The blue planet is really interesting and yes I could definitely see a design. ❤ Beautiful work! Designer epoxy.
Awesome, thank you!
Hi did you find out if it was those wheels that marked the vase you did and would a light sanding help in getting them smooth
It looks fantastic love the glow planets 👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧
I was lucky enough to live the line of totality during the eclipse here in Ohio, and I was beginning to wonder if I was going to be disappointed and then when it was at the stage of totality it was absolutely incredible. Suffice to say the total eclipse was far and beyond what I saw when it was only at partial.
Lucky for sure! Thanks
It’s stunning yes your right the blue is very nice ❤❤😊😊😊
Thanks again!
Watching you fight with those silicone ball molds I totally get it. I feel bad but I was laughing at the same time because I have been fighting with them too. Not the balls but the 4 inch cylindrical molds. My fingers are still hurting lol.
Oh, and by the way I use isopropyl alcohol (70%) to slip them off. It helps some. But they can get sticky.
The struggle is real! 😂 thanks!
The flow in the dark affect is so fun to watch! I especially love the globe that looks like a total eclipse.
Thank you very much!
Yes the eclipse globe is very cool.
That vase : the iluminescent spheres alongside natural wood displaying all her grain & everything. It's genius. Also one of the most beautiful "bowls" or "ornaments" I've ever, ever seen. I'm 60 years of age and an Artist to boot.....
Thank you very much!
I have an apple tree that has been in my yard since I was a kid. It is now hollow and dying. I’m going to cut it down in the next several days. You just gave me an idea for the pieces of the “hollow”. I hope my kids remember those two apple trees when they look at what I’ve hopefully created. THANKS, JIM. By the way “DESIGNER EPOXY”.
Great idea, thanks!
That will be quite a way of preserving some great memories! Cool idea! I love trees.
The king of wood in space. You can't go wrong. Great piece, love the space theme!
Thanks a bunch!
i recall being about 6 or 8 years or something like that..and watching a neighbore of ours turning wood in his garage...(nothing as spectaculair as this) making what he revered to as farmerstools...that is now almost 40 years ago..but i still remember standing there watching him work..how i felt..and feeling that respect for his craftmanship!! and the scent of that wood in my nose!! hahaha..nostalgy...does this mean i am now officially old???
It might and I’m right there with you, lol. Thanks
I have to agree that the blue globe really does make the piece. As for the walnut, what can be said, it is the king of woods, at least North American woods. Absolutely love the look as it glows in the dark. Another beautiful piece to add to your already impressive resume.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it!
Liked it a lot, Nice looking vase.
Have you ever considered branding your signature@@SpragueWoodturning
@@SpragueWoodturningI am new to your channel.I just wanted to say that is a beautiful work of art sir!
@@desiree7381 yes, but I would still sign it. Thanks
The black walnut really makes this piece. Another beautiful solar system.❤❤
Thanks so much!
I stumbled on to your site at 4:00 am and couldnt stop watching. Im a 68 year old lady in Utah appreciating your beautiful work. I'm in complete awe 😊
Wow, thank you! Welcome aboard!
Holy Moly that is wonderful. Love the blue earth and the three moons.
Me too! Thanks!
I was delayed watching your "shade" vid because I had driven from SD to Arkansas to watch the eclipse! 😉. Your planetary vase is perfect for right now. It is beautiful!
Hope you got to enjoy the eclipse! Thanks so much!
Of all the people who I've seen that make this kind bowls and lights. I've never seen anyone come close to you. Your finish is absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed your video.
Wow, thank you!
My favorite galaxy themed project so far. In response to some of your comments on last week, I also prefer projects with more wood, but you can't make a lamp shade that doesn't let light out either! As always thank you, love the channel.
Cool, thanks!
Another favorite ❤
Tacos, bourbon ,and Jim Sprague on a Friday evening. A good time.
Same here, just not with tacos & bourbon! Love Friday nights for a dose of Jim Sprague creativity!
Another lovely piece! Watching you work is a weekly treat for me.
🤣 Tacos and bourbon sounds great! Thanks!
@Robinbraun8278
Close... Baileys coffee, a scone and Jim Sprague on a rainy Sunday morning.
But I'm good for a little bourbon and tacos later! 👍
I think it looks absolutely beautiful you are a crafts man for sure 👍 😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you very much!
The final shots are always stunning! I love the look of the light shining inside of it. Thanks for always sharing your process with us, Jim. 😄
You are so welcome!
As an astronomy buff, you combining two things I like..planets & woodworking? Bravo Jim! Home run🙂. Beautiful job, I quite like it.
Thank you very much!

