      Yeah it gained a little MPH in the 1/4 mile. As far as ET it is all over the place because we still haven't been able to figure out the traction issues. The car definitely sounds wicked after adding the headers and Xpipe. As far as price goes this is probably one of the best kits out there. Some people have claimed they had fitment issues but we got lucky and everything fit perfectly.

    I got some for my 5th gen 2010 2SS. However, the driver side headers have to be forced up past the driver side steering coupler. Once it’s up there, it’s TERRIBLE to try to fully remove again for adjustments.
    Also, I had to dent in the frontmost 2 first header collector pipes. Both of those contact the steering coupler, esp the 2nd collector. I ended up hammering them in, at the very least, a solid ~2 mm worth of denting.
    Aside from that, I did dent in the passenger side heat shield around the fuel lines, on that side of the engine bay.
    I was also able to run some generic, universal ceramic core, 3” high flow cats. Only downside is that only 2-2.5” cats contain o2 bungs (offset and/or center). I ended up having an issue running exhaust reducers/adapters for the 2.5” cats, so the 3” ones worked with a bit of modifications to the exhaust couplers/adapters. Ended up connecting the secondary, downstream o2 sensors, and zip-tying the harness clips onto my transmission lines (LS3, TR-6060).

      @LSxMotorsports2021  Месяц назад

      @SoToAnTrAx You can run this without any tuning but you will get a check engine light. To avoid the check engine light you need to turn off the the MIL codes for the secondary O2 sensors and if you have an automatic you need to turn off the codes for the valves in the exhaust for the DOD. But it will run fine without a tune you just have to deal with having the check engine light on.

    I’ve got the SE headers on my 2017 LT /L86 in my 67 c10 and noticed there is not much clearance between one of the passenger side tubes and my battery cable to starter connection. My starter connections face the header tubes. What starter did you use? Did you run into any issues with that?

    • @LSxMotorsports2021
      @LSxMotorsports2021  4 месяца назад +1

      Well these headers were designed for the 6th Gen Camaro so we didn't have any issues. As for what you would need I really couldn't say. But if you have enough room a heat shield could help along with heat reflective sleeves or tape on any wires exposed to heat. If there isn't enough room you could look at a Mini starter which are a fair bit smaller than a factory starter. The fact that you put a L86 in a 67 C10 is pretty damn cool. 👍

    Do you need a tune after headers and mid pipe ? For the Camaro

    • @LSxMotorsports2021
      @LSxMotorsports2021  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes and no. It will start and run fine but it will set a check engine light because of the missing secondary O2 sensors and the missing cats. A proper tune will eliminate the check engine light and a experienced tuner will get you a few extra HP. But if you just want to run it after the headers until you are able to get it tuned then yes you can it will be fine it will just have the check engine light on. Now keep in mind my only experience is with a 2016 camaro. As cars get newer the manufacturers are getting more strict with their tunes so the worst case scenario is after a certain amount of time the car could go into reduced power mode. I don't think this will happen but it is a possibility. But you really should get a tune for it as soon as you can.

      It was fairly easy to install. It's about the cheapest system available. And yes it is very loud. We have several videos on the channel of this car so you can hear it from many different situations. But be aware the camera doesn't really do it justice.......the sound echos alot.lol. But the sound is reasonable when just cruising around.

      That’s exactly what I wanted to hear, I did a whole bunch of research and watching this vid for some background to get a good idea. One last thing, was the car in the vid a manual or auto? For the autos I needed to get a AFM simulator kit is that hard to install ?Hopefully when it gets to me I can slap it on real quick and sounds good on the road.

    • @LSxMotorsports2021

      This car has the 8 speed automatic. We have HP tuners so we turned off AFM and any of the check engine codes and he manually shifts it 99% of the time anyways. I really think you will love this system if loud is what you want. I haven't checked the price recently but I know it was the cheapest option when we got it and it's all stainless so it's good quality.

      We haven't had any issues so far. And I have run headers on other cars with no issues. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't wrap them. Wrapping them can cut down on heat for sure. But they can be a pain to wrap and it doesn't always look that great. But if you're on the fence I would do a little searching on the Internet to see what the positive and negatives are of Wrapping headers. I have never done it myself so I really can't say. But I did choose to put ceramic coated headers on my 2002 Camaro.

    • @LSxMotorsports2021
      @LSxMotorsports2021  Год назад +1

      As far as price goes you can't beat them.They are probably the lowest cost system out there.They are made of stainless steel so they are made of quality materials.As far as fitment goes we installed them on the 2016 camaro ourselves and never had any problems with fitment.We got the 1 7/8 " headers.They do make a 2" header which I could see having fitment issues but 2" headers aren't needed in my opinion.As far as rattles and leaks we did not have any.But I did have issues with their dual exhaust on my 2002 camaro.It had tons of rattles and exhaust leaks but I changed all the claps with stepped band clamps from summit racing and that cured all the problems.But we didn't have any issues with leaks or rattles on the System we put on the 2016.So in my opinion if you get the 1 7/8 " headers and Xpipe the worst that could happen is you'll need to upgrade the clamps which will still be way cheaper that the other brands headers and Xpipe.So this is the experience we had.Even though I had to buy different clamps for my dual exhaust on the 2002 Camaro it was still about $1000 cheaper going with Speed engineering than if I went with the competition.I would much rather have that extra money in my pocket than be able to brag and say I have Kooks headers and Xpipe on my car.But that's just me.Good luck on whatever you decide to get.You will love the extra sound you get from whatever system you decide to go with.Thanks for watching and commenting we really appreciate it.
