Which one would y’all pick, the MT09 or the MT10?
The 09 is a vicious bike.
Hard to say, but I feel like I'd prefer the 10
My only problem with the MT bikes is everyone and their brother and sister has them. I tend to prefer bikes that are a little smaller and lighter with good power to weight so I would probably go MT-09.

The look of the MT10 is just terrible... Hopefully when they redesign, it doesn't look like a bunch of bargain bin parts thrown together. The sound of the 10 is incredible though.

Had an FZ09 that I traded in for a Nightster Last year. Really Started missing it and put a deposit down on an MT09 SP myself. Delivery date got pushed way back to the end of the summer and I got to ride one at a demo day along with an MT10. I preferred the MT10 over the 09. It feels better in the corners and there's not buzz that comes through the bars and makes my pinkies go numb. I bought a 2019 Mt10 over the weekend lol. So happy to see this video though.
Not gonna lie, Eric embodies most of us in our friend groups. Everyone being serious with tech talk and reviews, us huffing and puffing going down the kiddie slide 😅 Hero status.

There’s not many small dealers allowing test rides so I’m relying on other information I can find. So Tomorrow I go trade in my versys 650 for a MT-10 that I’m outfitting with some small bags and it’s already got a comfort seat and touring screen

MT-09 is an absolute hoon machine. It feels like a big supermoto to me. It's a little small (I'm 6'3" 230lbs with a 34" inseam) but carries me around with the front wheel in the air no problem. You really can't go wrong with either one of these bikes. Oh and I got my MT-09 with 5k miles on it for $6200 USD. Smiles per dollar ratio is through the roof.

I am very impressed with Yamaha’s CP4 engine. It has the simplicity of an inline 4 but behaves like a V4. I wish Yamaha made a sport touring rig with that engine. I would buy one in a heartbeat.

mt10 I actually like the beastly look of it as well. It grows on you too, especially if you put on some lane splitting small mirrors

I am having the same dilemma…9sp vs 10.
Since it will likely be my only bike and my commute is mostly freeway, I’m leaning towards the 10.
IMO, the 10 has way better sound and looks slightly better.
Only needs pipe, tuner, windscreen, comfort seat, and tail bag.
Only wish the 10 had the 9’s fuel economy.
Tracer 9gt was another option, but it’s even more pricey and my least favorite looking.
I ride a 16' 09. They're so much fun to ride. I would love to have the 10 but damn man, it's extremely hard to find them for under 10k here in PA.
I've owned both bike Kinda. Fz-09 and Mt-10. I'm a bigger guy, 5' 11'' and 250. Loved both, but I sold the 09 and would never look back. MT-10 all the way. Suspension is way better on the 10. One big thing is I don't feel like a bear on a tricycle on the MT-10. My MT-10 is deleted tuned with Austin racing exhaust and it's my favorite bike ever.
Just bought the mt-10 sp can’t wait to ride it! Japan roads are awesome 👍🏼 gonna tour around japan country side and enjoy the twisty roads! Great review! If i have one bike on my garage, it’s definitely gonna be mt-10😎
I have the 2020 09. Makes me giggle like a kid every time. Long distance on the highway without a windscreen is rough, with one it's totally fine. Tightened the suspension up and it feels a lot more planted. It's really made for going like a bat outta hell on some country roads. Can't say enough about the fun factor. If you wanna go 150+ not the bike for you.
The MT-10 sounds so damn good at low rpms like a muscle car. The MT-09 sounds like a high performance car like a Ferrari. I'll take the 10

Im looking at the MT-10 or the MT-09 SP, leaning towards the 10 because as you said it would be my only bike (sold my old one) now its the accessories that have me looking at the 09 because third party theres way more options, yamaha doesnt keep anything in stock so, do you know any third parties for the 2022+ MT-10?
I just drove the MT10 for a few days, powermode 1 is no issue, just a lil twitchy.
Traction control is best kept at 3, unless your in a hoon mode and decide to freewheel your journey ahead :)
I would be interested in the MT-09SP vs the MT-10, that is my current problem. I have a FZ-09, and wanting a MT-10, for the cruise, but with the SP also having it and a better suspension than the base model i'm stuck, the 09 has enough power, so it's more about features now.
I’m planning on purchasing mt-10 2017 model with 13k mileage, do you think i could still enjoy it for the next 5 years or so? Your opinion will give me big help on picking the 2017 mt-10 or mt-09 21

I just picked up a 2020 tracer gt, amazing machine with plenty of power for me..
Test rode both then got the MT-09... The triple is much lighter and more nimble at the lower RPMs, goes head to head with the MT-10 from 0-90mph, but after that there is no contest. The triple is better for city riding and lane splitting, but also an excellent bike for the track. The MT-10 has better stock suspension, brakes and that CP4 growl.

I have a little experience in the dirt from my youth. I'm about a full month into my motorcycling journey and I can confirm a 2016 fz09 (before all the nannies) makes for a terrifying experience as a beginner. I love it though
I road sports bikes 20 years ago and I’m looking at riding again. I kinda like the look of the 10 better but the 09 would be more then enough for me. It come down to commonsense but the 10 is still likely😫

I own the MT10 and an XSR900 which is just the more retro looking version of the MT09. Both great engines but I would always go to the MT10 for the best riding experience. I've done 25,000 miles on my MT10 and is the best, most crazy bike I've ever owned. Just be aware that CP4 crossplane engine in the 10 is thirsty compared to the 09
How is the mt10 for longer rides. I having a sporster currently and I'm looking to get a bike like the mt09 or mt10 or the Bronx if it comes out and I want something faster but doesn't sacrifice comfort too much like a Sport bike.
@@rattlehead7281 I've done 400 mile days in relative comfort. It's definitely fast, stock the suspension is relatively soft, set more for road comfort than out and out corner speed.
The biggest downside of touring on the 10 is you need to stop for fuel every 100 miles.
@@Banditmanuk ok that's nice to know, once I get a chance I'll have to take them for a test ride. I roughly get 110 miles give or take on my sportster so that's not a big deal.

