. I have the free version of Davinci and I really like but man, I work so much fast with Final Cut Pro. I love using InShot on my phone too, it’s a super basic video editor and has so many features
@@GuilDormeus I hear ya. Its like DAW's for audio. Some people fly on pro tools others in logic others in ableton. Go with what you know and only change if theres something you absolutely CANT do in your preferred editor.
DaVinci Resolve has auto captions, not sure if it's available with the free version but i use it a lot in studio. I gotta admit though, cap cut looks really good for fast easy tiktok and reels edits on the fly than how I do it in resolve studio where i make about a dozen short form videos out of long form.
Wow, I didn’t know that! You’re right about CapCut, you can easily make clips for social media. There’s even an option to directly upload videos to TikTok. You take long form videos and turn them into clips.
Very interesting to see CapCut more in detail in your calm pace, many other videos and specially their own promo stuff goes way too fast haha. Gettin' old here I guess...
@@LWT633 with the new update, it uses whisper AI for the voice recognition. Much more reliable. The caption options are sleek as well. There is a few extra steps, but not that much.
@LWT633 I understand but most people started video editing on old video editing software like Windows Movie Maker or something like that so Final Cut makes a whole lotta sense for me but I can understand how if you don’t have that background knowledge that anything can be difficult
i love capcut for the absolute vertical workspace. Final cut have no vertical ws. Preliere and Vegas pro also have this native space. I need more space for editing...
Great Video.... I kinda like both myself as well, I didnt think a free software like CapCut could be so good.... Obviously Final Cut Pro is fantastic but on a Windows Machine, I go CapCut over other video editing software. I actually use CapCut on my videos for my solo gigs lately more often now.... Again GREAT VIDEO!!!!
Thank you! Here’s the thing though, CapCut literally has updates every freaking weekend and the updates are amazing! I really hope Apple addresses the creator community during this years WWDC
@@GuilDormeus CapCut has been my main one lately too... the video i just posted like an hour ago on my channel was solely using CapCut.... I cannot believe how powerful it is for 100% free
Dude i love your cinematic studio look. So Captionator is a paid app you have to download but its not great in FCPX. Please do a video on your lighting setup.
Hey thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I recently got Captionator and it was not the best experience and it took just the same amount of steps for me to get captions on other apps. I’ll definitely do a lighting setup video, thanks for the suggestion.
i mean when you think about it capcut is free and have all the added features that no other editing software has like premiere pro or final cut ... it's kind of no brainer to use it 'cuz final cut is like what 299 usd ...
Goddamn CapCut sucks is it really doesn’t have a normal trim tool? Something like the trim tool (T) shortcut in FCPX. It’s like when I already have a few clips on the timeline and I want to move one video forward or backward within the clip without touching the left or right corner of the clip. I don’t want to change the length of the clip and position; I just want the video inside the clip to start a second earlier or later. For this simple, basic tool, I need to use replacement, then choose that video and find the right spot, or start moving the left or right corner to find that good start and finish.
Good point. I treat CapCut like all of my tools in the real world and my computer, I use it when I need the features from it. Is it better than FCPX, maybe. Not for you or me but to the average person who uses their phone, CC is great
It’s hard to believe and us fan boys hate the truth but CapCut is going to take over. With their Ai features, let’s check back end of this year and you’ll see.
Same here. Haven't had a job yet where they prefer adobe. If they do I hand over footage to one single editor in the team.. I will pay 50 a month for CapCut in the future even. Couple things they need to improve but. For my simple cinematic story telling. Does the job just fine.
I thought Appe may also buy Affinity software as well because it would be such a great feature to buy a mac with editing software by Apple. Its how Apple started out. Seems so obvious to me, but maybe Apple just aren't interested in the hassle
Hey thanks 🙏🏿 go to creativesareessential.co/collections/all it was from their older collection, not sure if they’ll run it back but they do have a set design
Hey thank you so much for that comment. Here’s the song I used. It’s called Warm blanket by Sensho. You can get it Royalty Free on Uppbeat.io and as far as the sound and video clips, I get the sound clips from Myinstants.com and video clips from vlipsy.com. Let me know if you need anything else
Hey! I can’t answer that for you but if you’re doing a lot of reels and stories and need some help with captions and stuff Canva and CapCut can definitely be a great tool.
Yes! I’m a premium member and ya it’s cool but usually I stream 1080 and to be 1000% honest with you, I don’t even watch these videos. I only listen to them while I’m working or driving.
Final Cut is great for making things look professional but CapCut is easy and like you said BUILT for social media. Both are good just different uses.
Exactly! I also forget to mention that Capcut is owned by tiktok

Fcpx is getting left behind by these other Video Editors. I love it because of its speed and how intuitive it is, and I want better for the program!
I love FCPX but you are so right. It needs a quick update
Great video. I use capcut for everything that is NOT my long form content, so easy and feature packed for viewer acquisition
Thanks bro! I do the same the same thing, CapCut is too easy to use! These kids nowadays are so lucky to have it!

The ONLY issue is that it might be getting banned, then there's the data security issues.
Ohhh…fair point 🥴
Final Cut Pro may be a bit more professional, but that's probably only bcuz is is 6 billion years older than CapCut
100% CapCut is a breath of fresh air. I love working with it on certain projects
