I have the XSR900. One of the 1st things I had done was getting the speed limiter remover. She does low 160’s now. A little sketchy tho. Front wheel shakes at those speeds
@@user-fe5bi7ul4t you need to adjust your shocks to your weight. Steering dampers only make it harder for the wheel to shake but doesn’t fix why the wheel is shaking in the first place
Dude everyone that gets a naked or supersport removes the limiter with the flash lol, I doubt its that. Its more likely the wind blasting him in the chest and face, and the bike was probably shaking a bit at those speeds, all nakeds get sketchy at those speeds
As an MT-09 owner I can fully understand why Yamaha programmed a speed limit into the ECU. The bike has no wind fairing. Once, I got up to 116 mph (186 kph) and the wind at that speed became unnerving. I had my 10-year-old son on the back (I was 66 years old at the time) and there was simply too much wind for my comfort. I saw 207 kph (129 mph) on the Hellcat's speedo near the end so I assume the MT was somewhere near that speed also which is probably something I wouldn't want to do even WITHOUT my son on the back. BTW, after that incident I told my son to not say anything to his mother (my wife) about what we did. The same day I started feeling poorly about what I was effectively teaching my son: to keep secrets from his mother. In addition, my relationship with my wife wasn't going to be an honest one thereafter, so I confessed to her everything that transpired that day including what I had told our son. I'm so glad I did. Apart from having a relationship with Jesus Christ, there is nothing comparable to a happy, healthy marriage.

66 years old in a mt09 is wild
I am happy that the 2022 Mt09 um ecu sees 270 with fast and the 6th gear is finished at 270, even uphill it goes at 270 (170 MILES).
this bike can hit the speed limiter in 5th gear, opening up the ecu turns it into a truly sickening device of mass road destruction

Mt09 needs flash to remove too speed limiter
Mt09 is fast as hell. But the top speed is limited by factory by 20 mph or so. And the bike has 0 aero
Think about it, if yamaha release R9 that has R dna (aero dynamic and better top speed than MT series) that R9 would be a beast in street, right?
I hope they massage the engine for the R9 to give it more top end at the expense of a little mid range. Would suit the model better.
