I was re-watching this video, and noticed the IAT's are hitting 165F, thinking he could probably benefit from a Meth Injection kit sized to run 100% Methonal. I am not sure what fuel the truck is tuned on, but assuming its 91/94 octane he could see some benefit from the lower IAT's, increased octane and if hes running a dominator (i wish i bought one rather then my terminator x max) he will actually have a config for Water/Methonal injection on the dominator for progressive control. With all the freebie inputs/outputs he could easily put a pressure sensor into the meth line as a safety incase the pump doesn't kick on or he runs out of meth. added bonus you can pick up meth (methyl hydrate) from any UFA, Home Hardware, Rona etc for cheap. If he really wants to go balls to the wall, Rodney at ProMeth can spec out a port injection kit for supplemental fueling. I will say everything i got was super quality looking/feeling, it can certainly be done cheaper but i got my tank, pump, port injection kit with solenoid, nozzles. gauges etc (even came with a thread tap and thread tape lol) ended up being 1800 CAD.
yes I agree! the street tune on 91 oct would benefit from a meth injection system, on the track we actually had it on e85, more boost and more aggressive timing.
I honestly am going to go back, and watch you build this engine now. i believe i watched you build it once before. but i just set the bearing clearances on my engine and am curious what kind of oil pressure i am going to see at first start as well. that truck is on 5W30? Also, whats your engine break-in procedure? i am building a street truck mainly. same thing, just an LQ4.
yes this was with 5w30 break in oil, with the bearing clearance on the looser side, the idle oil pressure will sit lower, in the 20 psi range hot low idle, when you increase rpms, oil pressure raises as it should. just cold idle oil pressure will sit up like this video.