Are the MT10s restricted in the US?
We get full power versions In the UK. However they are limited to 155 top speed in 6th gear.

I live in the nw. Ready to buy a Mt 10 and none to be found.!!. I ended up driving to santa Barbra ca and bought a 2021 with zero miles on it. Wanted to ride before the summer was over up here. I've had it for a month and just turned 2500 miles...!..
Thing is awesome. Just did black widow decat,, kept the stock end can on it, and drove it over to 2 wheel Dyno works for a flash..drove the long way home, 400 miles that day.!!. The machine just screams from 7000 to redline.. so much fun...
2021 MT-09SP improves on stability and confidence 300% over the last model.

If they made the changes to the 2021 MT-10 that they did to the 2021 MT-09, I would have gotten the MT-10. Even though it's a bit overkill.. But they did not. Thus, I'm an 2021 MT-09 SP owner now. It's IMO completely different then the previous years. I'd like to see someone's comparison on both the 2021 models.
I'm not too into in the MT10 (looking at the CB1KR & GSX-S 1K) but I really like the MT09...
Which one feels like it has more low end power? I have a feeling the 10 is a screamer and the 09 puts more work in lower in the rev range?

I bought the MT09 as my first bike and it’s absolutely fine. I love it.
It’s down to the rider and his abilities at the end of the day as to his riding style.. is he going to be sensible and rude with due care and attention or be a speed freak and hooligan 😂😂if it’s the second option then the bikes are seriously not for a first bike 😂😂😂😂😂😂🤦

I love both bikes but I went with the 09 because it looks better and was quite a bit cheaper to insure and purchase. Mt09 full coverage is $425/yr vs. $1660/yr for Mt10

I wish the mt07 was my beginner bike.
Just swapped my MT-09 for the MT-10, and it's a different beast altogether! Sounds and rides much better in my opinion. As the homies in the video said, it's just solid and planted, which gives me tons more confidence in my riding. I felt very little confidence in the 09, it just didn't own the road. The MT-10 does 🤟🏻
I have an MT09 and love it. It has more of everything than I need. That said I'll definitely consider the MT10 when I get back to the US. If it's as different from MT09 as MT09 is to MT07 it will be an easy sell...
some of use don't want a planted bike lol new mt09 and the wheelie control is what I want lol about to pickup my second mt09 because its the hooligans choice

I had a chance to buy a '18 MT09 SP and MT09 does not offer cruise (not an option) it's why I chose MT10. I need that cruise control. I didn't want the use MT09 SP even with cruise because it had over 15K miles.. so I bought brand new 11 miles with cruise, life is good.
You need to ride the new BMW s1000r and the tuono v4. Really want to know your thoughts about it.

You honestly can't go wrong. Lol. I own an mt09 but they both seem like amazing bikes. Pushing the mt09 at the track can get sketchy. Idk how the mt10 is on track but id imagine its really quite good.

I know you chose the MT 09, probably because of the lighter weight & dealing with those heavy Harley Davidsons. However, phrases about the MT 10 describing it as "feeling very planted" & "feels like it's on rails" because it is so steady on the road, make it a very seductive, wiser, better overall choice, at least from my personal perspective.👀🤔🤨🥸
Great comparison. Wonder what the difference in insurance cost would be? That's a stat that helps a lot of people make up their mind.
For me here in the south east of England, the MT-10 that I just insured was £6 less than the MT-09 I traded it in for!

The reason the empty tin feels like it’s on the rails is because it literally has the same chassis as they are worn a whole lot of engineering went into the design of the chassis that the MT 10 uses unlike the other MT bikes it actually has parts from a race bike and the other bikes are more budget bikes made to have fun around town. The MT10 actually had a race bike chassis and engine in it. MT 10 is a race bike that has been made fun. The mt09 is a fun bike from the ground up it will never handle like the MT10 because of its chassis is made for high speed. The 09 is made for fun around town. That being said the new 2021 MT09 is much more like the MT10 than the previous models.
Just traded my 2016 09 for a 2021 10 and it's a night and day difference the 10 is an absolute monster 👊👊👊

I have an fz9 and r6.. considering selling r6 and gripping an mt10… not sure how i feel about the look though, headlights ugly af, and the right side looks like it has a little alcove between the parts.

MT10 is a great bike and something I am planning to buy one day, but as you said, it is a serious bike. MT09 will allow you to do all kind of fun stuff for a great price, therefore bang for buck = MT09

Put the MT10 in mode one, it's not that difficult to ride....I couldn't even tell the difference when I first purchased mine.
MT09 of course! anyway, in the US roads with speed limits you can't exploit the high potential of any bikes i think, except in some circuit or track...in UE is different, in many countries is possible to go really fast...

MTO9 is a very good bike I think looking at the review, but I think you will get used to it and you will get bored of it because you want that big a bike

Then get used to level two
Then 1

Triples give you both torque and horsepower almost like a V4. I4 is higher rpm horsepower