Welcome aboard! Thank you very much!
Your vase is amazing. The large blue globe looks like it has a bulls head in it, Taurus! Great work.
Thank you very much!
Now that's a really cool looking Vase. Yes the big blue globe looks like a watery planet and some of the others look like space balls of some kind. You have just the right amount of wood and of course it's walnut. Nice job.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎🤓
Thanks so much!
I would to see if you could make an Easter basket with glowing eggs. That vase is Beautiful 🎉
That would be cool. Thanks
The colours work perfectly with the black "space" which in turn enhances the black walnut. Another beautiful piece!!
Just fantastic!! Always love the walnut. Thanks Jim.
Thanks so much!
I LOVE it!!!
The simple line of the vase makes the planets shine!!
Yeah, the blue sphere is the best!
Thanks so much!
Beautiful! Inside and out, it is amazing. I couldn’t stop watching. ❤
Wow, thank you!
Another AWESOME solar system piece! You are right, the blue globe is gorgeous! The pink inside the green looks really cool, especially when you had the black light on! Psychedelic 😵💫
Thanks so much!
The Walnut is the real stand out in this piece . Nice turn Jim. Designer Epoxy.
Thanks 👍
From firewood to fabulous. Beautiful piece!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate it.
My husband & I watch you all the time but on tv always like your content . Gos luck with your houses selling and starting another adventure for you and family . God Bless you and yours always
Thanks so much!!
An addition to the Galaxy Far Away collection. Soon you will have your own universe thanks to Designer Epoxy
I hope so! Lol. Thank you very much!
Lol I don't think Mr. Sprague can make 100 million spheres. That's ok. It would be fun to try,!

