I always have a Newpenny Zman 5" Paddlerz on a Zman 1/8 red jighead when I go inshore fishing. I use this to hit spots as I paddle and find the fish. I almost always catch something on my Zman, that's why it's my go to bait. Redfish, Trout, Snook, Flounder, Jack, Lizardfish, Catfish and once a Mother in-law fish while it was simply hanging off the side of my kayak. LOVE Zman!
Not sure the exact brand Stephen uses, but it's similar to the Cush-It Big Bass Rod Float. Basically it adds a little extra cushion to the butt of the rod while also making your outfit float in case you drop the rod overboard (I could've used that a few times in my life 🤦♂️.)

I cut mine down about an inch and swim it, catches a lot of bass - hooked 2 muskies, landed one last year about 40 inches. My favorite bait.
Hula stick coppertruese is drop shot magic! They are fish durable and absolutely unbelievable.
I thought about trying that out because they float so well.
