The screen is huge and the wheels are fancy, but 40K is ultimately crazy. Great hatchback and good to buy used too! I also like the ChatGPT tech. Just get one used!
Gorgeous car. Honestly dunno what people are on about. Ordered one in moonstone grey, r-line with sunroof and IQ lights. So excited the face lift is great. Really glad they’ve made the climate controls backlit. Yes it’s not as practical as knobs but it’s fine. The screen is a lot more responsive than the previous mk8.
Were you be able to disable the lane assist from the steering wheel? MK 8 suffered from the problem that even if you set it on the steering wheel, it was not communicated to the tablet so you had to turn it off on the main tablet.

I can fix the Golf by buying a Mazda 3, or a Peugeot 308, or a KIA C'eed, or a Honda Civic, or a Toyota Corolla. 😌 Even the Polo is ok now that I have a 2024 Mazda 2.
@@cinch neah... for every generation of Golf, I prefer a model from another car brand. I'm quite possibly stupid, because Golfs are brilliant cars, but I just don't like them.

You said that the car's engine is a 1.5 litre mild hybrid, but it's clearly a manual car so it must be the 1.5 without hybrid assistance. Otherwise a good review, but £37k is a bit steep!
You are totally correct and it's only just dawned on me that I was referring to the automatic eTSI at that point. I blame the fact I was actually quite ill on this drive and not running at 100% 🤒. If they’re going to have an illuminated badge why not the rear badge? As a brake light so only illuminates when braking and obviously in red 😂 don’t really like it. But I’ll never buy one so who cares.
Should never of need fixing. Let's face it, VW are overrated and are no longer really that good. If you ask me Renault are smashing it lately. I nearly bought a Polo but then I drove the new Clio. No comparison. Clio is miles ahead.
Renault have knocked it out the park with the latest Clio. Very compelling car. Sam Sheehan reviewed it here: ruclips.net/video/O8mST6Nzy3c/видео.html /Jamil
Is the Mk8.5 Golf the go-to hatch once again? Sam thinks it makes a much stronger case for itself, but what do you think?
New voxawangan golf 1.8l is good car and a high mileage good to go on motorway good for long drive and good for short. journey
It's just far too expensive. VW are just relying on their name and not much else

Why do i need chat gpt in my car? Go back to proper needles and plush interiors. Stop wasting money on gadget and put it into the materials.
I have to say, I do agree. I'd prefer if the money went into proper climate control knobs... 💁♀

So true.
Agreed, but keep the digital gauges imo. Glass/plastic gauges are a nightmare to keep scratch free

£37k ????????? Why is it so expensive???????
Here in Oz you can get a base Golf R (no sunroof) and £1k worth of fuel with that.
Have they fixed the design fault with the leaky rear speakers. Probably not.
What do you guys think about this new golf but some lower version not R-Line for about 28k €? Here they are probably little bit cheaper.
Another banger Sam review. Keep it up 👏🏼

Peak golf MK5 be real, no discussions
How is the reliability of MK8 though? Perhaps they skimped on perceived quality to actually deliver on mechanical quality this time?
