Excellent work raising awareness of many social, religious, relationship, and political issues of the world. As a person suffering from clinical anxiety and depression, I find your views both heartfelt and compelling. U are a "storyteller". Keep up the good work. May it be a blessing that brings tolerance to what has become an even more intolerant world. 😢 U are a light in the darkness. Thank U. Peace.
I remember and loved this song when I a young man aged around 11, the love for it has remained with me all these years, I don’t play it everyday just hear it occasionally and it brings back lots of memories growing up in London’s East End in the early fifties. When the world seemed a much quieter place.
I heard her song when 18 while living in Luxembourg, next to Belgium and learned the French words and sang along. I bought the 45 record and over the years lost it,but it was such a happy song that I have never forgotten it or the words. Never had heard this story, so am shocked ,learning about her life, her church and her partner. This was not the normal in the early 60's . I also was not aware that movies had been made about her life and death. How absolutely tragic.I'm almost 80 and still remember her fondly and am now sad to have found this out.
Such a sad but unsurprising end to this woman's life. The lure of the world so quickly overwhelmed and tore her apart. Her religious superiors should have been more vigilant and aware. They let her down for financial gain. It is all a type of metaphor for how so many Catholics have been cast adrift by a careless clergy ... and also subsequently torn apart by the world.
Wow. Well done indeed! I wonder if we can enter your mini-doc & the movie bios about her in the LGBT film festival? Let me know if you would like to give it a go.

The church hasn't changed in a 1000 years I've read or seen these videos where they were said to be buried outside of the cemetery 🪦 whether you were a sinner or a witch or Jewish or something else
I didn't know nothing about her and her life she led but I knew that song made her famous and I have seen the movie 🎥 with Debbie Reynolds I'm not Catholic but I do love the song (Baptist) She was on the Ed Sullivan Show and he was in the movie 🎥 there's not that many movies that have nuns: Sound of Music,Sister Act, Where Angels 😇 go and Trouble Follows and the Nun's Story and Heaven Knows Mr.Allison but this video is nice about her but is any of her family still here on earth 🌎
I remember and to this day love the song. Yes. It is a tragedy what happened to them. However, Scripture as well as Catholic and other Church's doctrine are against suicide. Also, Scripture and Doctrine are opposed to homosexual relationships of any kind. She may still be with us if she had been obedient to God's Holy Will and not obeyed her lusts.
What a tragic story! 😮 I saw her as the story of an angry repressed woman who came from a background with no love who in my opinion wasn't equipped to be a pop star or for any sort of fame. Now if she was alive, she probably would be on a "Celebrity" Gameshow or something. 🙂
I will admit it, I cried a lot. What a tragic tale when she was so gifted, and so talented, and full of life. They loved each other. It is a shame. I'm not a spiritual person, but at least they got to lay together for eternity.. wherever they are in the great beyond..... I hope you're happy.. sometimes you try so hard and things just don't pan out..I guess. No matter how hard you tried.. or even have sincere attempts in execution..i took a lesson away from this. ❤❤️🩹🌹🥀🌺🪻🌻💐 . If it means anything to anyone, love who you want, and be so happy, you feel all your dreams came true! don't be afraid to love anyone that is your soulmate. No matter who they are.
Awesome mini Doc. I often wondered what ever became of her. Thanks for clearing it all up. Well done! ❤

Thank U. Peace.
When I was just a kid,I had a copy of Dominique by the singing Nun on a 45
Aside from the injustice suffered by both parties, I wonder if clinical depression wasn't a factor.

Listening to her songs bring blessings to us now. May her soul and the soul of her friend rest in peace.
I loved the song as a young child. She should have left the song right there and retreated back into the convent.

The story was sad,I had lovely memories of that song in the 60 s.
Huh. Isn't it odd though, it was so tied in with the story of a lesbian with a very complicated relationship.
My heart is breaking for this woman.
😢 she's in God's loving hand now. Truly a lesson we take to heart.
What tragedy it was 😢🙏🫶😇

Ditto!
What a terrible end to the Singing Nun! The Dominican Order should be ashamed! How disgusting! She was a great singer!
Wasn't it kind of them not to help her after they'd benefitted from her money?

When i was a kid I fell in love with her song and still listen to it today. So sad the church would do this to her.

There is also The Bells of St.Mary's with Ingrid Bergman and Bing Crosby (very beautiful movie) and, Agnes of God, Black Narcissist, and others.😊
I heard this from Mermaids movie. The Dominique song

Ousted from the convent, yes; but from the Church? They wouldn't bother doing that

I have two new albums ,
Phillips recordings ,
Dominique ,
Amen🙏
The Catholic church had killed them... taken all the profit Jeannine made by her song Dominique.
Shame on the Church.. Another death on their hands.
Silly little tune?!😮😢
Honestly, the music in the background makes unbearable to listen to anything you have to say....
Cool documentary, although that's really not how you pronounce her name. It's a French name (like the song), not an English one
A lot of SPECULATION in this mini doc. Buyer beware. 😮😮😮
Triest 😞
I, will Always like the Song& Movie
forever; but there is Still no
excuse. for suicide🙏
lol, the person playing the nun has a nose ring?
I don’t think she (the film maker) was really “playing the nun” just dressed in a nuns’ habit.
It sounds like she unfortunately didn't know or follow the Bible very well.
I bet you don’t follow the bible, don’t suppose you’ve ever read it.
Yes unfortunately