My mind is blown. I want it just to hold it and look at it for days. Cool just doesn't cut it.🤯😲💖
Thanks so much!
My top 5 list now has a new leader!!! For me and my love of all things outer space and star trek, wars, etc...I have to say this one tugs at my heart strings. I just absolutely love the idea and execution. You are a true artist and I appreciate your work so very much!! Thanks Jim!! Designer Epoxy
Hadn't thought about that connection to space. I wonder how many of us got hooked on space because of that show. We faithfully watched it every week.
Wow! Thanks so much!
Designer Epoxy That turned out really cool love the glow in the dark. Have a Great weekend
Thank you very much! You too!
Everything you've done is so beautiful 🤩❤️ that I wish I had one to decorate my new apartment with. You are truly amazing 😍 and blessed.
Thanks so much for the kind words!
That black epoxy with the color shift pigment is insanely beautiful, like I want to live in a house made out of it. Gorgeous piece.
Thanks so much!
I love that, live in a house made out of it, I agree!!
The wife and I continue to love this space series. Our wedding was at a planetarium and space themed, so we probably shouldn’t be surprised at how much we love what you’re doing with these. As always, amazed at the pours you’re able to produce with the materials from designer epoxy.
That is awesome! Thanks
Wow! Absolutely gorgeous, love your channel, new Subbie. 🥀🤗
Thanks for subscribing! Hope you enjoy my channel!
That vase is cosmic!!!! It should be out on the set of star trek!!! Awesome!!!
That would be cool! Thanks
@@SpragueWoodturning can you imagine,
Your vase on the original Star Trek, I'd see it in
Dr. McCoys office, or kirks quarters he was a
Collector of fine things.
So beautiful ❤❤❤
Thank you very much!
I think this piece is really beautiful. Being a Sci-Fi fan my mind goes to planets with moons etc. Love it!
Thank you so much!
That’s a beautiful vase never seen that before. I think you did a great job. Thank you.
Thank you very much!
I’m not a fan of combining epoxy with wood, guess I’m to old fashioned, but that is the most beautiful vase I have ever seen..
Thank you so much!
Resin used to help seal old cracks in older wood is probably one of my favorite turns to watch.
Love the creative ones like this been very helpful on thinking outside the box
Video could have been much shorter, too much talking, nice vase.
Isn't it, though?
@@SpragueWoodturningI wish I could find something like this and your other designs here in Melbourne Australia. I would just sit and stare at the beautiful colours, soothing and relaxing.👍👌👋🇦🇺
It really is out of this world. I'm sure I could study the piece for an hour and still not see all of the detail. Fabulous job.
Thank you very much!
This vase made me lose my mind. You are an incredible artist, but being that you messed that one up, I’m happy to take it off your hands lol
❤❤❤
I’ll send it for free 😜😂😜😂 thanks
I would take that vase and put a ambient light inside. That thing is so beautiful.
Thank you very much!
Am I the only one who sees what looks like the face of a bull in the blue globe? Awesome looking piece. Just an amazing work of art! ✌🇨🇦♥️♥️♥️
No, your not along, lol. Thanks
Yo! I clicked on this because I’m a really big fan of outer space.
I love planets, galaxies and cosmos.
Cool! Thank you very much!
It's "out of this world" and just beautiful. I always watch your videos all the way through. Thank you for sharing. DESIGNNER EPOXY
Thanks so much! Much appreciated!
My first-time here. I absolutely loved it. I was the best girl at turning in school and I love apoxy. My dad and grandfather were master also so i love this stuff! BEAUTIFUL!!!
Welcome aboard! Sounds like it’s in your blood!
Designer Epoxy is amazing! I truly love watching you work- here in Australia the timing can be off & I’m asleep already unfortunately but I always watch all the way through- as a qualified jeweller I have so much respect for your work & your creative “eye” which isn’t something most people are blessed with as I’m sure I don’t have to tell you! I love the unreal glow of the spheres & it does make me think of 👽’s. Thank you so much for sharing what you create! 😎♥️✌️
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it!
I love it . The blue one is really cool. I hate to say anything negative, because you're the best, but you had 2 green together on one side and 3 purple together on the other side. My thoughts are that they should have been varied a little more. I think that that would make them stand out more. But hey what do I know. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to the next video.
Thank you
I know exactly what you’re saying. Thanks for your input.
Man, i would love to have this piece. An exquisite piece of art!
Thank you very much!
Love the piece. I saw an egg under a planet waiting to hatch. I especially love the black on the inside. Looks like peering into a supernova. Great job once again. 👍
Thanks so much!
If you use the rock tumbler even relatively often, I would recommend rinsing the pieces using a hose or sink that empties into a bucket, the grit can WRECK your pipes!
Thanks for the tip! Appreciate it!
42:20 looks like a sci fi image. really cool inside
Thanks
I think this is one of my favorites!
Excellent job, Jim!!!
Thanks so much!
Ha you seems to keep finding ways. Yay! Crazy ol coot.. putting those cast like marbles in the tumbler is off the charts.. I enjoy your channel Jim. Thank you. I been turning for 55 years plus. Nice you share your craziness. It helps. Take care great effort here with the glowing marble like shapes in the bowl.. 👍☺️
Thank you very much!

I saw that too
I live in South Carolina but I was born and raised in upstate New York and I know mosquitoes and black flies. They are terrible! But I've been to Canada several times and it's beautiful. I love how clean it is. You do amazing work.❤

I think so too! Thanks
Beautiful in the day, coolness at lights out 😳😊

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!
Thank you so much!!
A good tip for the temperature of the epoxy, I suggest you place your epoxy resin containers in warm water a few minutes before you mix it!
And like that you won't have to lose time by trying to warm it up after its mixed 👌🏼😊
I’m usually warming the epoxy up so I can get color separation, it can be a problem when mixing but this is the main reason I warm the epoxy. Thanks
Wonderful experience 😀 ❤
Thank you very much!

Absolutely 💯 ❤ beautiful❤
Thank you so much!
I was just wondering what would have happened if you would have left some of the flashing on a couple of them, if you positioned them right, they would have looked like planets 🪐 with rings on them. I really like the space theme. I hope that you do more.
Thank you
Tom
Yes they would. I’ve been working on a way to do this. I have some ideas, lol. Thanks
One of the most satisfying videos to watch, absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!
Absolutely epic results.

Jaw drop to the ground! Your work is just stunning!
Thank you so much 😀
I love the idea of making the epoxy balls of different colors!! But I think putting the burl in it wasn’t necessary, I think it would have looked even better if it was All epoxy! Still very very cool brother! Nice one! 😊
