Hi my name is Carl Jacobson,
I started woodworking with my grandfather as a young boy. I continued woodworking through high school, and started woodturning after seeing a turned project in a friends shop. Some of my fondest memories are working with my grandfather in his wood shop. Being able to share our passion for woodworking, ties it all together. We also do a lot of epoxy projects as well as woodturning. Хобби
A beautiful piece. So glad you found it and shared it with us. Thank you!
Thank you John!

Thank you Glen! I hope your having a great weekend too.
THATS a another awesome piece. weldone carl.
Thank you!
Very nice work on that walnut piece Carl! Hope that all is well with you guys! 👍👍
Thank you Steve!
I didn’t know you could be allergic to specific types of wood. I knew there were specific types of wood that were bad for woodturning because they affected everyone but allergic to specific types of wood is new. Thanks! I’ve learned my One New Thing A Day early today! 😊
There are a few types of wood that people can be allergic to like Cocobolo or Rosewood these two are pretty common as far as people having allergic reactions to.
Beautiful Carl!
Thank you Matt!
Carl what a great job there buddy it turned out really smart , I wish I could find thins like that kicking about my shop.
Thank you Alan! 🙂
Great piece Carl.
Thank you buddy!
Looks great Carl, walnut is one of my favourite woods. My shops in the basement so if my wife had been allergic that would have been the end of using walnut. Cut some 1/4 in. panels for a friend a few years ago his son helped carry them into the house when he came out for the 2nd load he already had a rash on his arms, it came back to me unused the next time they visited.
Thank you Rick! Wow he's really allergic to it that sucks. Robbins allergy may get worse over time but right now it's just she gets stuffed up and start sneezing. It seems to be the dust more than anything.
nice work, nothing like finding that piece stashed away for a rainy day, many of my finest pieces are hidden on a shelf somewhere in my garage waiting for re-discovery, I have redone several pieces two or three times to get to that "perfect" finished shape or color. Your dedication over the years to woodturning and your viewers is appreciated - Thanks Carl. See you in a few weeks at the AAW!
Thank you buddy, I really appreciate that! See you at the show.
That is an incredible video 👏👏
Thank you!
Beautiful hollow form, Carl. 😊😊😊
Thank you!
Well done regardless what the wood is. Add to it that it is a beautiful piece of walnut and I’m not sure how it can be any nicer. Beautiful hollow form.
Thank you very much buddy!
One of my favorite woods and my most favorite hollowing tools! Thanks, beautiful turning!
Thank you Lewis 🙂
Very nice
Thank you!
Thanks for the air nozzle tip. I was going to ask, perfect timing at about 4:13 in the video.
Glad to help!
Very nice Carl.
Thank you Jack!
Looks like a great piece.
Thank you John!
Looking very sharp❤
Thank you!
I would imagine that piece was powder dry! Looks like it was actually pretty dry on initial turning, as it looked very true. Love the shape.
Thank you! Yes it was dry both times I turned it.
Sweeeeet 🦾🦾
Nice Work...... ya gonna turn the rest of your unfinished projects?? thats a good few months worth of videos ya got there :D
Thank you buddy 🙂
With Robin being allergic to Walnut.. is it just the dust you make when turnng? can she use or touch anything made form it if it is finished? the reason Im asking is Ive always wondered ( and I know this is a little different) if people with nut allergies can use stuff made out of those trees like walnut and such.
She's just allergic to the dust from turning it. She doesn't have a nut allergy or any problems handling it after the pieces turned.
Say, when are the lathe manufacturers going to start giving us real discounts? High prices are a joke.
