    The "Future acrylic floor finish" they used to sell in the 1970s aged the same way. You couldn't just let it build up because it absorbed dirt and looked dingy on the patterned vinyl floors that were popular back then, but when you stripped it off, it turned to the same Cream of Wheat mush we saw here.

    @SteamBossInc I used Quickshine and now I have scratches all over my floor. Guessing that they are scratches on the layer of this product and not the actual floor. Can I use the product you used to remove the 3 yrs of the Quickshine on my laminate floor?

    Just a suggestion I think you could have used a red pad it won't be that aggressive you probably use an orbiter or but that's a lot of work you guys are doing it must be a better way I understand you don't want to wet the Floor wit water too much cuz if you don't want to do that try to find a less aggressive pad and use a machine and then suck it all up with a vacuum

    • @SteamBossInc

  • @FR-tb7xh

    Great video, and great job! IMO, whomever came up with ‘laminate flooring’ was probably the same person that invented paper wood panelling. Or at least my point is made. They’re both cheap illusions of the real deal, don’t withstand the test of normal wear, tear, and time, and are notorious builder shortcuts to maximize profit fast. Very thin wood laminates are the worst. Really, having to strip a laminate floor down is like polishing a turd. Instead, folks whom can’t afford real flooring should just make do with subfloors, slap them with inexpensive non-volatile high-traffic deck paint, put in throw rugs, and save their money for the day they can install real flooring in a few years. Unlike laminate, solid hardwood floors increase in value.

    I am trying to do the exact same thing. After spraying the Unitex down and leaving it for a few minutes(as you did), it seems to be much harder to get off than what I see in your video. Looks as though the wax is breaking down much easier than what I am experiencing - its as though there is gum stuck to the floor. The microfiber flat mops aren't collecting any of the wax at all either. Any recommendations?

      rent a buffer machine and get a red pad, spray the solution on the floor and run the machine, for the corners use same red pad but wit a corner tool or scrapper

      They did the same thing in the apartment where I live. E erytime someone moved they poured more froor wax on the floor, over top of food crumbs, hair, etc.
      I am having a heck of a time cleaning up the mess.
      Also if I mop the floor wiyh floor cleaner, it reactivates the wax and it becomes extremely slippery.

      Well, that solves it, we won’t be putting wood floors in our house after all. I like the the glossy wood look and if all it’s gonna do is ruin the floor and I have to keep getting it finished to keep it glossy overtime. I’d rather just get tile. wood sucks.

    • @pcno2832
      @pcno2832 9 месяцев назад

      @@everythingyousayiscorrect This isn't really a wood floor and people probably put this stuff on to make it look less fake, and it works at first. The problem it that the fake finish (aluminum oxide, I believe) is so tough that nothing sticks to it for long. Real wood floors have some kind of varnish (usually polyurethane) that won't do this, but it does eventually get scratched up and needs some kind of refinishing. It's fine for a living room or bedroom, but I wouldn't want it in a kitchen.
